This song has the perfect groove 2 it .The orchestration was off the chain & Ms. Sylvester was slaying it 2 no ends. The children used 2 lose their minds. The violins r sic🙏Amen 2 real dance 🎶🎶🎵.
We miss You Sylvester, those songs ... made the clubs, spots, backyard, parties, and the like be, Thumpin' Jumpin'. Tell me I'm wrong! Take care all, and live the safest kindest, fullest, and most intellectual way going forth . Respectfully posted.✌🌹
I’m in my drawers reliving the days I dance in nothing but my drawers..I was young and following the kids who used to dance they pants off on those square cubes ..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This cut is a huge staple of the Chicago House music scene. I first heard this at The Playground in 1984. Didn't care for it, at first. But like most legendary House music classics, it became inseparable from the rest.
Outstanding!....A Certified Club/Disco Classic...I remember hearing this for the first time at The Paradise Garage here in New York...My favorite Sylvester Song, After Someone Like You!
him and many other prominent artists used to always perform in LA too, unfortunately far before my time. Man what i would give to see him at a disco club and dance my ass off.
I will never ever stop hearing and dancing to Sylvester music his voice is amazing like it’s coming from deep inside of his soul I love his voice when I saw everyone in the loft getting into this song it was almost spiritual oh love it Rest In Peace never will I forget this song or Sylvester and the era when it all happen
This CUT would have EVERYTHING in the Paradise GARAGE goinnnnnnnn IN!!!!! Speakers vibrating!!!! ❤ yessss RIP my luv Billy Lovett, I see you working this song 🙏🏼
This was definitely a True Artist. His music was unique. All his Greatest Classics were loved by everyone who danced at The Garage, Loft, Studio, Zanz, Funhouse.
This song turned my cousin into a House Head. He used to ride the train from Gary to Chicago in the summer and when he heard this there was no turning back. Sylvester killed it!!!
Never forget ' sylvester '...when he came to UK........I was a young " Soul Boy " ...back in the day......think it was a club in hemel Hamsted '....anyway ...he was amazing 👏 What a voice ...... he's was so " Gorgeeous ' to look at ....a real Stunner... I'm In my 60's now .......m8ss Sylvester ....rest in peace
One of my favorite tracks from slyvester. .omg the violins were superb in this song and thebstrings and Sylvester great falsetto vouce rovks this tune off the chain. .alright.. Sylvester....rip my queen.. Gbless u...20
memories of Chicago summers, home on college break and heading to '161 West' on Fridays and 'The Warehouse' on Saturdays.this is my favorite Sylvester song. i am sooo grateful to have grown up on this music and to have been able to enjoy this music and the good times associated with it back in the day.
I forgot about this hit here. I love but. However I will never forget his last hit before he died, " Someone Like You." back in 1986. I was a freshman at Norfolk State University. I loved the video featuring dancer and actress Debbie Allen.
Funny the last time I was in Chicago. Patrick Petty took me to a club that was okay. But because I knew it was Kelly's song. I requested it when they were under pressure to play hip hop. It filled the floor. Classics. Peace.
Anyone ever hear and or know of a recoding of I Need You where it was just Sylvester with piano accompaniment and foot stomping? Sylvester's singing is just incredible, even more so than in the original recording! Piano throughout and I think either he or the piano player is stomping their feet to the beat. I heard the recording once years ago and I never heard it again and I meant to find it. Its like a lost recording, and was either a demo or maybe the original performance, or a rehearsal, high fidelity sound quality too.
It was an amazing song. It got slept on because of timing. I believe it came out early 1980. There was a severe anti disco movement at that time and this song got caught in its wake and were tossed aside
@@rosemaryrogers1478 perhaps you are correct. But I don't recall it living up to its potential. How high did it chart. And don't give me a Dance Chart because that means nothing.
I first heard this track by him was st this club in chi cago ....circa 1982 named the gallery it was a gay club ...omg the dj there at thst time wss ..Larry Williams he was from nyc.i tell u he beat this song so bad i felll in lovebwith it every since then i love this tune by him....rip my. GODDAMN was it yesterday that many of us were at the Garage, the loft, Copa and Bonds coked up, or Acid up ?? I know I WAS....Shit im old...fun fun fun days of dancing and drugging those days are over but nice memories.
*This is Rocco.* *I’ll be out of town for a while. Don’t come looking for me cause you won’t find me. I probably ain’t gonna check these messages either.* *Sorry Ma, you understand.*
I'm still, after years and years, looking for a high fidelity demo I once had in MP3 format I found somewhere through Limewire of THIS SONG being performed by Sylvester and piano ONLY. It was absolutely fantastic. He was tearing it up, with acoustic piano accompaniment, nothing else and there was foot stomping. It was almost GOSPEL, it raised the hairs of my arm and was pure joy to listen to. I totally lost it. This is one of my musical quests to FIND that version and if there is a WHOLE session of that may include other songs. Any Sylvester super fans know what I'm talking about? Thank you .::Modernaire
wonderful edit by Boomer Omegaman Reynolds exists on his Finetime E.P, gets played by Ryan Elliott alot. I love sylvester he/she however they identified was such a ray of sunshine, you can't be indifferent to such talent, such bliss on the microphone and some amazing composing in the back. TL:DR some people's light shines far beyond their lifespan and Sylvester is one of them

Andre Mawtese Man i thought i was the only one who loved that set absolute gold. you made me smile 👍😎
I wonder if it's original to the song or it is inspired by a classical composition. Anyway, I can't get enough of those strings!!!!!!! Long live disco

I'm assuming you have found the mix by now, but in case you haven't, it's titled Dim's Sunday Morning mix.
Larry Levan use to go crazy on this song. Before there was Kenny Bobien and Byron Stingley there was Sylvester. Good times and blessings.
