43 Shots, 4-3 score, #43 with the game winner. As Horvat would say: "I'll tell you that four three"
Oh Canada, I stand on guard FOUR THREEEEE.
I think about this comment daily.
once i sobered up & could read it properly & understand it for some reason sounding like the swedish chef I laughed my head off. So thanks.
Honestly it's so awesome to see Vancouver doing so well. As a Vancouverite it's nice having a solid team to cheer for again.
I couldn't agree more. It's fun to watch hockey again.
Definitely helps the vibe in the city
I'm not a Canucks fan personally, but after the Sedin brothers left/retired I knew y'all had fallen into a slump.
Super glad to see them playing so hot now. Go Canucks!
FLAMES here YES I like it Too BRING THE CUP HOME !!!!
I could not agree more, Kent!
in case anyone is wondering what John Shorthouse was saying to Dave: Canucks are 1st in the West and tied in NHL leading scorers
with Elias Pettersson, JT Miller, and Quinn Hughes at 26 points each.
thx
Thanks so much. The editor is pretty sneaky on that one!
Thanks! No one on the planet would have believed Canucks would be number one in the west with the top 3 leading scorers. This is insane. I love it!
Was about to rant about how they cut it right after he set that up haha
God send dude I was so rattled 😂
Dang the way the crowd erupted when Quinn potted that OT goal
And that filthy move and pass by Miller drawing both Islander players
F I L T H Y
and The Mighty Quinn oozing with confidence and dominance
Miller, Pettersson, and Hughes all T1 in league scoring, insane.
And Boeser
T1 in goals, Hronek 3rd in defenseman points, best goals for/goals against in the lead
6 canucks all stars this yr
What a perfect game to send off the torch from the old captain to the new. Bo was in line for the game winner with the 3rd Islanders goal until Quinn came through in Overtime, fittingly to seal the game for the Canucks with the 4th goal. It was poetic as the final 4-3 score matched Quinn's Jersey number.
Plus it was the 43rd shot of the game for Vancouver.
Not showing the Cole goal line save is criminal
Editor rly out here trying to end his day quicker smh
No cole save?
Do better, Sportsnet, or we will all start to watch the NHL page. You can't just omit key parts of the game like that. If it makes the video longer, so be it. 15 minute highlights is fine. Just don't mess up like that again.

Was a very good game to watch, so proud of our Canucks!! Poor Kuzmenko hope he's okay. Let's go Vancouver!
Ah man! What happened to Kuzy?
@@erikwsince1981 ate a puck, was down for a good minute unfortunately
Kuzy is fine according to reports
@@brucemacmillan9581 great news
after miller destroyed kuz with a slapper, he bravely stood in front. what a guy
Hronek doesn't get much of the spotlight from the media but he's been really good and is largely part of the reason Quinn has been so good this year.
I'd say Quinn is probably doing a slight majority of the heavy lifting but that is certainly no slight on Hronek
He’s gonna get a big raise in the offseason. So far that trade is looking real good.
I was surprised when wings traded Hronek
Remember when everyone was crying about that trade 😂
Think they're regretting it? Despite how well Justin Holl has played for them?@@user-yt9gy4wp7b
This team is just different. Love the battle and effort to comeback and win. That Miller pass in OT to Hughes was nasty.
Good look from Miller but really poor coverage from the Islanders, Barzal just leaves his man and shifts coverage as if he's playing 5v5 with 2 defensemen behind him.
nah watch horvat on the play lmfao he just watches hughes skate past him@@Implicit_Truth
insanely poor coverage but loved it@@Implicit_Truth
As a Rangers fan, I've always liked JT Miller. Great player that always plays hard. These type of games the Canucks used to almost always fall short. It's good to see them doing well again. I also had Quinn Hughes as a Norris Trophy candidate before the season start. I was mocked for having Quinn over a bunch of other defensemen. Not a peep from those haters anymore, they vanished into thin air lol
1st in the Western Conference AND 2nd in the League Standings. I don't think anyone, and I mean ANYONE, saw this coming. It's all just clicked into gear for this team, who now play every game, save for the odd one, where they put in a huge workmanlike performance and fight every step of the way for the puck.
Last season, Isles came here and beat us off the ice 5-1. How the times have drastically changed since then. What a massive win!! KEEP GOING CANUCKS!!
STANLEY CUP IS OURS
nuckhead saw it coming

So happy for Captain Quinn to get the OT winner after his giveaway led to the Horvat goal. It's fun to be a Canuck fan again!
Hughes is writing quite a story so far this season as are the Canucks!! 😮
Just gave you the 43rd Like to your comment. Fitting since #43 scored on the 43rd shot to win the game 4-3.
4:23 That good old Miller defence. Hard work and urgency.
@@MrManfly 20 assists to lead the league - and he's a defense man.
Oh & the officiating was either blind or its a rigged league as the first goal came when Horevat lost & edge & fell on his own no penalty but a penalty was called & not even reviewed or challenged by the war room...why...?
The Canucks didn't play their strongest game - Islanders had been anemic on offence this year but looked potent at times tonight... but like what good teams can do, the Canucks strapped on their work boots, dug deep, and found a way to gut out a win. These wins are so important for a team trying to contend - great effort from the boys!
I’m mad that they cut off Ian Cole’s goal line clear right before he did it. And also, what did John say?
He said the Canucks are first in the western conference and that Hughes, Miller, and Pettersson are now tied for first place in the league scoring race with 26 points each.
Kuzy for life🙏
All I got to say is wow! What a comeback!
Quinn Hughes is a MONSTER on skates!!! 😎
It's crazy. Former captain Bo scores; current captain Hughes scores (OT); Horvat was on the ice for the Hughes GWG; & ironically, Hughes scored on Vancouver's 43rd shot of the game.
On top of that Petey, Hughes, and Miller lead the league with 26 points EACH and are 1st in the Western Conference.
The boys are locked in my goodness!
Hronek which was practically the return of trading horvat also tied the game 😂
And the 4-3 final😮
The Islanders were licking their chops with that 2-0 lead but then they unraveled, taking stupid and undisciplined penalties one after the other... The pass from Miller to Hughes, that sent him in on a breakaway to score the winning goal in overtime, was a thing of beauty...Speedy recovery to Kuzmenko, I hope it's not a serious injury...
How hard was the shot to Kuzmenko? Sh...t poor guy. Send him flowers and chocolates.
@@sports2hedz542And a banana 🍌 Apparently he's fine.
Looked like a painful shot. He may miss the Calgary game but should be back the game after.
The Islanders let Hughes sneak in behind them where he could take a three line pass and score all alone. The Canucks played smart and disciplined - the Isles did not.
i went to this game and honestly the game was so sloppy in the first and it did get better. The ending sealed the deal. these guys are real. Amazing night go canucks go
First home game after a road trip is usually a sloppy start.
Miller has balls of Steele to stand in front of that 100mph bomb
Miller is a beast
I'm a huge EP40 fan but god damn Miller is so good at everything this year!
No matter the deficit Nucks kept pushing and what a finish it was!
Islanders and Canucks don't play often but it always seems to be a fun game.

As a HUGE Petey fan, I have to say Quinn really is the MVP of the Canucks right now. I still think Petey's ceiling is higher, but Quinn has been so insanely good so far this season.
Wild that Petey/Miller/Hughes are tied for first place in the scoring leaderboard.
The skill level and the hockey IQ of the core players is just ridiculous. Everyone is speaking of PDO stats and how they think this team will drop significantly. I'm starting to think that while there will likely be a drop in %, you can't rule out that the skills and chemistry this team has is something they can potrntially sustain throughout the year. There's always a dark horse!
I have been a diehard Canucks fan since 1979 when I was 9 years old. When I was 12 they made the Stanley Cup final (1982) and lost. Being a kid, I naturally assumed they would win it the following year. Now I am not 53 and still waiting. I am beyond excited about this 2023/24 team!
That cross pass for the OT winner was one heck of a set up. Damn that was clean
Vancouver is looking soooo good 😊

Best team in Canada
Best team in the Western Conference
2nd best team in the NHL
Demko serious case for the Vezina
Hughes serious case for the Norris
Demko and DeSmith serious case for the base goalie combo
Love it that Boser is have a great bouce back season so far 16 games 15 games

😁The Canucks are so crafty, what a pass and finish👏.I miss living in Vancouver, im from Toronto.I live there when my lady was working for Air Canada.Go Vancouver💯🔥
Such a smart move splitting up the D like that, then the sweet stretch pass and bang in the net! Great win Canucks!
This game had me on edge, great game!
Hughes goal sure reminds me of Bure’s 2OT goal vs Calgary back in 1994 playoffs. We all know and remember that goal, awesome pass down the stretch from Jeff Brown. And this one, awesome pass by Miller to Hughes. Not a deke, but a lovely snapper of a shot! Canucks are so lit this year! 🔥 It’s been a long time coming as a Canucks fan 😃
Always liked their core, good to see them put it together this year

He was there tonight Mr Bettman, truly amazing night.
That dude ranked the Canuck organization for this season at 31 ffs! That is not a fan, bandwagon at best.
@chesterjackson666 cause they were literally that bad. You have no clue what your talking about and that's okay.
THG has a half dozen "favourite" teams.

What an emotional homecoming for former "Captain My Captain" Bo Horvat with a happy ending provided by new captain Huggy Bear!
Your captain who left us?
It’s rare to see Quinn smile after scoring 🐻 Way to go captain!!
Quinn Hughes best player in the NHL right now
That save when the goalie behind the net was so close
Watched that overtime win over and over again! What a win!!
Miller was a Beast tonight for the Canucks! He had an important role in all four Canucks goals: a one-timer PPG- a saucer pass to Boeser PPG - a screen on Hronek's goal - a beautiful pass to Hughes on OT goal. In all fairness, we as Canucks are down on Miller when he is off his game; however, he also deserves to be duly respected and praised when he has a night like this for the Canucks.
Yes I agree, Miller is really impressing me, seems like that coaching change was good for him
Other than taking too many penalties, the Isles played a strong game, this could have gone either way. They played a tough Canucks team and got a point, I think they're on the verge of turning things around and winning a few.
Love you Bo... and always will. Thank you for everything!! You're the guy we got for Schneider, came in under big expectations and didn't disappoint. But the new captain got the last laugh tonight 😊 let's go boyz 😁
that game really embodied horvat’s time in vancouver
- took a lot of draws
- scored a goal
- not great on the PK
- blew a 2 goal lead (twice)
- lost his man which lead to game winner
This Canucks team is so fun to watch. The depth of guys stepping up and the talent on the team rivals that of the 93-94 team that made it to the finals. Not taking away anything from the Sedin years, but they really carried the whole team on their shoulders. This team now is a lot deeper.
Mikheyev is good
Awesome to see Hronek get his first! Always liked him in Detroit , but now DET has got his replacement in ASP. Vancouver fans really always show support despite however there season goes, happy for there success and hope if continues. That arena is LOUD! gotta love it!

Well we are still missing Soucy, a key defenseman. Kuzmenko may be out for a few games as well due to his puck in the face injury tonight.. not looking great injury wise

Howitzer that almost took miller shins apart--- yikes---
that OT strat the Canucks had was FILTHYYY
Betting on Bo and Quinn was a good night, $70 wager, $281 win! Thanks boys
WOW! Gutsy comeback win, with a great OT goal.
WOW! 🎉 Quite a game. Isles played well the first half. Eventually, all those PPs take their toll and wear you down. Canucks are a high powered engine. Both teams learned how important it is to stay out of the box.
Japanese Canucks fans are so happy those days 😀😀😀😀😀
Before this season started the Canucks needed a good kick in the butt and they are getting it from Tocchet. Isles look in trouble. They get multi-goal leads on teams and keep blowing it because they try to sit on leads instead of attacking and trying to score more goals! Suffocating/Trap/Sit Back Defensive hockey doesn't work anymore like the Devils perfected in the 90's and the Wings with their Left Wing Lock.
It's so crazy how well Hughes plays! He reminds me of the glory days of Scott Niedermayer
As a BC native, he mentioned about chances of joining us, and how we lamented not having him
Lock him up long term. We got the best shot at the Lord Stanley with Quinn being our captain!

That is why Hughes is captain now! Go Canucks! Go!
Anyone think that was a set play? They way JT curled and passed like he knew Hughes was already there...
@@sports2hedz542 Similar set up to the play that nearly sprung Boeser earlier in OT as well.
And with that GWG, the Canucks are 1st in the West!
Canucks have suddenly turned the corner and are a fun and entertaining team to watch play.
That Kuzmenko injury sucked & it looked extremely painful I hope he's ok & he recovers quick. Great win! A very dramatic game! This team has surprised me. I still have a bit of anxiety as a Canucks fan anything can still happen. 🤣
This team seems like something special
Those 3-1 leads aren't what they used to be, I'll tell you that for free.
Way more fun being a Canuck fan than an Islander fan........tell you that for free
As a Leafs supporter, I'd love to see any Canadian team make a deep run to the Cup! I'd hope it would be the Leafs of course, but Canucks are showing great signs of a team that can win it all. Good comebacks, luck when needed, strong defense, good goaltending. I want to see them against other top contenders to see how they'd fare, but so far they're doing amazing!

really squeezed in those third period highlights
no clip of the cole save on the goal line?
I went at this one and was pretty electric. And it played out very similarly to their meeting in NY last season. Canucks fall behind initially, Horvat scoring one of them, Canucks come back to win the game.
9:20 Horvat was with Hughes in OT, and let Hughes take off on a breakaway pass from Miller for the goal. Badly blown coverage by Horvat.
Them Hughes brothers are dominating the league. 🤘💚🔱🏒🖖💯
I wonder how Horvat feels that the Canucks immediately became a wagon after his departure
In case you wanna know what Shorty said at the end, he said "I saw Napoleon last night, and I think it's just average. "
The first bit the Canucks couldnt put anything into the net and it's interesting to see that once that happens we just start firing shots (I think we had the most shots in this game than any other) but once we found that wasnt working we started setting up plays and absolutely pocketing things again
114k views? That's unheard of for Canucks highlights, in the past few years i think.
The highlights against the oilers had similar view counts
I haven't been interested in the Canucks since Bure, (the first time)... they are doing great so far
You know your team is good when your goalie is a bit off and still win the game.
Still played good
That has to feel good for Demko to win after having a few problems too, considering he's been their last hope for several seasons.
Tocchet for coach of the year.
The Canucks did not play well in the 3rd after the Hronek tying goal. They were losing puck battles, puking the puck up all over the place, and getting badly outworked by the Islanders. Demko almost gave the game away with a bad bank off the boards. He had to scramble back and make a great save to make amends. If they played that way against an actual good team, they would have easily lost. They were lucky to make it to overtime. That being said, the OT goal by Hughes was really nice. They had better stop believing the headlines, and start working hard and smart again, or else this could go south for them.
