Knife Making: Hand Forged Japanese Knife / EXTREMELY sharp

My brother and I decided to forge a pair of japanese fillet knives out of 1095 steel. Both single beveled; one for left handed and other for right handed.
In this video you'll see how we fully forged and ground the two knives. As we were on a rush, we decided to focus on his knife to finish it before he left. Sadly we couldn't do it so I decided to finish it for his next visit ;).

I only would have done one thing different. I would have left more of the hammer marks visable after grinding. Adds to the handmade aesthetic. Not a criticism. Great knife.

I get freaked out cause in the video I hear a low explosion after each heat when forging. I know its just the forge, but still.

Well, some times it went low of air intake and it make that kind of sound. As far as I can tell from the year I've been using it, I did not have any issue with this forge. Plenty secure.
