You're such a poet. We of course want to see everything about everything. What kind of barb is that in with the kribs? Have you ever kept and/or done a species spotlight on Neoheterandria elegans?
I would like to see the greenhouse build as well as what you do to set the inside up. I learn so much from watching your UA-cam channel keep up the great work, and thanks for all you do!
I love the 150g Modified Hillstream tank, it's simply amazing! There are so many different fish species in there, I am sure it's amazing to look at it! One day, If I have such a big tank, I will model it as this one! Great work Rachel!
i just randomly came across you looking for vids on micro crabs, and honestly i love how you speak and you seem so knowledgeable and caring , only thing im sad with is you dont ship to canada but i just want to say, your amazing and thank you for making videos and everything!
could never be bored when it comes to aquarium hobby!....love watching your videos, the hillstream tank is beautiful, and I'd love to see the green house build from the ground up!.....if you wouldn't mind!..... take care
I like the fact that you keep your plantedtanks long term. As far as I can your the 2nd person in youtube that I've subscribed to that keep tanks long term. Others build then break or even destroy their tanks in a few months. They look good but they were not built to look good long term. But this method of planted tanks is interesting because as the tank matures, they will look better. At least for me they will, since I have a single tank that is 2 years old now.
I really appreciate that. For me, personally, its all about the long haul. I want my fish to age, mature, breed, and see all the manifestations of that- same thing for the plants. I have never been into the "short term" look. I learn SO MUCH from keeping my aquariums going for a long time. My fish room is about 8 years old (in its current manifestation), and I am just now starting to really reboot tanks- mainly because a lot of the fish are aging out and the substrates I used back then are degrading and just out of date in comparison to what is available now.
I really like the Tetra algae scraper as it's got a long handle and the blade is held in by a piece of white plastic, so you can see where you've been with the scraper. This video helped me figure out I didn't have green spot algae because after having my nerites for two weeks, the glass like new! 😁
I'd be interested on seeing what you do with the greenhouse and how you build it. I would also like to see what you stock the greenhouse with as a mini series like you do with the tubs, just as a small bonus when you get the chance. I could imagine it must be getting hectic right now.
Wow, such happy, thriving tanks! It's clear that you love what you do and love your aquatic inhabitants. This is my first time viewing but def won't be the last!
Hi Rachel. Love this tank as it's so natural. Everything I like about aquariums. I'm in the process of doing a 55 gallon hill stream tank. I have made the water more temperate and moved alot of fish to other tanks. I have 27 White Clouds in there atm. Such overlooked fish. Entertaining and beautiful. What temperature do you have your tank? Im trying to decide about what fish I can keep in there with them. Thanks
Rachael, you NEVER bore! Do you think a small group of Khulis would be ok in a heavily planted dwarf puffer tank? I’m just setting up and would like a clean up crew, and the khulis are soooo beautiful.
Great Video, I think you work that fluval scraper as a mag-float and just flip it to engage the scraper and flip it back to disengage. one magnet inside and one outside.. I could be wrong mind you..
I had a pair of thorichtys meeki spawn then the parents died. I've now raised the fry to about 9 months now and they are the same size as when the parents bred. Would it be an issue if I bred the fry that are family? Does inbreeding really kill fish?
I was wondering I wanted to make a hill stream tank just like yours. It would have java fern narrow, anubias, buce and cryptocoryne. For the crypts though, could I use tropica plant substrate. The dirty stuff you put under gravel or sand. Also for stocking would 12-15 mountain minnows, 5-6 Borneo sucker, and around 3 red gobies be ok in a 15 long( 20 long with the back used for an all in one.)
That Anubis was made for that spot goes right in like it was always there. I would love to purchase a trio of your gastromyzon viriosis and give them a try my sp Breed like roaches
could you do a species spotlight on Pseudomugil luminatus? and perhaps you might enjoy my favorite shrimp species, Caridina cf babaulti var Malaya... they are gorgeous, but completly underrated, at least here in Germany. I really enjoy your vids, and the information i can get from them. I also have a suggestion: could you include the preferred turnover rates in the species spotlight? I think a lot of fish in the hobby would be a lot happier if this information were easier to find, or mentioned at all
I tried to put it back on TEN times. Then I gave up adn said the plants will do what the plants will do- and since that tank is supposed to really reflect a natural representation of what happens in a hillstream environment, who am I to argue? lol
right? at first I thought they got eaten, as they moved to the opposite side of the cave. I was bummed, then staring all over the tank with a flashlight, then realized the male still hadn't moved- Eureka!
I am saying your more entertaining then whats on television these days... I just love your channel and I can't thank you ehough for getting me back into the freshwater world after being in the marine world ....

Its a "crystal" odessa barb. and no i haven't
YAH! I'm just outside of Toronto and would love the opportunity to hear you speak and say "hello"

i just randomly came across you looking for vids on micro crabs, and honestly i love how you speak and you seem so knowledgeable and caring , only thing im sad with is you dont ship to canada but i just want to say, your amazing and thank you for making videos and everything!

I love your feeding vids so we can see everybody! Thank you!
Oh, please show us the greenhouse build. Then continue and show us what you do with it. I feel that the information that you share will be inspiring.

Such a beautiful and diverse aquarium. I'm so in love with it.
Tank is looking amazing!
I'd be interested to see anything you uploaded, you are not boring in the slightest : )
I would love to see how you set up the inside of the greenhouse 😃
Personally speaking , I would enjoy a video on the construction of the greenhouse. Thanks for asking.
I'd be interested on seeing what you do with the greenhouse and how you build it. I would also like to see what you stock the greenhouse with as a mini series like you do with the tubs, just as a small bonus when you get the chance. I could imagine it must be getting hectic right now.
+Jesse Perez it's never not hectic!

Thanks!

White clouds are cold water fish. :)
I would like to see any videos on the greenhouse work. All of it is interesting :)
Yes, green spot algae the bain of my existence. I usually use a credit card to get it off though :)
Rachael, you NEVER bore! Do you think a small group of Khulis would be ok in a heavily planted dwarf puffer tank? I’m just setting up and would like a clean up crew, and the khulis are soooo beautiful.
yes
How you set up the inside of the greenhouse would be very interesting!
I can't wait to see it set up!
Love that hillstream tank! The amano thinks he's a crayfish lol! We need updates on your kittens and chickens! :)
Love your videos! What are you feeding the hillstream loaches?
awesome work and thank you for video
That crayfish tattoo is kick arse!
VIDEO EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONTENT IS CONTENT !!!
Great Video, I think you work that fluval scraper as a mag-float and just flip it to engage the scraper and flip it back to disengage. one magnet inside and one outside.. I could be wrong mind you..
yea, figured that out later. I am getting old and senile.
Ok, I'm old and senile as well. So I doubted my comment.. As always wonderful video.
I had a pair of thorichtys meeki spawn then the parents died. I've now raised the fry to about 9 months now and they are the same size as when the parents bred. Would it be an issue if I bred the fry that are family? Does inbreeding really kill fish?

I thin that many minnows with the other fish is too dense of a stocking for that volume. You may run into issues with stability
Rachel O'leary how many of each would you recommend?
I would do 10 mountain minnows and then th eother fish
Rachel O'leary I'll do that then. I just don't know if I'll be able to get the Borneo suckers.
Do you do anything to clean your hands and arms before you start moving things?
hot water
Awesome tattoo idea!
Just discovered your channel, and I love it !!!!!!
Have to sub.
+rastapandaz welcome!
+rastapandaz welcome!
Selling any shell dwellers right now?
I def wanna see the inside build to the greenhouse
Can you do a video on how to make a DIY syphon hose? Also how you clean out the hoses
you must have ESP- stay tuned for today's tuesday tip :)
LOl looking forward to it
What species is in with the oscar? I'm assuming it's some kind of catfish
four lined pimelodella catfish
Cool update :)
That Anubis was made for that spot goes right in like it was always there. I would love to purchase a trio of your gastromyzon viriosis and give them a try my sp Breed like roaches
Right? I saw it in a tank and had an "aha" moment!

i agree that malaya are WAY underrated- great shrimp!
What happened to the island at the 150 hillstream?
it decided, as happens in nature, that it didn't like the placement and moved. I tried repeatedly to put it back and it said no
Rachel O'leary p
@@RachelOLeary it was my favourite too!
What Happened to the island of plants.?
+Hunter Small it decided it didn't want to be an island anymore
Well dang! I loved that part! Your hill stream tank is literally my inspiration in life 😂 hopefully one day!
I tried to put it back on TEN times. Then I gave up adn said the plants will do what the plants will do- and since that tank is supposed to really reflect a natural representation of what happens in a hillstream environment, who am I to argue? lol
I want to see more greenhouse please
I put some banana peel in my aquarium and it eliminated my green spot algae because it is caused by a lack of potassium
One square inch
One week
I wondered what that said!
What kind of video? Embrace the power of and. Show all the things. Your videos are always well thought out and never boring.
How do you remember all these fishes biological names. Oh they are tough.
Inside greenhouse set up.
Those 306 are actually described so you don't need to use the L number just in case you didn't know they are Panaqolus claustellifer
yea i am aware. Sometimes we get attached to the old L numbers, lol
Captain!!! ;) Xo
I hate green spot algae. I find the easiest way to deal with it is to hit it with hydrogen peroxide every couple of days until it's gone.
🅱eautiful tank!
Green spot is not the bane... Black beard algae is alot more of a pain...
that was poetry
👌👽👌
SQUEEEEE! Baby "Plecos"!
right? at first I thought they got eaten, as they moved to the opposite side of the cave. I was bummed, then staring all over the tank with a flashlight, then realized the male still hadn't moved- Eureka!
No need to rush the stocking.
i just want very particular fish! And you are right- the tank will continue to grow and mature :)
My experience nerites nuke green spot
Work
she doesn't want to bore us? are you kidding....
are you saying I am REALLY boring or not at all boring? hahahahah
