I'll see them live in October-got to find out what the new song "Go Easy" is about. This song is more Shambala than a Shambles. Don't follow the anime "Kengan Ashura", but Miku has put various clever references to it in the lyrics. Ashura is one of the Six Ways of Buddhism, one of the realms of rebirth, usually classified as heavenly but sometimes as hellish. Anime apparently has that same ambivalence, and so do the lyrics. English translation is good but some of the Japanese is simply untranslatable. "Kiba" that's untranslated means "Fang" and refers to a class of warrior in the "Kengan" martial world. "Fierce Tiger" is a direct reference to Saiki's favorite baseball team Hanshin Tigers and also evokes the "Two Tigers" of the anime. There's a proverb from Chinese/Japanese literature that's not literally translated but means something like "What seems to be good can turn out to be bad, what seems bad can turn out to be good, sometimes the end of things isn't obvious at first." What's smart about Miku's writing is that the proverb in kanji characters ends with the character for "horse" 馬, and that character is in the full name of the protagonist Ashura in the anime. The line "hand clenched in prayer" in the Japanese lyrics is partly written with two kanji characters that when stuck together make "Kengan". Fans of the anime will find more references I'm sure. Yup, that Miku is pretty clever.
@@OtobokeGaijin6218 They did play Salt Lake City which was the very first KFC franchise (in 1952, I had to check Wikipedia for that small fact). I wouldn't have thought Utah would be a place for a fried chicken franchise. Sports curses are entertaining.
Akane's fills and lead-ins are total beast.....make the hairs on my arms take notice. The harmonies are very "Blooming-esque".......they just keep getting better.
Band-Maids release of "Shambles" was a surprise to most of the Maidiacs ! Does it mean we get a new album ? =) Another newer performance you should check out is "HATE" live from Lollapalooze 2023 ! Misa and Kanami battle it out =) Wecome Back Great Reaction !
Yes, welcome back! Listen to Barry; he speaks the truth. For additional enjoyment, Doc Loco has excerpted both Dice and Hate? from Lollapalooza - you've heard Dice but there hasn't been a really good live version until now (forgetting for the moment that the producer can't find the right camera). The Akane's segue from Dice to Hate? is about as slick as it could possibly be, and Hate? has MISA in all her glory showing why this band is so special (because _she's_ in it) and Micho-mode crazy eyes! Do it!
Totally agree with your comment about how well they do the transitions from hard to soft (to hard). It grabs your attention, but feels so natural and integrated.
Ending theme song for "Kengan Asura" Season 2 released the day after the release of the double best of album... The song was played live multiple times since
They played a new song at the Nagano concert, GO EASY ! The only word so far is that it is a mid-tempo song . Thankfully the cell phone zombies are not allowed in Japan, so we'll have to wait a while to hear it . New album coming out by Yokahama concert in November ?? Wouldn't be surprised !
Sacramento got the first live performance of “Shambles.” And in typical Maid fashion, it’s better live. Before I criticize, I admit to being a loyal, passionate Maidiac. Love these musicians! Your observations of “intricacies and busy-ness” are spot on. Kanami’s guitar work gets lost in the mix. I would rather hear Akane’s drumming over the canned rat-a-tat beat machines in the intro. Too much lo-fi radio filter on Saiki’s magnificent voice. Wishing and hoping for new producers who can get all the intricate stuff from Maid hands to our ears. That said? I like this song. And Band Maid is one of my all-time favorite musicians in history.
Mei does a great guitar cover where you can hear all the wonderful notes that are inaudible in the MV ! Frankly , I don't know how you can do a cover this good without knowing Kanami ! IMO , it's THAT good !

Kinda got a laugh when you stopped a few seconds in to notice Akane doing a ton of stuff. I was sending you a message through the cosmos to tell you that the whole song is going to be like that.

Thanks for the explanation as always!
The Hanshin Tigers are doing well this year. I guess Band-Maid's loyalty to KFC is paying off.
@@surfingasongwave Maybe the Curse of the Colonel has been lifted. Might have helped if B-M had played Kentucky on their US tour.

I saw them at the Ace Of Spades show in Sacramento, CA, which was the first concert they played this song at. They were amazing as always.
Awesome!
Yep, love that whole section starting with the MISA/Mincho solos and then the "drop" into luscious harmonies. (I just wanted to say "luscious.)
Lol nice!

Definitely! Thanks!
I love the clean guitar after the solo. It's like a cool breeze on a hot summer day!
Nice description!
There's no shortage of drummers.
I don't know what that's referring to. lol

Thanks!
The paid fan club section now includes a " Making of Shambles " video ! I would presume it is on Band Maid Prime also .
It is! I saw an email that announced it! Thanks!
