I literally have this almost exact video. I drove while my son filmed, I guess on a GoPro mounted to windshield. I watch it over and over to re- live the wonderful experience! Beautiful place!
I love this! Every curve of that road is intimately familiar to me. We go to the park 30 times a year. We go over Trail Ridge probably a dozen times in the summer, and walk parts of it in the winter when it's closed. What a lovely video.
I used to work in a restaurant right @ the edge of the Park (summer of '78 & '79) & would meet people traveling through. I went through many times with my family, it's one of my favorite drives. Thanks for making this.
I did this drive in 1957, when mid-summer traffic was as light as it is in your beautiful video. You were fortunate to be able to avoid the bumper to bumper cars! Thanks for posting this. It's really fun to watch, especially with all that snow.
Amazing, I was up there once. I come from germany and I always like to tell people how beautiful it is there and how high and....and...and.......just amazing. thanks for video!
awesome. we just went there this last October 2014. we stopped at the 3.03 mark and got out to view the mountains in the parking area. headed back down because it was starting to get dark and we didnt want to travel on a road like that at night. i had enough of the height by that time anyway. would love to have finished the road. saw elk everywhere, a moose with horns, deer. so beautiful. was beep bopping to your music while watching, lol. enjoyed watching your video.
Ended up passing by rocky mountain national park on my way to LA and drove through this road from estes park to grand lake. I stopped at a bar in grand lake, drank, slept in my back seat, woke up with the sun and drove right back through it going the other way. Such a great time.
Beautiful drive! I can appreciate videos like this. It makes a person think about how and who created all this wonder. All from God,for us to enjoy. Amen!
I have been over this trail so many times I know every single curve and after moving from Colorado this I will always truly miss. I'm actually looking to make a video for a family member who used to work as a ranger in the park and due to her health can't really make the trip and I'm no longer there to drive her. Thank you for this!
Thank you for posting this video! I don't know what came over me...the music...the beauty...the anticipation...it brought tears to my eyes. I am heading to CO the end of the month & this is on my list of things to do and was nervous by comments on how "scary" it is. This helps see that I probably won't get the fear off "falling off" the road. What time of the year as this recorded?
As a Rocky Mountain girl, I have always wanted to drive about 100 miles an hour down Trailridge. Of course, I would never, ever actually DO it, ;-D but the segment between about 7:00 and 9:00 is how I, um, imagine it would be.
The music isn't great, but the scenery is beautiful. The Appalachian Mountains out this way, while beautiful in its own way, don't look the same at all. I want to visit there.
I've been over Trail Ridge dozens of times; never quite this quickly, though. ;) Know every curve like the back of my hand. Last half dozen times have been on my motorcycle. Much more fun on a motor. Ken
+Joe Fronczek It's video, sped-up during editing. I don't remember the exact rate, but it looks like it's about 600%. If I was editing it again today I'd probably run it slower, maybe around 400%.
I just have one question: *WHY ARE THERE NO GUARD RAILS ON THE ROAD?!"* Trust me, when, you get high up, you will start to tense up. If you drive off the edge, you're toast.

Went there with my wife in 1994. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
littlebuddyd I agree.

Outstanding video. The construction on that road is never ending. The weather and altitude make repairs a continual event. Good video.

ive did that drive years ago way before gopro, thanks for posting.
Taking this journey next week!!!
How was it? Did you pay the 25 bucks for the day pass?
July 4 1976..stationed Lowry AFB.. Denver CO. most excellent summer. as it got higher and higher it took me right back there.
Lot of cars. All there for the same reason. It's so pretty.

love it!! cant wait to drive this in June! :)
Great music choice
I remember you had a different song for this video
Why did you remove it ?
Looks like this is taken at 1frame per second, or a video sped up. What were you settings? really love the look of it.

May I ask is what time of the season did you go there? And is it always raining?
what is the name of the song and who are the artist performing
Loved! Miss this place!
Is this an actual time lapse or is it sped up video? If it is time lapse, what is the frequency of shots? 1 second?

In what time of the year it is, may be june ?

it's real-time video, sped up to about 6x during editing. I shot it with a Kodak Playsport ZX3.
Awesome.
I was here in 2015.
Do you miss it?
Great vid! I'm doing this today
Jeff how was it??
@@ogweasel4273 I just did it today. I had to drive 25 miles an hour because there are no *GUARD RAILS!* Sheesh...
what month was this on?
@Trolleymoose windshield wipers. The weather was not ideal :-(
Song is With A Spirit
Cool
Really weird seeing a Florida plate to start the video, lol.
Nice time lapse here, despite the weather. Too bad many of the spruce trees here were killed from the bark beetle infestation.
pictures and video never do justice on colorado mountains and what your actually seeing
((()_())) OH GOD NOOO!!!.... NOT THIS SONG AGAIN !?!?!..... MUTE BUTTON!!!, MUUUTE BUTTON!!!!.
