On March 8th is Woman’s Day, I was thinking to stream Milk of the Siren, it’s one of her underrated songs, it’s basically about woman’s rights, so I think it would be the right song for it. Also, on March 17th is Saint Patricks Day. I was thinking we could stream Faerie Soirée, it gives me many similar vibes to Saint Patrick’s Day. Isn’t it so weird watching yourself grow up alongside a musician? Realizing you’re both human and you’re capable of achieving the same success. It’s such a strange, strange and almost bittersweet feeling. I’ve been listening to Melanie for years and watched her live on the voice, I remember thinking “she’s so pretty and is okay with being different when i was a little girl.” Now here I am. College. I’ve grown with Melanie’s music and although I’ve outgrown her music sometimes I sit in my room and put on the crybaby album, and remember the little girl I once was. Sorry for anyone who’s read through this ramble, I’m at a very strange and emotional time in my life and it’s so strange to grow with her music.
