In the next reforger update, medics are going to become a lot more necessary as injuries to the legs will drastically slow you down, and in general wounds are way more punishing. Hopefully to see more ambulances driving around
Great video. It’s fun embracing the role playing in this game. I ran logistics for supplies for an entire month and also base building and fortifying. After watching this I’d like to give a combat medic role a go
Medic enjoyer here: If you’re brand new and wondering how much to bring and when to apply it, I’ll give you a detailed rundown of how to effectively medic. For conflict, I personally bring 12-14 bandages, 4 tourniquets (one for each limb), 4 morphine, and 2 saline. You don’t want too much saline or morphine in your saved loadout because they costs supplies. You can always find morphine on dead bodies and saline isn’t actually required most of the time. When you see someone who is incapacitated, your first step should be to check their injuries. If they only have a Minor Injury and nothing else, you can leave them be, they’ll wake up shortly. You can, however, give them morphine and then search them to take their morphine to replenish your stock (it’s usually in their trousers). If they are bleeding (especially if they are heavily bleeding), your next immediate step should be to tourniquet any limbs that may be bleeding. The game can be a bit janky so sometimes you need to move around a little to get a prompt. Next, regardless of whether their arms are bleeding or not, you should check their head, chest, and abdomen (basically, their torso and head areas) to see if they are bleeding. These are vital areas that will cause them to bleed out very quickly. I typically start with the head first and then move down. You can always make your own judgments based on how fast they’re bleeding from certain areas (based on how quickly their clothes are becoming drenched in blood). After vital organs are secured, your next immediate step should be to bandage their limbs if any are bleeding. Be sure to not accidentally take off the tourniquet when you bandage them. You will get a drop-down menu on the tourniquet limb-scroll down on it and it’ll give you the option to bandage them with a bandage in your hand. After all tourniquet limbs are secured, remove the tourniquets and double check that they’re not bleeding. If they’re no longer bleeding, give them morphine next. This will speed up the recovery process by a little and help them wake up faster. Finally, you can assess if they need saline by how much they’ve bled through their clothes. If they’re look like they sat in a blood bath, some saline would be recommended. The easiest way to tell if someone needs saline is by asking them if their vision is going gray. If that’s the case, they need saline immediately or they’ll die. You can also ask them to check their blood levels after they wake up by checking their inventory as shown in the video. I know this is a lot to digest so if it seems complicated, I get it. It’s a lot simpler than it seems once you get a little practice in. A good way to practice being medic is to open a private GM server, spawn an AI ally, injure them, and practice the procedure I described. The easiest way to practice critical injuries (when someone is nearly FUBAR) is to spawn someone next to a vehicle and destroy the vehicle via GM powers. Make sure they’re just close enough so that they won’t immediately die. You can also try grenades.
I was going to disagree with the saline first (imo last) but its a good point that sometimes bleeding out is imminent and saline may be immediately necessary.
Can you make a video on how to acquire all the medical necessities. I am new to arma, and it seems like when you spawn or respawn, you are just a infantry personnel. If that means saving load out, please explain that and show would help
Maybe it's different for conflict ,which I havnt played yet, but in combat ops etc supplies are basically useless because it's faster and easier to just respawn and hike back. 😅
i played alot medic and i heard that putting saline when they're still bleeding is a bad idea "its like putting more water in a cup with a hole in it" sooo idk i think ur right cus it would make more sence but idk
Imo it works the best sometimes their just loosing to many blood units and you can't bandage faster then the bleed out. However a saline bag gives you more time to do so 👍. They will benefit from it after bandaging is complete also
@@DamageDealtGaming1990yeah but what you might not realize is that if the arm that you put the saline on is bleeding, you cannot bandage that arm because it’s blocked by the saline bag. Which means that if they’re heavily bleeding from that arm, they’ll lose more blood than they gain and can’t stop it either
I really hate it when people dont like sit still for me to like heal them, like stay the fuk down 😂😂 and lay down stop moving and let me heal you buddy. I didnt grab these extra morphine and bandages for nothing. And then they complain avout dying anf im like "not my fault, you couldnt just sit still that i accidentally morphine myself"
I don't think you've experienced the ambulance and the field hospitals full potential yet. Hotbar the first aid kit and you can fully heal patients in a short time, but it only works in the vicinity of those two. And if you're going to make a new video with that, you might want to include the fact that morphine in a unconscious state will bring the patient down further into comatose. Only use morphine on conscious patients. The way you're using the saline bag was news to me, makes sence though. Thanks!
Yeah i knew about the morph shot when downd guess I could have added that just in case. Ppl have also said it makes you bleed out faster but when I tested it, it didn't. I was going to go into more detail but sometime to much info at one time leads to confusion later lol. I'm just getting beginners ready. Thanks for that info didn't know u needed to be near the ambulance I thought it was field hospital only
@DamageDealtGaming1990 Not near, in a ambulance. And I believe there's a limit to what you can do with the ambulance. I wish the field hospitals beds were working, cause it's so much easier to work on a none moving patient.
Great video! Just one question... Why would you play combat medic when everyone takes medic stuff from arsenal? Everyone in vanila game is combat medic🤷 So... What is the point?
I for one think that Medic should be a whole different class on the field. They should have the helmet and bag with the red cross on it. They should be the only ones who can drive the ambulances. They should be non-combatant and unable to pick up firearms. If you or an enemy kills a medic on either team it should be counted like a friendly kill and get points deducted for killing a medic.
I disagree I think people should be able to pick and decide in game. If you start making classes it just turns it like battlefield what would be next making supply runners a class and only they are allowed to drive transports and build and collect supplies?
@@xsaytinx4495agree, however, I think having real consequences for breaking the Geneva convention would be nice. So in a medic’s case, if they have everything a medic would need (uniform and medical bag), and they also don’t have any weapon on them, the game will register that they are to be protected, similarly to a civilian. The game will punish players for killing them so long as they meet the criteria.
Nah that would make for some terrible troll gameplay. Imagine a team of medics running around an active combat site picking up actual combatants. What are you supposed to do? Just let em lol

More ambulances, I'm in!
Really they are gonna add that?
@@Jovy7pro you can test it out in the experimental branch (if your on pc) get someone to shoot you in the leg and see how slow you move
they need to add a heavy punishment for purposeful respawning then.
Does it not already drastically slow you down to take damage to the legs?

Its one of my favorite parts about arma! Everyone has a job and they all matter! Gives players options
With the medkit you need supplies nearby to aquire saline and morphine. Such as loading 30 supplies into the ambulance.
Thank you! I will add more in a future video for advanced medical
Cheers for the tips.
Never was sure exactly how important the saline bag was.
Very! And ur welcome thanks for watchin

thanks for this!
I want to add that the quickest way to spot injures is to hold alt and move the mouse: u will see special action icons near the wounds
@ that’s a great point, I always forget that
I definitely want to try the medic role more. Vanilla servers dont allow for the role play as much though
i agree with you there! right now everyone is a medic lol

Seems to be my luck anyways lol 😆
Guide on how to take out Russian hackers?
Ahah same here cant get on to the game
i wish lol
Thanks again for the video! Love Arma!
Its a great game
great video, thanks!
You're welcome!
Thank you sir!!!🫡
No problem! 👍
Not bad as a former team medic in my Unit i concur, its great being a medic in this game
Thank you sir! I looked up to you guys like Angels 😇

Yes I can! I’ll make a video on getting meds and load outs asap
for now yes save your loadout if you want to respawn with the gear you had
Game needs to add some screams to downed soldiers. That will surely help people get into becoming medics etc.
I add the screams myself.
MEDIC, OH GOD. MEEEDIC I CANT FEEL MY SPLEEN!
@up_dogF1 😆
Thanks this was very informative.
No problem, save some lives 👍
great video mate.... we need more decent medics out there!
Thanks! Just trying to help
Can u show how medkit and med tent / ambulance provides full health recovery ?

Saline better after Bandage
i have to disagree lost plenty of mates due to loss of blood before i could bandage everything. never had this problem with saline first
