I need a David Choe, Rob Liefeld Cartoonist Kayfabe Christmas special.
The most enthusiastic guy in comics, I never get tired of Rob's stories and I love seeing you guys not being able to stop smiling. This is what comics and Neal did to all of us!
Adams even used some collage on that ''angel'' page... Those are drum cymbals near the top.
A great celebration of Adam's work! Liefeld's enthusiasm jumps out of the screen.
Being in the UK Superman vs Muhammad Ali was a little tougher to get but I remember the day I got my hands on it! I'd ordered it from a comic shop in Notting Hill and I was on the phone to them every day about it. I must have driven them crazy, because the owners wife actually delivered it to where I worked! I was sitting at my desk and she just walked in and said; "Here you are." and put it in my hands.
I finally got it it autographed by Neal in 2016 when I visited Continuity Studios. The cover art is on display in his gallery and when I saw that, it was a religious experience!!! I must have just stood there and absorbed it for some time....
Thank goodness this man brought his skills and insights to comics and raised the bar so high.
Read more comics!!
I could listen to Rob talk about comics all day... his is so passionate about comic books!
You have to do more shows with Rob. Love his enthusiasm and insights into the creative process.
The relationships you guys can build to do this sort of thing are a real testament to your love of the art form and the respect that clearly comes from that. Awesome!
Rob completely took over the show with such passion for Neal's Work
i loved every minute of it
thank you guys !!
God Bless Neal Adams. 🙏🏼
I met Neal Adams at a convention when I was about 13. I was afraid to talk to him so I gave him a fist bump instead. He was a terrific artist.
Great episode! Rob is such a good addition.
Gracias por este homenaje al mas grande!!!!!! Neal Adams 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Rob is a great storyteller in comics and IRL. Love his eternal youth enthusiasm
JOHN BYRNE Inc. is, a kind of phenomenal, amalgamation of Kirby, Adams, and Giraud (Blueberry Period). I think i see a nice bit of Toth in Adam's work. Amazing illustrators for sure!
and Rob, whenever i mention the epic adventures of IRON JAW, people look at me sideways with no idea what i'm talking about!
23:10 I never thought I'd ever see Howard Cosell in a comic book, never mind that the drawing of him is SPOT-ON!
I love the way Rob is so happy to let his love of the medium show.
You should do Neal Adams X-Men because it's some of the first Exposure to X-Men I had thanks to my Dad who passed away in February so I've been drawing to help take my mind somewhere else for a few hours a day, he loved telling me about the 80s X-Men and other comic's that made him want to be an artist
I really enjoyed Neals design for Havok and Polaris
It's a shame that we lost a lot in such a close space of time, it's been pretty rough ngl because my dad meant so much to me and now it's just a painful blow because he had artwork he never finished & I never told him how much his influence meant to me as an artist myself
we need more episodes like this!
Superman vs Ali is my favorite pre Crisis DC comic of all time.
Holy Grail!
you guys with Rob are the best. love this!
He drew two World's Finest and that was the only other time he drew Superman in a comic.
Forgot about that Superman/New Gods comic he just did! LOL!
Man I love Neil Adams art he was so good.
Phenomenal episode.
What an episode!
Thank you for this, especially for the comments on ALI! He REALLY was that huge back in the day. i remember my town coming to screeching halt during the Thrilla in Manila.
That's Cartoonist Kayfabe!
Fantastic book by one of the greatest to ever do comics! Having Rob in the mix was awesome. Rob has such a depth of knowledge and love for comics that it is always enjoyable hear his take. RIP Neal Adams.
Rob Liefeld is a treasure. The man has comics running in his veins. Wouldn't in make so much more sense to see a guy like Liefeld as editor-in-chief of Marvel than Mr. Fake Japanese person?
Robs enthusiasm is so pure and contagious ❤️
Love you guys so much! Keep up the amazing work!!
Loved this. So good. Thank you. Rest easy Mr. Adams
Always glad to see Rob on the show.
I bought the deluxe hardcover of this. Love the videos with Rob!
Adams' Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali one-shot tabloid-sized one-shot treasury is an all-time classic, bar none!
Great interview, just ask Rob one question and he off!! 😂 what a great fella 👍🏼
I worked at continuity studios for about eight years, the Burbank version, and that movie you’re talking about neal directing also had another name called ‘Nannas (as in bananas) thats was the whole title, the story behind it is actually bananas too.
Rob Liefeld ist a realy great guy! Thank you.
Fantastic! I have to listen to Liefeld's podcast. Didn't Neal Adams do interior superman comic art for World's Finest? I may be wrong.
Great video, guys! When Superman vs.Muhammed Ali came out I was 18 years old and living with my sister in California! I bought it and quit my shitty job that afternoon and sat in McD’s having lunch and being blown away this Super 💎 gen! Rob is so damn correct with this book! Love his honest enthusiasm! Godspeed to Neal Adams!
BRB, gotta find that movie....
Was Mike Nasser one of the Adams clones that Liefeld mentioned? I believe Mike Grell was accused of being a Neal Adams clone as well.
rob's enthusiasm weirdly reminds me of ed's. I think rob is a tad louder (in a good way!) than ed, but they're pretty close in intensity, earnestness, and just that it never turns off. we miss you ed.
Rob Liefeld should play Rob Liefeld in the Rob Liefeld Biopic.
Rob effin Liefield!!
He just comes through and says,
I'm Rob Liefield I just draw comics.
That some epic ish rigjt their.
The best Neal Adams work I ever saw is the Ben Casey strip he drew in his early twenties, coming out of Johnstone & Cushing. Crazy good for his young age- or any age, really. No collection of this stuff in print, as far as I know, I hope that changes soon.
Rob is a treasure!
Wow fantastic
The way Neal Adams draws Superman is kinda hot.
I've got a couple of portfolios signed by Neal Adams > had 'em for decades
How cool is to talk geeky stuff with the Kurt Cobain of comics? 😎
Like Jesus is to the Bible rob is to comics!
(Rob always cool)
😊😊
🖤✌️
