They are sold at the same price until they’re removed from stores. There are obviously those games that have less in them so they cost less but a standard game easily can cost $100. I did just recently buy Pokémon violet for $100. If I would only pay less than $50 for games then I would have to wait like 8 years before I could play a game and then buy it secondhand. I just bought breath of the wild for $60 secondhand and that game came out 6 years ago. It is still being sold in stores for $100. $100 for a game that came out 6 years ago.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles on switch was a pretty great deal. You got 2 full length phoenix wright games for $39.99. Both of which had never been official localized in the west prior.
An incredible deal was the assassins creed rebel collection on switch, it’s basically always on sale for $15 and includes Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Assassins Creed: Freedom Cry, and Assassins Creed: Rouge. That’s three BIG open world games for 15 bucks, I got 40 hours in it so far and I’m not even close to being done with black flag ALONE. And if you have to ask, every single one of them runs absolutely flawlessly on switch, docked or portable.
Fun fact, one time I bought a "new" 3ds xl at a thrift store for $5 and the analog stick ribbon was torn. Called Nintendo customer support asking them if I could buy the part and they just asked for the serial number and asked where I bought it. I told them a secondhand store and they offered to replace it. Only issue is that they didn't have that model in stock anymore and sent me a new 2ds xl instead.
I bought a brand new New 3DS XL (Pokemon Sun/Moon edition) from Gamestop when it came out. Went home, bought a few games on the eshop, and found out the L button just straight didn't work. Went back to Gamestop and realized that I'd lose all those games since Nintendo never had an actual account system and everything was tied to the console. Gamestop wouldn't let me return the device and transfer everything to the new console, so I took the broken one home and called Nintendo support. They were surprisingly super helpful and just told me to get the serials for both consoles and they'd do an account transfer. Of course, none of that would have been an issue to begin with if Nintendo wasn't constantly a decade behind everyone else tech-wise.
Hollow Knight for $15 was and still is honestly a great deal. The amount of content in that game is easily comparable to most AAA games released around the same time such as Mario Odyssey, but not only is the post-final boss stuff way more entertaining and replayable in Hollow Knight IMO, they also released four DLCs that were all free at launch that gave an extra 20+ hours of content or something like that. I would have paid $60 for the game but $15 was an amazing deal. I really hope Silksong isn't $60 though because I'm broke lol
It’s not a great deal. It’s a goddamn STEAL. That much content for $15? I felt like I straight up robbed them. I had to buy it four more times to cleanse my conscience.
Scott....the fact that i go out of my way each and every time you post a new video...and make shure i liked the video....truly shows your contet is GREATLY APPRECIATED! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HOMIE 💯
For my entire childhood, I was repeatedly surprised that the latest Zelda (at the time) is the same price as the shovelware. I *almost* understand it now, but it still *feels* wrong.
I wish this was one of Scott's longer videos. Learning about the prices like this is interesting in Scott format. Definitely agree on everything about the deals mentioned. I look for the same thing as well. Always disappointed in Nintendo and their re-releases. Plus the prices on old games never go down, they always seem to go up. I remember waiting on Mario Kart 8's price to go down. Never did, never got it. Now I feel like I missed the whole experience anyway since I can't afford online.
Does it really? I don't have depression but can one funny and entertaining guy really help with something as serious as depression? It may make you happier for a bit but I wouldn't call that helping.
I died of laughter when you called Nintendo Customer Service. As a kid, I would call them for anything 😂 i vividly remember asking them why did Rare leave Nintendo and if a sequel to Conkers Bad Fur Day was being made.
My anxiety could never. Even as a child I had crippling anxiety. As a kid I used to mess around with the house phones and just put in a bunch of random numbers. One time i guess I put in three nines at some point in my button mash and apparently that was enough to call the police and was terrified when the automated message started asking what service I needed. I used to also call the other house phone and pretend to be someone else but my parents could easily tell it was just me calling from the living room. I never even considered calling someone over than my own parents in the other room. I had my friends’ phone numbers but whenever I wanted to hangout with my friends I would get my mum to call and ask their parents. I was just too scared that someone else in my friends’ family would pick up.
Rare Replay is often on sale for £5. I'd easily say that it's the best deal in gaming. There are 30 games, some of them not that great, but plenty of amazing ones. The enhanced 360 ports of Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie and Perfect Dark. Great emulated versions of Conker's Bad Fur Day, Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini (the latter with better controls that make it playable). The pre-N64 games have some great features like challenges that make even the bad games somewhat enjoyable. And it's all in an amazing presentation. And if that isn't enough, it will be getting an update that will add the new port of GoldenEye to the collection for no extra cost.

I have bought games for full price tho, and they were worth the price I paid. Breath of the Wild for example. I respect wanting to save money, but flat out saying NO game is worth the full price is just stupid. And yes I liked my own comment, because UA-cam gives me the ability to do so, why shouldn't I.

15:00 Okay I have to come clean. I DID try to enter the code for Bayonetta 1 on my Switch. I was looking for the greatest deal of all, and yet all I have found is a great deal of shame.
One of the reasons for games costing $70 now is because of inflation. If we’re starting from when game prices lowered to $50 in 1995 (when the ps1 released) that amount of money had the buying power of almost $100 today, not to mention that budgets and scope for games have only gone up. I definitely agree that some ports and remasters having a huge price tag can be BS but the price increase in general kind of has to happen
1:40 fromsoftware had no involvement with the demon souls remake, while the original was developed by them it's still owned by sony and the remake is developed by bluepoint games
My favourite ‘video game deal’ was when Mario Kart 8 released on the Wii U and you could get another game alongside it for free! I chose Windwaker HD! :D
One of the most "Eh, kinda bad" deals i've taken part in was when they released all 3 dancing games on ps4 for 60 dollars bundled together. Now both games alone where 30, and you'd get p4 dancing for free with the 60 dollar collection. So if you only wanted to play 1 or 2 of the games on the collection then you were shelling out money more money for games you didn't want. So the people who got the most value out of it where people like me who where really into persona 3-5 and also rhythm games.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles on switch was a pretty great deal. You got 2 full length phoenix wright games for $39.99. Both of which had never been official localized in the west prior.
Isn't the entire trilogy remaster $30 as well?
I actually got a deal of buying both The Great ace Attorney plus the original trilogy for $40 which I would say it is a good deal
I have to say, out of all of Scott’s videos, this is one of them!
It doesn't hurt that Rouge and black flag are considered some of the best in the franchise.
@@phabiorules oh ya, black flag is definitely the best imo, and rouge isn’t to far behind
Rare W with Nintendo support lol
I bought a brand new New 3DS XL (Pokemon Sun/Moon edition) from Gamestop when it came out. Went home, bought a few games on the eshop, and found out the L button just straight didn't work. Went back to Gamestop and realized that I'd lose all those games since Nintendo never had an actual account system and everything was tied to the console. Gamestop wouldn't let me return the device and transfer everything to the new console, so I took the broken one home and called Nintendo support. They were surprisingly super helpful and just told me to get the serials for both consoles and they'd do an account transfer.
Of course, none of that would have been an issue to begin with if Nintendo wasn't constantly a decade behind everyone else tech-wise.
pretty sure the sticks never changed under the hood, so you got a great deal lol

I died of laughter when you called Nintendo Customer Service. As a kid, I would call them for anything 😂 i vividly remember asking them why did Rare leave Nintendo and if a sequel to Conkers Bad Fur Day was being made.
You were seriously in denial... I love it.

5:25 didn't pay ur taxes like yoshi
One of the reasons for games costing $70 now is because of inflation. If we’re starting from when game prices lowered to $50 in 1995 (when the ps1 released) that amount of money had the buying power of almost $100 today, not to mention that budgets and scope for games have only gone up. I definitely agree that some ports and remasters having a huge price tag can be BS but the price increase in general kind of has to happen
shhh, don't feed the uninformed, it's not like they will understand inflation while young 🤣🤣
