I won’t cut a yard to make a buck. I just set myself up during the summer with small projects to keep money coming in and the when the grass turns back on, I jump back to mowing weekly instead of bi-weekly to tri-weekly!
I agree with Shawn, skipping a week or two depending on the rain or lack there of is better than a burnt lawn!!! Be safe, hydrated, wear sunscreen, also seat belts too! Praying for all🙏🙏🙏
I can tell that G is already missed. Lol. He’s an awesome worker for sure. Glad your squatters are gone. Just glad there was no fire with them smoking in there. I’ve fought storage unit fire and they are extremely dangerous due to the fact you never know what’s in them hidden that you can not see. Those yards look pretty stressed to me. Thanks for another great video guys. Have a great evening. Be safe careful stay cool and keep up the great work. Bruce in Wv!!!
My mom had a saying about people like your tenant - "Some people are clods." That is as close as she ever got to swearing, so when she said that, we knew she was pissed.
Since 2020 I have changed my approach I tell my clients to contact me if they don’t want service. Everyone wants lower prices but my cost have gone crazy in the last four years
On the question about if you should skip a lawn if it's not growing as fast and to skip it, you take Good care of your customers, HONESTY is the Best Policy. You all do great work, May GOD BLESS you even More.
I always take the health of the lawn first before anything. If coming into summer dry season the customers want shrubs trimmed I save those for the dry day. It kind of solves the cash flow problem.
Always take care of the customer. The moment you lie once or deceive once, it will become the benchmark of your integrity. I have had customers tip me or pay me during drought season bc I refuse to mow. Be an honest owner and business, and you will never worry about customers.
I do skip weeks when it’s too dry. It gives me a little break on hotter days and often times I get other work from the same clients like patio maintenance or driveway sealing.
It’s a shame housing has become so expensive that people will literally PAY to live in a small storage locker. I know this isn’t their concern and they should be kicked out, but what are we doing in America when we let all these corporations buy up residential housing and price people out of a place to sleep.
I maintain the frontage for our neighborhood and try to keep it looking good. There is nearly always a five gallon bucket full of trash that needs to be picked up. As long as I'm out picking up trash I mow also, just to keep it looking good. Were into three weeks of no rain after 26 inches in the previous 40 days prior that.
Wow, what trash (both the squatters and what they left!). You guys be safe out there. I think you handled it well, even offered to give them their money back if they cleaned it up. I feel for people, I really do, but it’s heavily based on the way you act and present yourself.
You guys are slowly heading towards autumn days as we are heading towards spring time in Australia. Would like to meet you both some day. Been watching for many years as im also in the same industry for over 35 years and loving it
Got a little while before autumn days. Just had are first day of summer last week. I’m ready for the autumn days though. Do you actually get any cold days over there?
I’ve been if it’s dry I’ll skip to attempt to save/mask it presentable longer. For tenants on your storage units if your can legally write into the contract if caught attempting live in the unit they will be charged triple the rate of your largest storage unit. Things like this stink but things could be worse, you could be watching your home fall into the river. We’re dealing with flooding and road closures in our area.
In regard to skipping a week, I think that you need to educate your customers. Maybe that's something you should put into an e-mail newsletter to all of them.
I will always do what is best for the customer. However, I would explain issues that arise and in the end let the customer decide. Shawn, maybe increase the size just a few bucks on that storage unit. You can always lower it if the customer does what they are suppose too.
With tenants as a landlord I always required three past rental history landlord contact information. It takes going back to the third to get honest answers about tenants.
I would definitely do what is best for the customer but I would also let mother nature take it's course also what is best for the lawn as well as the customer
I think there’s a balance. I’m ok skipping if less than 50% hasn’t grown enough for a cut. If that’s the case I usually skip without even asking. But if it’s over 50%, the next service is going to take longer.
A bad google review? She has got to be kidding. I saw a yelp review where a guy gave a Habit Burger 1 star because on the soft opening where everything was free, they didn't have any vegan options. Sheesh.
Love yalls Videos, keep doing what your doing!!
My lawn care guy skipped my yard several times last year because it was dry. I appreciate his honesty.

Shawn how long you had the Ram dump truck? It feels like one yr, but I bet it's been two or three I can't keep up with time lol.
Hey didn't you want thr storage unit black topped? Why not reach out to "G's" new employer company to see if they can get that done for you.
Check the oil level when the engine is cold...this will give you the true level of what is in the sump.
Don't check oil while it's running lol the oil is been pumped round the engine your only get true reading when engine is off on level ground and cool
It was transmission fluid.

I’d rather not burn the lawn by mowing when it’s not needed due to lack of rain and going dormant, having grass burn due to over mowing is never good
I wonder if that company that Gene is working for will be interested in blacktop and the storage units

Why not use the smaller storage unit for yourself, seems more beneficial if you utilize it than having to keep up with the riff raff

Absolutely agree
Raise the price on the small unit
We are the same price as our competition on this size unit. It's just not a sought-after size!
Sean use that unit for some storage for yourself and save yourself the headache
People will be people don't take it upon face value.
Right
I'd do what's best for the customer. It's called lawn care. You should care about the quality of the lawn.
I don’t understand why you’re dumping all that on your property?
Sorry the music today is dreadful … you do love percussion instruments
Good Evening Team Spencer
Hello how are you
You had the same problem last year ,didnt you? Some people...I can just shake my head. 😡

just extra landscape jobs and shrubs/ extra work for customers and commercial properties when it is that dry not mowing and frying the lawns

We mow unless they customer calls and says they don’t won’t it mowed. If I’m going to spend money driving to the property I’m mowing.
Do whats best for the customer.... Its got my name on it so I want it looking good....
KNOCK THE WALL DOWN BETWEEN THE 2 UNITS. CHARGE EXTRA FOR A BIGGER UNIT. MAYBE SIR
Another one! Thank God for security cameras!
Do you plan on wrapping the dump truck like you did on the old super duty?
No! It will be logo soon though
Set up a security system
I see Slimy is out of the dog house. Lol
Well, he was for a second
Haha
I do skip some stuff but it really depends on what the upcoming weather forecast is and this has been an odd year with skipping stuff in June.
Mark from Ontario Canada. Iam out for the customer if I do not cut for 2 to 3 weeks that is the way it is . I put them first .
you need to put a V in the middle that way it drains away from the doors
whats your opinion on Darwin’s trimmer grips?

My lawn guy has no problem skipping a week but he still charges even if it doesn’t get mowed. I understand the skip but not so happy I have to pay.
Lol squatters are the worst.. if you were in California you wouldn't be able to do anything about it.. imagine that world
Do your recommend charging people based on time or size of lawn.

Great job enjoy the videos
If we had to hire it done you would have to come to my house every third or fourth day to stay within the 1/3 rule
Skip it if it's to dry
Do what needs to be done if no rain then don't kill the grass
I seen u guys the other day lol
