FAQs-
Q: "Where is this?"
A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Q: "What is the spinning thing?"
A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.
Q: "What camera are you using?"
A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 7, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080
Never ceases to amaze me how many are either blissfully ignorant to the world around them or arrogant enough to think themselves more important than a firetruck, ambulance or police cruiser. They never once seem to think, "That Firetruck might be heading to my home! That Ambulance might have my loved one inside!"
I'm going to go with ignorant over arrogant. There are a LOT of people who don't use their mirrors properly and when they hear a siren, they wonder "where is that siren coming from" and have no idea it's behind them.
I live in an extremely densely populated country and I have never seen the emergency services hindered. However if you want to get your drivers license here you need to get classes from a licensed instructor. They drill a lot of the etiquette into you... not sure if you get fined for it if its accidental, but i think they can get into serious problems if it intentional. Professional instruction or not... scanning where the emergency service is and taking action is common sense. It could be your life on the line next and seconds can count. Greets
These videos are very entertaining
Second video in 2 days! Sweet!
Nice video as always. Stay safe fellow firefighters.
Im always amazed with the amount of people that yield. Where I live you never see that.
You guys need rumble sirens with the bass boost for distracted drivers. They use them a lot here in Australia the sound bounces more when enabled.
More ride along videos. Where's your Dalmatian?
Screaming & dreaming
Oblivious driver: “I justttttt got to get by one more car that pulled to the right for the fire truck”
Oh man the same location as yesterdays video, what are the odds lol.
Ouch... Great driving!
