Yes during winter electricity is more expensive, this is due to the heater being constantly in use.

How about a student coming with a spouse and she schools in Cranfield University. Is it advisable to live in Milton keynes since its a bigger city than cranfield village and there are chances of better jobs or she should just live in Cranfield or Bradford?

Accommodation in Cranfield might be cheaper than in Milton Keynes. Cranfield is very close to Milton Keynes

From Milton Keynes to Northampton is about 18mins with the train .
Milton keep will be better than Cranfield in terms of many aspects
