Red hawk was a move luffy created during the timeskip training to honour his brother Ace, we saw him first use it against Hordy Jones underwater and again against Doflamingo. The fire is thought by fans to be caused due to the friction of Luffy punching sooo fast but this has not been confirmed and could have another reason for the fire. Sooo much more fire on the wayyy!!🔥🔥
I also died laughing at pudding in the manga and in the anime when it came out lol; immediately forgave her her evil side, she really is trying to be a lil sweetheart xD
Also this is why I love Pudding! the introduction of her character, the heel turn, the face turn, and then sanji cracking her shell enough that she proves, deep down, that she really is the loving person we initially assumed her to be (in spite of her many flaws). She's a deeply human and funny and spirited character with a love for Sanji that's both super pathetic and really heartwarming/brave instead of just being a nice but kind of one-dimensional person who cares for Sanji enough to turn on her mom, and going off all the nature/nurture themes explored in both Whole Cake and Dressrossa, it kinda goes to show how deeply kind and honourable some of Big Mom's kids have the potential to be if given the opportunity/kindness they've been horribly deprived of
Red Hawk is kinda great because it's the first move Luffy uses against Doffy in their fight, and it's probably in part because Doffy has been taunting him with Ace's fruit (and by extension his memory), and it's the first serious fight he's had with a proper villain since Marineford (since Caesar's kind of a joke and not like a main antagonist), so Luffy going straight into that fight with a move that's clearly a homage to Ace's signature Fire Fist made me emotional
Totally agree with everything you said. I just wanted to note that that wasn't the first time. The first time we see Red Hawk it's during the fight against Hody Jones in FishMan Island. It made even greater impression (imo) because his arm ignited even though it was under water. But yes, it will never stop being emotional to me. An absolutely beautiful attack no matter how many times I see it.
i think seeing big mom like this is a great way to show audiences what it's like having to fight an emperor on their home turf before we get to the next arc where we're allying to fight Kaido, and it makes you think of the kind of jumps in progress Luffy will need to make before he can go head to head with one in Wano
23:00 This is not just a cake. Their mission is to make a cake so devine that it exceeds gluttonous LinLin's god like expectations. It's a true challenge for Sanji who is a dedicated chef, which is why he makes this determined face here. 26:20 Yes, exactly 👍 Thanks for understanding Zeus 🙏 27:44 The way LinLin's VA pronounces Prometheus is actually the correct one. Generally, Japanese speaking people seem to be good at pronouncing Greek words (I had said this also back in Water 7 when Franky revealed his Centaur form (Kentavros Κένταυρος)) 27:50 LinLin's VA Koyama Mami was 60 years old when these episodes came out, so around the same age as LinLin herself. On the other hand, Luffy's VA Tanaka Mayumi is the same age, but because she's portraying a teenage boy, she adjusts her voice accordingly.
13:50 Your reaction 🤣 I thought you had eventually figured it out 😅 It's not a spoiler because you actually saw it happening. It's just that you didn't understand it because they couldn't show how gruesome it really was because of the age limit. Remember that both the anime and the manga are targeted towards young boys (shōnen = 9-18 years old, but the media are often also consumed by even younger children); gory stuff are usually for more mature audiences.
7:58 Welcome to Pudding's split personality alterations 😅 She doesn't actually have a dual personality disorder. It's just that she doesn't know how to act anymore. 09:39 and 10:23 The contemplating stare Sanji keeps giving Pudding here ❤️A broken child who still doesn't know if she's allowed to show kindness and affection; he definitely sees a part of his past self in Pudding, and ponders the best way to act around her. 10:32 I also like how everyone basically figures her out here.
30:25 Warming up to liking PerosPero? 🤩 That's what I like about you, Kais. You are open minded enough not to be stuck on your first impression of someone. Or is this only for OnePiece? 🤔😅 31:30 PerosPero 's attack "Candy Maiden" is a reference to the late medieval torture device "Iron Maiden" (not to be confused with the heavy metal band who also took their name from said device). "It consisted of a solid iron cabinet with a hinged front and spike-covered interior, sufficiently tall to enclose a human being." [from Wikipedia] 32:23 Like I have said the previous couple of times Luffy used this attack: Red Hawk will never stop being beautiful; both for aesthetic and sentimental reasons. It's a Luffy original attack, his tribute to Ace. Like most moves Luffy thought up during the Time Skip, Red Hawk is also named after an animal (he was training with animals at the time). I think you are confusing it with Fire Fist which was Ace's signature move and from where he got his epithet "Fire Fist Ace". The reason Red Hawk sounds familiar to you is because you have seen Luffy using it a couple of times before.
also One Piece never confirms whether Linlin actually ate her foster family so it's not really a spoiler, it's just generally kinda accepted by the fandom because it makes more sense than them just disappearing into thin air and linlin getting the fruit.
You are right, it was never 100% confirmed. On the other hand, it makes sense that it was left a bit ambiguous; this is still a shōnen manga despite the dark themes it explores.
Katakuri is cool
