They should still play theses classics … so kids can learn Canadian history. So sad how the times have changed

    As a blue noser.
I 👃 am so proud of the hard work of the ship builders who receive little recognition for their beautiful work and experience of having a great 👍 👌 deal of success 🙌 ❤

      Fellow blue noser here...
Canada has the only piece of currency that features two Queens that I know of.
The late Elizabeth II is on one side of our Canadian dime, and The Bluenose, the sailing Queen of the Might North Atlantic sea, is on the other.

I am so proud to be Nova Scotian. Truly an amazing place to be from with beautiful people and culture. I will retire there for sure

Wow and how I just learned all about this iconic legend! Nova Scotia is the province where it began for the icon now seen on the Canadian 10 cent dime.

There are a great many wrecks in the shallows of the area in which the Bluenose was lost. The precise location of the wreck is not known. Wreckage is widely scattered by tide and storm and essentially unidentifiable.

I would like to see the modern America cup boats loaded with fish out in a north Atlantic storm. Wood is better then carbon fibre and bluenose was crewed by Canadians tougher then old leather.

As best I know, Canada is the only country in the British Commonwealth with a piece of currency that depicts a Queen on both sides.
Elizabeth II is on on side of Canada's dime, and The Bluenose; the undefeated Queen of the mighty North Atlantic, is on the other side.

Not even national pride could save her from the almighty dollar. In the end, that's what was the reason for selling her.

      I know...sad, isn't it?
I met Captain Walters' daughter years ago, and she said that her father was heartbroken when he heard of her demise. It's not that he didn't try to save his beloved Lady Of The Mighty Atlantic...

Marty.R Woodcock not at all if you owned a cargo vessel it could had been taken by the Germans and with war looming business was on a down turn , government taking what materials they needed and not paying the people to the point that the military would sieze your boat to collect what they wanted , trick is get some money and run

This was a wooden ship in the 1940s and this is 2019. Have you ever heard of a ship broken up on shore or on shoals battered by waves and tides to still be intact after 70 odd years? If she had sunk in the cold deep waters of the Canadian Arctic, they might find something, but that sure as heck isn't the case.
