Man, that original scene has to go down as one of the most legendary dance routines ever recorded. As a kid, I went to see that movie about 5 different times just because of the broom scene.

All of the local cats would bring their crew down to the warehouse and do sets, all day long. They would always have some cardboard to workout on but, the rich crews.... they would flex by showing up with Linoleum. 😂😂😂

Man, they should have built a whole setting for people to attend this DATE OF CELEBRATION, the Major should have closed the Street OFF, and really give a BIG support to this American Cinematic Masterpiece!! Break-dancing, and BREAKDANCE the movie, helped changed the Music, art and culture of DANCE, FASHION, not only in America, but all over the world! And it still is current! This movie was a great inspiration that which tapped into many of the same struggles I had, (or perceived) through my early twenties .
