After a beautiful hike through the jungle and through the mountains, we finally make it to the swimming areas and the waterfalls. That is crazy. I was there in 1998 and it was not anywhere near so crowded or well known. There was hardly anything there - a couple vendors, some picnic tables and the hike in was just a footpath through the hills. The CR was a couple little sheds with holes in the ground. Waterfall is exactly the same though. Still beautiful.
I actually broke my back (L5) on my second jump about 15 years ago. Right on that exact same spot where you jumped. 😁 Kawasan was still a hidden gem that time and we had the whole place for ourselves. I'm surprised of what it has become today. Anyway, more power, Wil! Stay safe.
Back in college 25 years ago, my friends and I visited this beautiful place and it was not crowded at all. I remember how we walked so far to get there but it was worth it. But it's overwhelming overcrowded now. It's crazy.
When i was a kid, wala pa ng mga balay ug cottages diha, and the walk going to the falls is all trees, walk thru mud😁, lots of mosquitoes, not crowded And No entrance fee😁😁😁lahi na gyud kaayo karon but the water is still beautiful😍 my husband loved kawasan falls

Its not the most beautiful thing/place in the world wil but for cebuanos its the memories, the laughter that we’ve shared when we we’re there that makes it so beautiful. 🥰
Back in 2016, the water going to the main falls was literally Blue and there were plenty of fish. But in 2018, when i came back, the water was no longer blue (except for the first basin). So saddening. Hope the LGU will rehabilitate it.

5-6 years ago I went to Kawasan Falls with my family. As far as I can remember we were the only people there. There was a tour guide but no one really official. No stores. Seriously just a cr. I miss how it used to be.
The first time we went to Kawasan falls was actually kinda disappointing maybe bcs it was super crowded that time. Nature's beauty is gone😔😔😔

The bad thing about Kawasan falls is that sometimes it's too crowded but still the place was really wonderful. I've been there before and you will really enjoy the cold water and the waterfalls as well.

The canyoneering trek at Kawasan is awesome! The problem is the trek ends where at Kawasan Falls where all the tourists are coming up from the highway. So, the number of people doubles!

I understand your point Kuya Will, Let us just hope, Kawasan Falls will not be deteriorate, sana man lang may limited carrying capacity na pinapatupad yung management. Well, maganda yung income nila kasi maraming tourist but kapag nasira yung destination wala na.
I am from Cebu and have only been to Kawasan falls once because its too far from our house and needs a long hike, but I must say its really a breathtaking place minus all the people. If only the place is more taken cared of, and the people are controlled its definitely somewhere you want to go back to a hundred times despite all the traffic and hiking
i'm from Cebu and i also wouldn't recommend kawasan falls due to the crowd. there are other places in Cebu that you can enjoy with less crowd.
Would you suggest a few places?
Kawasan Tip :
1. Never go there on weekends or holidays coz locals will swarm the place. It's their "off" time.
2. Go there early to have a good IG pics. Past 8... it's already crowded.
3. Start exploring Kawasan at the 1st level first going to 3rd level. If you start at 3rd level, by the time you'll be at first level it will already be crowded.
So, never go there on weekends/holidays, go early, start at the first level.

Watching this video makes my heart melt. Since I was in highschool (15years ago) every time na uuwi kami ng Cebu hindi mawawwla ang Kawasan sa list. Back in the day when there are military stationed there due to npa, walk ways not been pave yet, small bamboo bridge to get to the other side, not to many people go there before which you can really enjoy the nature and beauty of it. However throughout the time I saw it deteriorates, lalo na nung nauso yung canyoneering. Humina din yung tubig sa falls and its over crowded now a days. Its good it creates jobs for the locals pero dami na din basura ngayun dyan. Its sad. Hindi lang kawasan pati sanoslob over crowded din. I really hope our can do something in controlling the number of visitors na pwedeng mag punta sa mga nature parks. Hindi yung puro isip lang kumita ng pera.
I was there early this month on a Saturday and it was a schoolholiday, the place was twice as packed and there was traffic jams walking down from the falls. You should have done the canyoneering from the top of the mountain all the way down to the falls. Even with the crowd, kawasan falls was beautiful
I’ve been there also last April 11 and was shocked by the crowd AND THOSE PLASTIC UMBRELLAS, why??? They should have bamboo huts or kubo instead of those big umbrellas. But Cebu is AMAZING ❤️

First time I went to Kawasan Falls was back in 1999. It was still quite deserted back then, No cottages and umbrellas back in those days. I didn't go in though.. It's where my friend's brother drowned.. And apparently there's like a pattern to it depending on the year... If you believe these kinds of things..
Awwwww you missed going to the third level of the falls which was the ultimate bec it is very beautiful & clean. You also see shrimps down & the source of the water forms Jacuzzi like pool & only a very few go there so its great.! Im sad you miss it..
Was there in April. No doubt. Kawasan Falls is insanely beautiful and huge. Got my workout just by exploring the place.

I'm from Pampanga and I've been to Kawasan twice already. And both times, I stayed at Hostel La Vista. Very homey! Must try ang luto ni Uncle Joe haha
im glad i was able to enjoy this before the instagram era. i remember back then for some reason there were lobsters in cages in the waters that were for sale.. Now adays, I think the best times to go here is on ber months on a weekday if you get lucky with a sunny day. if you head up on a weekend in summer, most likely it will be a bit touristy.

Yeah... I've been there 2 yrs ago and we walked more or less 2 km from the gate. I almost gave up but i was afraid i might lost. Too many people because the falls got first, second and third floor. So beautiful that you can see many tourist around. Amazing falls indeed
It used to be so peaceful, until it was discovered by people, we went there before it became very famous. I hope you still enjoyed it.

Plant a Tree for every birthday you have. Also if possible Avoid Plastic Straws. And go fetch your self Metal or Bamboo straws🌱🌳

Wow, I was there 9 years ago in March of 2011 and there was almost no one there. I could probably share about my wife (Carolyn) and I on our visit there... I was surprised by the color of the water because it was soo blue and the water felt cold to me as well. We hiked all 3 waterfalls (I believe). It was fun. We got there at night time and got a room for the night. Then we explored the next morning. It was awesome :)

Now is the best time to visit Kawasan falls. No traffic and you’ll appreciate the view better and enjoy the water with few people swimming near you
If you actually go during the none peak season and on a weekday it’s actually pretty empty! Me and my husband recently went around January 2019 and we had a tour guide all to ourselves and the falls had some people. We didn’t have to edit anyone out in our pictures!

Cebu is one of the most perfect living places, a mix of urban and rural life.
when i went to kawasan it was so quiet, around the early 1990s but today there are still days that it is less crowded. dont go there on weekends and holidays.

There should be a proper ecotourism act. With proper implementing procedures/bylaws to protect natural attractions. People won’t understand limits in the Philippines but that’s how it’s done here in New Zealand
If you want to visit Cebu? Kawasan Falls Canyoneering Adventure must be one of the bucket list. Most adventure and daring trip you could imagine. Nothing can compare anywhere in the World.

I’ve been there last month also and I was so disappointed because it’s too crowded. Good thing we did Canyoneering in Cambais Falls before heading to Kawasan. It’s the highlight of our trip because it’s not we’ll known so we’re the only people who went there and we enjoyed swimming unlike Kawasan.
When I was a kid, we spent the night at the kawasan, there was nobody there, but us. We had the waterfalls for ourselves. There was only one cottage. The water was so cold. We walked thru mud etc. We have to bring our own food,water and stuff. The hike was arduous. The stuff we brought were heavy.
Careful on the highest jump, I was there when the Korean guy went chest first and died. Heard he had been drinking.
The best hike ever though!! But I agree I bet there are a lot more waterfalls in cebu. 👍

A good time going to Kawasan Falls with just a few crowd more or less are non holidays, weekdays, and off season.
You have to visit off peak season. It is so nice.

I totally agree with your point. As you have mentioned in your previous vlogs the key is Moderation.
Maybe have a max capacity of people let in the site for each day for safety and security.
Also maybe have a close season where they totally close it for a month or so depending on research or recommendation of experts so as to let nature heal or rebound from all that human activity.

I went there during the ber months and it was amazing! It was like a private resort for us. I would suggest for you to go there during weekdays and ber months 😁
It only got that way when canyoneering became a thing in Kawasan. It was pure and beautiful with so much less people back then.

The other falls are nice. When we reached Kawasan, omg daming tao. But still nice. Didn't jump sa 45 feet kasi sobrang nakakatakot. Good job, Wil! Medyo mali lang jump kaya sakit pwet. Hehe

Don't visit kawasan during summer when it's school break to avoid the crowd. Also avoid weekends and holidays. Kawasan is beautiful when it's serene. :)

You should go really early if you want to see kawasan without so much people. 5-6 am is a good time to go 😊
