2023 was a great year with both Hubble, Webb and others making new discoveries and producing amazing images. We start out with an update on the DART asteroid collision we covered last year. Staying inside the Solar System, we cover the Parker Solar Probe’s journey through the Suns corona. Moving beyond the Solar System, we’ll see molecular clouds, brown dwarfs, Herbig-Haro objects, and take a deeper look into the Crab and Cassiopeia nebulas. We’ll then do a little astrochemistry in the Iris Nebula. Moving beyond our galaxy, we cover dwarf galaxies, a runaway black hole, a possible intermediate mass black hole, intergalactic stars, and some of the oldest galaxies ever found. We’ll end with the first release images from ‘Euclid,” our newest space telescope.

David Butler is the most trustworthy astro/physics educator on youtube. We can always count on him to present us with the up to date, non sensationalized facts and evidence...alll while explaining it to us better than anyone else.
what you don't like those political guys that (badly) pretend to be natural, while pushing The Narrative
...yes...and without the tiresome ego of some, whom I will not name...
Looonnnngggg life and health to David Butler ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@jamescollier3 I do not. There seems to have been a recent explosion of videos and channels with dumb click bait titles that take real discoveries and evidence and twist them to promote pseudo science or pure speculation.
I like my science to be science, not sensationalized nonsense...or science fiction.
@@jamescollier3yeah, the astrophysics narrative. Everybody knows about that, it's so obvious!!!!!!!!
I am in KENYA 🇰🇪....a third world country with No astrophysics education and yet i have learnt so much from your videos 🙏 thank you David
Good for you
That awesome, keep commenting every now and then.
Would be great to hear about your daily day. Ty for being here. I hope this comment finds you well.
Kind regards, another student of David Butler,

Thank you David Butler - I was looking forward to your annual review, and you did not disappoint. For an armchair astronomer like me, your content is a valuable resource.
Exceptional stuff. We are lucky to have you.
29:05 - Simply incredible. A black hole ejected from a galaxy compressing gas in its wake that causes a trail of star formation. Amazing.
Dear David, I cannot express the gratitude I feel for your presence in our universe. You are the kind of person we teach our children to be.
Hey! Give back Mr Butler. It belongs in our Univese, not Yours!
Thanks David! I always enjoy these yearly wrap ups.
I appreciate the information. As others have said , I can trust your information. Thanks!

Mr Butler, you are a true star..
10,000 views but 1,000 👍??? Cmon folks, let’s get this man the recognition he deserves.
I was surprised to hear the Parker Solar Probe made it so closs to the sun without burning up!
Mr David Butler…Thank you very much
I have the utmost respect for you
I wait for this video every year! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
David I think you deserve more recognition than you are getting the amount of detail that goes into your videos is amazing 😊.
Can we have a video on Arendale (morning star) please 😊😊
There goes my weekend...in a good way
David, we can`t thank you enough for what you provide here.
So awesome to see the latest chapter of this wonderful journey! I can't wait to get a quiet hour on Saturday, to enjoy it! Again, thank you so much, Mr. Butler, for the wonderful and relentless determination dedicated to this channel. I have spent countless hours re-watching these series, until I was almost able to present the subjects myself :). Some of the most enjoyed time spent on youtube. Have a wonderful year ahead!
We've been eagerly awaiting this one sir!
Thank you David. Glaswegian in Switzerland. Love your channel and appreciate your hard work.
Another hit from David Butler. He never fails to reignite my love of the cosmos when it fades. Thank you!
Been looking forward to this video for months now it’s finally here !!! The content never disappoints , thank you David
It's amazing how astronomers have improved their findings because of the latest technology and techniques.
Thanks David for educating me with topics I enjoy!
I've been watching your videos since the first year you started. I actually stumbled upon it by accident, and I am so glad I did. You have been a constant companion through the years and a trusted source for explaining to the common man what many would deem unexplainable. In the beginning, you said you had retired and were starting this series for your grandchildren, which is wonderful. I just wanted to thank you for sharing it with us and our children, or grandchildren, as well.
Very nice. Thanks.
This has been by far, the best channel on UA-cam. I love all of your video books, how you edit it, your narrating and always perfect mix of music. That's just the cherry on top. The great knowledge coming through these videos I'd already so much. Love it great work!!
David, thank you very much. I've been following you for years, and you definitely made my world a better place. I know it has been a rough year for you, I wish you all the peace and happiness you deserve. Thank you again, from a random Italian guy living in Spain.
Thank you Mr. Butler ! This wrap up is superb
Love these reviews I’ve been watching for years
Thank you Mr. Butler for your continued efforts relaying concise astronomical content in your yearly reviews and other videos.
Anxiously awaiting word from you. Prayers friend.
Mr David your videos are the best to inform and teach me about my passion and subject. Thank you.
LOVE these yearly reviews 👍
Wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR
I'm left speechless while enjoying the visually amazing views of the cosmos. I appreciate these videos very much. Computer simulated views are not very interesting that other channels like to use. Thanks very much David Butler!
The best videos. I'm not sure how you put all of this together, but it's amazing. Thank you! 💪😎🐐
David Butler -Thank you for your excellent cosmology and science based content without the search for aliens stuff.
I’m not officially an academic since I had to drop out a decade ago, but I would still love to be at a meet and greet if you ever do one. Idk if you go to fermi lab in Chicago or anything like that, but you’re so chill and so cool, I love your content
Just in time! Thank you!
I often load up a couple dozen of David Butler's videos and fall asleep to them...The dedication and generosity of this man'd sharing of his vast knowledge is towering...
I think what I love most about these videos is that it takes me back to being a kid in the seventies sitting in the UNC planetarium in Chapel Hill. Of course, we didn't have nearly the quality of images that are available today, but his style of narration and the music and the images just take me back. I'd love to see some of these videos shown on the giant dome at the planetarium
Thank you Mr Butler. Your channel is unique. Salut from Montréal Québec !
Thank you Mr. Butler for expanding my knowledge of the universe.
Never usually comment but just want to say I’ve enjoyed your videos for many years. Thank you.

My favorite day of the year. Fantastic as always. Thank you, David
David, your channel has been a wealth of knowledge for this half-witted amateur astronomer. I'll be in Texas with a telescope and camera for the Solar Eclipse in April. I hope the weather favors! 🙏
Those Herbic-Haro pics from Webbb are absolutely jaw-dropping
Right
National treasure, thank you David
Thank you sir 😊
Thank you sir
If they awarded an Oscar for documentaries on YT the decision would be simple.
Thank you for another great video
David, thank you for your deep knowledge of everything outside of what we see on our planet Earth. I've been a follower for many years, and the learning never stops. Again, thank you for your work

I’ve been waiting for this
I have learnt everything I know about Astronomy from Davids video books. Ten years ago my knowledge of the cosmos was very limited till I started watching Davids, "How far away is it " video books.
