Quem financia isso tudo? Algum universitário que só conhece corredores e auditórios e no máximo uma biblioteca??? Que cata dinheiro para ao menos ir no cinema?! E depois se vc invade uma terra vc abre precendente para que outro grupo, usando o mesmo argumento invada a sua também e assim consecutivamente vira uma terra dos sem leis onde o mais forte é quem manda. Rita was interested in various "pagan" religions, but she was also a christian, having been raised catholic. So her naming love as a christian thing and sex as a pagan thing, it's not hierarchical, she values paganism as much as she does christianism, and values sex as much as she does love. Her guitarrist, Roberto de Carvalho, was also her husband. But they were lovers for much longer then they were married. They only got married after more than 20 years together. Famously, their relationship began with them playing a piano together during a party at Rita's house in the 70s, to which Roberto was brought along by another famous guest, Ney Matogrosso. Rita and Roberto fell in love while playing music together, ended up in bed together and never realized the guests had left the party. In her autobiography Rita says in a way, that night never ended, they just kept making love and music together ever after. Together they created many classics of brazlian rock and rolll, roberto usually providing the melody to rita's lyrics. Their favourite song says "We make love by telepathy. On the ground, on the sea, on the moon... and in melody." (Some critics even said her songwriting "weakened" after she met roberto because the themes of love and sex became more recurrent in her songs, but who cares about critics and their cinicism, right?) So you can see how Amor e Sexo really conveys the deep conection she experienced in her real life.

Ome thing that I must say here: When you listen to that song in portuguese and you're a native portuguese speaker, the lyrics sound even more amazing! We try to put it into english subtitles but lots pf things are lost you know? E que conhecimento da terra tem esses cortadores de cana de açúcar? Quem paga um agrônomo para enciná_los? Quanto custa um professor técnico? Quem pagou o hotel dele? E se um dia a terra produzir, como o vegetal chega na cidade mais próxima??? _ Tudo isso é tempo e dinheiro, e muito tempo e muito dinheiro _ Homem não é tatu que você joga na terra e ele arruma um buraco e um inseto prá comer. Quem financia isso tudo? Algum universitário que só conhece corredores e auditórios e no máximo uma biblioteca??? Que cata dinheiro para ao menos ir no cinema?! E depois se vc invade uma terra vc abre precendente para que outro grupo, usando o mesmo argumento invada a sua também e assim consecutivamente vira uma terra dos sem leis onde o mais forte é quem manda. O M.S.T. vai vender essas terras incadidas e fazer caixa para mais invasões... / Seria mil vezes mais fácil fazer um movimento "dos sem trabalho" arrumar emprego para os colonos nas fazendas _ vai dar um hospital inteiro para um médico que se forma? Um colégio inteiro para cada novo professor? Uma terra inteira para cada colono? O m.s.t. é uma farça criminosa para universitários teóricos defenderem entre um cigarro 🚬 de maconha e outro, até o dia que invadirem uma terra sua aí o cigarro cai da boca.

Rita was interested in various "pagan" religions, but she was also a christian, having been raised catholic. So her naming love as a christian thing and sex as a pagan thing, it's not hierarchical, she values paganism as much as she does christianism, and values sex as much as she does love. Her guitarrist, Roberto de Carvalho, was also her husband. But they were lovers for much longer then they were married. They only got married after more than 20 years together. Famously, their relationship began with them playing a piano together during a party at Rita's house in the 70s, to which Roberto was brought along by another famous guest, Ney Matogrosso. Rita and Roberto fell in love while playing music together, ended up in bed together and never realized the guests had left the party. In her autobiography Rita says in a way, that night never ended, they just kept making love and music together ever after. Together they created many classics of brazlian rock and rolll, roberto usually providing the melody to rita's lyrics. Their favourite song says "We make love by telepathy. On the ground, on the sea, on the moon... and in melody." (Some critics even said her songwriting "weakened" after she met roberto because the themes of love and sex became more recurrent in her songs, but who cares about critics and their cinicism, right?) So you can see how Amor e Sexo really conveys the deep conection she experienced in her real life.

Ome thing that I must say here: When you listen to that song in portuguese and you're a native portuguese speaker, the lyrics sound even more amazing! We try to put it into english subtitles but lots pf things are lost you know? It sounds simple and you already noticed how amazing the lyrics are with english subtitles, but I guarantee that when you fully understand portuguese is even more awesome!!! The musicality, the poetry of it, everything fits sooo perfectly!!! And all of that came from the awesome love Rita shared with her husband Roberto, cause they composed many many famous songs of them together!!! She used to say that the thing they had together was magical cause ideas would just flow, the melodies would come and the lyrics as well, and they build maaany awesome songs that are just like GOLDEN to brazilians, she was really our gem!!! Every brazilian loves and knows her songs, and we just love all the personality that Rita Lee had and showed us. When we knew she passed away, all of us felt it deeply cause she was like this person that everybody loves without even knowing her personally, you know? I cried A LOT cause her songs talked to me on a level that just made me feel home and not alone, as I'm the black sheep of the family just like she used to sing in her song "Ovelha negra" 😅😅😅 I just loooove her fun personality, how she was a brave woman to do and say things in a time where woman couldn't say shit, you know? And she was and still is a very important person for me once she's a woman just like me!! She inspired me to be who I always wanted to be, to speak up and use my voice and my free will as a woman!!
