I have not laid eyes upon a better 240z/280z. This was done so right. It's not often you can come across an entire re-build inside and out AND not find a single thing about it that would have been done the way I wanted. Absolutely fantastic!!!
Saw this Z at the LA autoshow and instantly gravitated towards it when entering the room. I have a 280z in the original 240 racing green code and it also has a gold flake so trust me when i say i almost thought someone stole my car and took it to the show. But your Z is a thousand times cleaner than mine. Love the build
hope you dad enjoys it for a very long time bubby wish I could have done something like that for mine very proud of you and I'm sure he is to. never miss out
Bravo on the welded-in fender flares!!! I think riveted on Bunnies are a sign of laziness. The detail it takes to weld and mold in flares is appreciated by this enthusiast!!
Absolute perfection ❤ This is my absolute DREAM car. Being born in the 70’s, my father also introduced me to the Z. That’s all he drove until my stupid brother came along and he sold it for a 4 door. My only hope is to hit the lottery to have such an amazing and beautiful car. Well done on the build and I’m over here drooling ❤️❤️
This is the most beautiful car I;ve ever seen. Wish my dad was around to see my 77 I bought in 2016. Nowhere near the art you've created but still built with the same love. Your dad should be proud
This thing is badass from top to bottom! I've only became familiar with these cars in the past 2 years and definitely want one of them one day and do the same thing.
Love how smooth the welds to the wide body came out seamless. The flakes make the color pop out really well. The interior is jaw dropping on how new it all looks! Having my own 240z to customize to my liking is a dream car to me.
Beautiful car. I still miss mine. Mechanic ran a play and had it stolen 2 years ago. The 240z is definitely a classic sports car that still turns heads today. Nice work.
Beautifully executed. only thing I would change is the stereo unit. Retro Sound has a really good matching unit to OEM with full blue tooth capability.
Stunning build! Pop's must be stoked. Not a knock, but curious what is going on with the rear suspension under acceleration? The wheels appear to be towing in quite a bit!
I'm a huge fan of those! I've had the 72 240z, 80 280zx, and 80 280zx T top. After those an 86 GSL SE RX7 with a sbc. Current project is an 82 BMW 635CSi Euro spec that getting LS converted.
Hey. The build looks amazing. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. What version of the Ulterior Motives flares did you use? they have quite a few different "universal" models. It looks like you didn't need to modify them too much to get them to fit the Z. Thanks again!
I used to own Dando’s Performance a Z car specialties shop, also raced Z’s for many years and won National Championships. I think you’ve built a perfect Z! The chassis is done right, the engine is not overly complicated or too much horsepower. The interior is as good as it gets ( although I’d do white face gauges). The paint is an amazing color and application. In short I think it’s the best well thought out, street driven everyday kinda Z!
Ultra nice build. Interior is incredible. That being said, I gotta ask Apex Engineering, what the heck is going on with the undeniable amount of rear toe in under hard acceleration?
VERY nice build, but those rear control arms are not up to the task for the available torque. The front link (tube) on each of the arms is not triangulated . It's a single tube off on it's own. Need another tube welded front to back by the heim joints.
nice n very clean build,,love the work it was put in yo Z,,, i have 1972 sitting in my garage ,,had started to restoration but still have long way to go since i have another 67 camaro working on ,,,,love the steel fender fares that ws done on yo Z,,, do u remember where u got it from...pls let me know, thx

This build is perfect. amazing.
This is not just the cleanest Z I’ve ever seen, it’s just the cleanest car period.
Beautiful! Seriously. Do mine next! Likely the best build I have seen. Classic.

Sorry to hear that🙏🏿
That car is really a masterpiece, bone stock or not it always amaze me how it catches my attention. I really wish it was easier to find one.
Man, I LOVE this car!!! nicely done everyone.
Nothing but love for this beauty. Love your passion as well thanks for sharing!

Top notch 😮
Wow, congratulations guys, this is really amazing ❤
Thank you!
That toe in under acceleration is telling!
Beautiful build!! Clean.
That’s some BADASS Z
My man... You have build a unicorn there 😍😍😍 it's from now on my dream car, how much would a mortal human being spend to have something like that?
Absolute killed it. I have a green 71 in LA that’d love the SS treatment.
Send us an email and we’ll get your right🙌🏿
@@SSMOTORSPORTS I’m a ways off but I’ll reach out. Be cool just to connect and who knows down the road.
Hard build for certain major congrats!😎
Amazing build 👍

noticed the same, lot of flexing going on

We got the flares from Ulterior Motive💪🏿
It’s perfect.
Great video man. Love that you did this for your pops. If you don't mind sharing, ballpark how much this build run you?
A build like this is about ~160k
This build is stunning 🤩 How much will cost to build something like this? Appreciate your work!!!👍
Im curious to know, these guys never say which turns me away from even inquiring further.
Said in another comment 160k. That’s why I came too. I got a 71 here!
What a beautiful car, congrats, saludos 🇲🇽🇲🇽
Thank you!
What would total cost for something like this be, as in if a customer came to you wanting you to source out and build them a v8 resto mod Z like this?
The SS way
I love it!
Can you share details about the rims? They remind me of MZR’s
When I win the lotto you guys are doing my 2nd gen Trans Am
UNA BELLEZA
oh shit, this was filmed in camarillo! near CSUCI, i should bring my grandpa's datsun to you guys to get it running again
Yessir! Give us a call, info is in the video description
What did you guys do for motor and transmission mounts .
We used CX Racing motor mounts for both
Nice

This is like my dream car, everything about it is perfect, how much would it be to buy it?
It's not like I could ever afford it but I'm just curious
A full in depth build from head to toe like this is roughly about $160k from our shop
B E A UUUUUUU TIFUL!!
👊🏿👊🏿
How much is did this all cost?
$1 million-billion-bajillion-Dillion-billion dollars. But most likely I’m think 45k
😍😍😍😍😍
Am i the only one that noticed how much the rear wheels are moving at 0:40? Something doesn’t seem right
Why would you invest or even bother with a 2001 LS1?
Nobody uses those engines anymore 😂
Which engine would you have swapped into it?
How much hp does this beast have?
Around ~350whp. Hasnt been on the dyno yet
