I thought the exact same thing. In fact, I only stumbled upon this movie because I was watching a Marauders Era video, and looked through the comments because I was interested in where the clips came from. 😂
YESS and there's also a redheaded in the movie so i got absolutely shocked, but i think no one used her as Lily because in the movie she is his mother 😐
1:06 If you look closely on John's face you can see how he goes from joking around teasing this younger dude, to sudden shock and disbelief when he begins to realise that Paul is about to play one of his favourite songs.
All the Liverpool boys loved Elvis, from their swagger to dressing style, it was all early Elvis. It's only later on they took more from blues and RnB artists.
I imagine this is much like how it was in real life, you always got the notion that Paul was trying hard to impress John throughout the entire Beatles lifetime, just to get a nod of appreciation
Ivan Vaughan went to Dovedale Junior School a close friend of Lennon- they both passed the Eleven Plus Exam- Vaughans parents didn’t want him to hang around with John so when they knew he was going to Quarrybank they sent Ivan to Liverpool Institute where he ultimately met Paul- had he gone to Quarry bank he may never have become acquainted with him and the introduction that changed history may never have happened
Ooh, well I got a girl with a record machine When it comes to rockin' she's the queen We love to dance on a Saturday night All alone where I can hold her tight But she lives on the twentieth floor uptown The elevator's broken down So I'll walk one, two flight, three flight, four Five, six, seven flight, eight flight, more Up on the twelfth I'm startin' to drag Fifteenth floor I'm a-ready to sag Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock
I was in Liverpool for my holidays last week and one day we took a taxi to Woolton. I was taken into St Peter's church hall. Embedded in the floor close to the side wall were three circular black markers with J on one, P on another and I on a third to mark the spots where Ivan Vaughan introduced Paul to John.
My favorite band of all time, im from the Philippines and i really love the Beatles! I remember when i was in grade school, i skip my classes just to watch their BEATLES ANTHOLOGY in our 14" black and white tv lol that was 30 years ago wayback in the late 80's and im only 8 years old yeah u heard it right im just 8 years old during that time😁
I went to the church hall in Woolerton Village where John Lennon and McCartney met. There is a plaque on the wall outside telling what John thought of his meeting with Paul. He basically said that's when he knew, right there, that they were going to make it big. Very big!! It was basically where John & Paul became Lennon & McCartney.
0:31 I think I heard somewhere that Paul said that when he first saw John perform his guitar playing was really bad and John got half the words of the song wrong but that he had something about him as he performed. And I'm sure he also said that when he first met John afterwards he could smell the beer on his breath.
I wonder if they actually took the original guitar playing for this scene or if they've overdubbed it later on, because as a guitarist myself, I find it hard to believe, that anyone can relearn playing guitar on a left-handed guitar that well and that fast... I know the actor allegedly did exactly that, but I doubt that it would have sounded that good...
The SNES Man That's not what I meant. I was wondering if you can hear what the actor - who's playing Paul - plays in this actual scene with his lefty guitar or if he is only pretending and if they later overdubbed this scene with a recording of him playing a right-handed guitar.
Madeleine Kenny I heard that too, still it seems kind of unbelievable to me that he achieved to be that good at it in the relatively short time he had to prepare. As a guitarist myself I can assure you that - at least for me - it wouldn't be possible since the fact that I can play right-handed guitar doesn't help me in the slightest if I'm trying to play with a lefty-guitar... You have to basically relearn it all over again and although the song played in the video is relatively easy, it would still take *at least* a year of intense practice to be able to play it that flawlessly if had to start from scratch (at least for me). The fact that we never see him singing and playing at the same time and that we rarely can see his fingers at all in this scene is suspicious too I think. I believe his lefty-guitar skill was merely good enough to mimic the correct fingering (which would still be very hard for me) an that he later dubbed it playing a regular right-handed guitar.
@@BarelloSmith I just watched an interview, where he talked about how he learned to play left-handed. Now I see why you're suspicious about this. Now here is what happened: He practised playing guitar left-handed before they started filming. So he had more time practising and therefore, in fact, was as skilled as shown here in this clip. If they took the sound of the guitar and his voice in that particular scene or recorded it beforehand and played it here I don't know for sure. But he did learn how to play the guitar left-handed and sang and played it himself, no one did that for him.
@@sapphirelesbian2414 Thanks! :) I had no doubt that what you can hear in the movie was all played and sung by him. I've just doubted that he has played it on a lefty guitar. I still do... xD I think he probably was good enough to get it visually right, but they probably dubbed the sound over a recording I think... In any case, kudos to him!
