Honestly, jiu jitsu guy should've been like: "Okay, come at me" And then proceed to take the person down, and just straight up manhandle the guy. That's how you know the guy's a black belt if he can cook a human sized omelette.

when the lady was doing the "basic form" , i knew she was a real one im surprised the other TKD blackbelts couldn't recognize one of the forms only TKD blackbelts do
What I found funny about this was that it basically only show cased the flashy sort of martial arts as opposed to practical ones. Of course the second guy voted out is the one that could literally kill all of the others without a sword or machete. I understand there’s a lot of pride in their respective arts, whether it’s been shown time an time again that practically it means nothing in real fight scenarios. I don’t even wanna try to be mean but the fat short chick is the epitome of how TKD hands out black belts like candy.
it's hard to demonstrate his stature within the Jiu-Jitsu hierarchy with a demonstration unless as martial mind points out that he rolls with another black belt. but due to his limited resources I believe maybe he could of demonstrated more of his technique through maybe an attack series? it shows the forward thinking that happens during a roll, and a display of different submissions.
As a boxer who has tried out MMA, I can tell you those kids (especially Keith) were dumb trying to say "Everyone can do that" to the Ju Jitsu guy's demonstration. They're all doing flashy stuff, and he's got work that could actually help him put a mfer to sleep.
Keith was cringe af with the confession but him crying after being vulnerable about his past was good to see how martial arts can help add structure to a troubled persons life
I love to see people's rudimentary understanding of jiu-jitsu like that. "He showed something that could be learned in a class or two!" Meanwhile... "I'm a liar and a disgrace my queens, I hope you can forgive my treacherous ways"
7:30 strikers really tend to underestimate the difficulty of a grappling art. This guy would be so offended if someone said "that Kata could have been memorized with a couple hours of good practice by any ol' martial artist" Just hubris
Martial let me tell you my man, big fan of yours and probably always will be but the moment I saw Keith begin to cry, I immediately left a like and closed the video. Eats me alive to watch something as awkward as that…
As someone who comes from a wrestling background and transitioned into bjj and boxing for cage fighting, these demonstrations look kind of ridiculous. I know it's essentially shadowing which looks weird to outsiders but the culture built around some of these martial arts is goofy to me. Not hating just feel like fundamentals like a good 1-2, a double leg and a guillotine will always beat the fancy spins and throws.
100%. Out of every martial artist there, the two most dangerous are actual the Muay Thai dude and the Jiu Jitsu guy. All the others were kinda comical.
Watch this comment in a few weeks, some weirdo Bruce lee/ hong kong cinema fans are gonna tell you that all that jumping is better as a martial art practice. Eastern martial arts are alot more performative in nature and aren’t usually intended to be used in real scenarios, shaolin warrior monks are all pretty open about this fact. Obviously not all of it is performative and against an unskilled opponent they’re going to be quite effective similar to boxing in that it’s good for self defence in certain scenarios but you place it against muay thai or jujitsu or other combat martial arts and you’ll find it lacking.
It's patern work its traditional.... balance discipline that sorta stuff I don't know anyone who dose it and thinks fu k yeah I'm doing this move in my next fight.

I feel like anyone who's ever competed or trained any combat sports could call this out from the jump. Honestly the one person I don't trust was the blue haired one, not saying she's not trained in something but it's 100% not taekwondo. She called a 2nd degree black belt form a basic color belt form when there are only a few forms tkd even does. She demonstrated bad fight choreography, not even legit sword stuff against another human opponent, and while she could do some flying and high kicks the technique wasn't nearly as crisp as the girl she was calling out. She didn't even believe tkd girl couldn't know what specific style or lineage she's under, when that's completely normal in tkd, it's not like karate or bjj or judo where there's cultural importance in being able to trace yourself back to the founders, it's more like muay thai where you show up and learn and forego specific style names and lineages. The 9 kwons all got together to combine styles decades ago, nobody knows what specific kwon their lineage is under because that wasn't the point. The only styles you can point to are WTF and ITF because ITF descends from a kwon kicked out of the federation because the master tried to say all kwons should just do his style, and so seperated and started his own thing. People like to say ITF is "better, combat oriented" tkd when really it never had the kind of full contact competition and notoriety in kickboxing that WTF had. It's just WTF became heavily point sparring sportified in 2003 and that's why TKD is now considered a mcDojo style like Karate.
