The wonderful Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac
Found in my music library, I must have downloaded it from here long ago. Anyway, noticed it never seems to come up when I search youtube so thought I would upload, credit to previous uploader
I saw Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac lineup at the Fillmore West way back in Jan of 1969 on the bill with Creedence Clearwater Revival & Albert Collins. $3.50 to get in, & each band played 2 sets: 1-2-3 & then 1-2-3, again. It was a wonderful time to be young.
Wow man, what a line-up!
Peter Green was a tremendous gift. May he and his talent be remembered and cherished. 👁️✡️👁️
I love how Peter Green smiles at 2:09 while the maracas play the rattlesnakes' rattling sound... He's like, "We're nailing this song!" And they were. All-time classic, and Peter Green's passing is another huge loss.
Agreed! Then again...maybe he was smiling because he knew what was coming...3:33..just sublime!!!
Hell yeah! Love Greens little onstage/mid performance grins.. like he can’t believe how fucking good they sound.. he was so humble and self-effacing. Similar grins during the ‘Oh Well live at music mash 69’
Statement: imho THE GREATEST BLUES ROCK BAND EVER!!!!
This right here is Fleetwood Mac, boys & girls!!!
Danny Kirwan's look on Peter Green was one of awe and admiration!
Peter Green showing the word how to build and deliver a solo. Damn. What a talent
THIS IS MUSIC! peter greens kicked serious ass back then.....the world needs more of his kind of music...not the crap that sounds on the radio everyday
Why don't we have both?
Peter Green was the epitome of Blues/Rock.
I can remember many an hour (playing my air-guitar) spent down in my basement room with the needle on my empire audio exchange turntable and Bose studio monitor speakers blasting out Peter Green.
Then Play On…
Those were the days… 🎶 Oh Well 🎸
Peter Green, singer, songwriter and one of the best guitarists .... ever. Seen here in his prime. I read somewhere that Mitch Mitchell commented that Peter Green was' the only guitarist who could give Jimi a run for his money'. And not to mention the rest of this incredible band, including the ~amazing~ Danny Kirwan.
This is when Fleetwood Mac was an awesome band!
As BB king said Peter Green gave me the chills up the spine, he had the greatest tone ever, one of the few to give me the chills, well said BB.
Peter green has the sweetest tone I've ever heard. He was the only one too give me the cold sweats.
unbelievable. they were so great.
I saw Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac many years ago I've been in awe ever since and endeavoured to learn as much of their stuff as I could, still learning ..
Sometimes you have to remind yourself Fleetwood Mac was a blues band who actually kicked ass in the late-60's and this is the perfect statement of how much Greeny and the boys actually did.
Brilliant band!
Saw them three times back in the 60s at Birmingham clubs Le Metro and Mothers and also at the Droitwich Blues Festival when Danny Kirwan had just joined them.
Danny needed Peter and Peter needed Danny..
A humble man. Bless him.
Peter Green's voice! Superb.
Simply one of the best guitar solos ever!!!!
Composing not just a guitarist!!! B invasion Blues the example to teach truth. He was before his time. Music Master!!! Missing Pete !
Peter Green, as he was. A great Blues voice and, a fantastic Guitarist .
MrMetalchamp One of the greatest guitarist with feelings for blues.
The ability here is SICK. I love how they keep the pace nice and slow until the end where the band is on fire jammmmin.
Around 3.49 Peter goes on a solo run that shows his amazing lead guitar ability, so often given over to the then, young Danny. God bless you Peter Green, you were / are a person never given over to ego .
gives me the chills! awesome.
This was Fleetwood
As the camera man focuses on everybody but Peter
Peter Green is my favorite blues british guitar play.
The real Fleetwood Mac!
Don't like the rumours era Fleetwood Mac?They weren't bad by any means.
+Johan Liebert don't dislike them by any means. But this is the original and in my opinion, the best!
Oh
The only Fleetwood Mac. The Mac ever since he left became a bunch of impostors living on his brilliance!
navynugget7- Fleetwood Mac was and is great. But Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac was so raw.
One of the best Peter green solos to almost get caught on camera.
Easily the best bit of Jeremy playing the maracas partially caught on camera.
Thank you for your great contribution to music Peter. May your soul rest in peace x
RIP dear Greeny, and thank you.
the really brilliant thing about the music back then, before it all went south ... was that when a band like this played LIVE it sounded BETTER than the album. RattleSnakeShake is the signature definitive FM song of all time, in my book. Fucking love this live video of them all. thanks for sharing :)
Janice !
One of my fave actress is Janice , so I happened to lookin your comment .
Yes this song is the standard bearer ! No doubt
Where you from dear ?
@@vinetater6368 I'm in the UK at the moment, born in Yorkshire, now live in Norfolk.
Janice Scott
Ok
cool 😎

So how is lock down in your town . Wil I be hearing from you
If you think it sounded better you are fooling yourself. No I am not saying i am all for the tricks they used even in the 70's and since in Studio but there is just something off in just about every live performance be it sound equipment, instrument failure or performers half cut that's completely uncontrollable. Take a look at three of the best albums to hit the market ever, ACDC Back In Black, Fleetwood Mac Rumours and Def Leopards Hysteria based on record sales and radio play. In all three cases they were such a success because of strong studio work by people who refused to settle for good enough. Please don't take this as me saying you can't have your favorite as that's what makes the world go around we all like what we like no matter how different it is. Personally I find few bands that sound anywhere close to what their albums sound like and it's often disappointing. Now with so many rockers performing their real "Iron wheelchair" tours it mixed emotions. They are shadows of their former selves but it's still great to see them out there doing what they love.
Super song super playing super man , 💚💚💚 unforgetable 🌹
I was Peter's guitar tech during the Splinter Group period and this was alway a favourite in the set.
an amazing live gig with Peter & Danny playing off one another, it doesn't get any better than this!!
HOLY SHIT! speechless................Peter Green....There will never be another one
Here Greeny becomes ,a Clapton or, a Hendrix. He gives up his back ground status, to play lead guitar, as only he could. He shunned lead guitar, so that the band did not become ( as it did) Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.You can see , that the song before this (which was solo) and he got, (and righty so), massive applause. He wanted to play it down . Peter Green was never an egomaniac. He was just brilliant.
Glorious performance.
True, look at the name Peter came up with it using mick Fleetwood and John mcvie, as he said it is incase I ever leave the band you can carry on with using the name and the songs, he clearly wasn't a Jon bon Jovi type using his name thinking he was the most important one in the band.
I saw them in '69 at Fillmore West. They really shook the place down. I'll never forget it!
+Dennis Devine You a lucky one, Isaw more than hundred bands the past 40 years, but FM not,
+Dennis Devine I've listened to that concert, I believe my ex-husband found it on internet archive.
I saw them there too. Great show.
Lucky you plus any others who experienced the artistry on show here, this piece shakes me to the core bad camera work or not, legendary early Fleetwood Mac at their brilliant best!
LUCKY MAN!
I had the great good fortune to see FM in the late '60's or early '70's in LA (hard to say... things were a little hazy) when Peter Green and Danny Kirwan were together in and I knew I was seeing something very special. Peter was very friendly and Danny seemed quite distant but the band played on. My group opened for Cream when Clapton was playing strictly Gibsons. Oh man, how fortunate I was!
for those who know genius and love PG this just invades our ears with delight
Peter Green at his best! In that year he was even better than Page e Clapton and maybe than Hendrix too... *SIMPLY AMAZING!*
Peter Green and Roy Buchanan changed my life
@Old Crow add Alvin Lee to that list
Oh 100% 🙌
I love all players of your list,n i m agree with you.
Danny Kirwan was just as good...
Was den Sound und Performance betrifft...geniale psychedelische Improvisationen...musikalische Orgien...!!!R I P PETER Green....Jeremie Spencer...Fleedwood Mc Mark I....
Dr.Ilja Lasaroff.Bulgarien.
pure blues. lu ky to see them live.
Thankyou for playing it here thankyou
RIP to the great Peter Green, we’ll never forget how you played that guitar
Died one day before my 28th birthday
RIP PETER LISTENING TO YOU FOREVER
I'm glad u found it. Green and Danny Kirwin were a great pair.
This kicks ass, and before anything kicked ass. Glad this was caught on film; like to watch him play. He really enjoyed it. Great original stuff too.
Rip Peter Green! 😢😓🎸🎼
Just🌹🌹🌹Peter💚💚💚
This performance from Norway only shows a bit of what Peter could do with this jam number. You owe it to yourself to listen to the 25+ minute versions available from Boston, and some early 70s boots as well. IMHO it beats Dazed and Confused, Spoonful and Walk on Gilded Splinters. SHAME it ended so soon for him.
What about: "Mountain Jam" and "You don't love me" by the Allmans
this is the tempo and rythym they did in the Madge sessions. such a cool groove for PG go solo over at such a frantic pace
I agree at this point nobody could touch Mr. Green, guitar and vocals Wow. And watching 2010 videos, Amazing still. In a different way, he's been to Hell and back. God bless him.
I definitely agree with you, Rattlesnake shake is THE SONG, that showed how Geniues PeterGreen's FM were. Check that Boston Blues verison, that's divine...one of the most powered song ever made.
...PETER GREEN&FLEETWOOD MAC to dla mnie najlepsza SUPER GRUPA THE BEST WSZECH CZASÓW...!!!!!!! Utwór to BRYLANT i KILLER SOLO PETERA GREENA...!!!!!!!👍✌🎸❤
Doesn't really get better than this.
Blues Classic! Those were the days! Rock On
too too too wonderful Peter Green, saw them in LA way back when.
THIS fleetwood mac are just killer! Their studio stuff is great, but these guys can really cut loose live. Anyone reading my comment, PLEASE, go listen to the live in boston vol. 1-3 albums. Their jam band-like improvised playing are insane on those recordings!
Just doesn't get any better than this.
Kicked major ass 40 years ago and still does so today !!
Peter Green... Genius
Great music, the good old day of real rock. Thanks for sharing
Never heard this song - it is mezmerizzzing, hypnotizing! Beyond Oh Well part 1.
RIP Peter Green 7-25-2020
"I know this guy, his name is Mick. He don't care, if he don't got no chick. He do the rattlesnake shake." --- what more can I say than what the lyrics give you right there!?!?!?!?
Peter Green! Phantastisch! 🎸🎸🎸👍🎵💖🎸
Well this just flat out kicks some major ass!! Ty, tyvm 😁😍😘😄💜🤘✌👍
Green had it all.
Looks. Talent. Charisma.
Give it up for Danny Kirwan! He's amazing too!
ABSOLUTELY, YEAH!
A legend. RIP Danny.
Much to young he left this world
What about Jeremy Spencer?
"Then Play On" is a phenomenal album!
When Fleetwood Mac evolved, it emerged in another universe. Of course that's the place it found mainstream success.
Haha, i like how danny watchs peter
Me too..i caught it also
Thanks Mick. Rattle Shake seriously rocks! The changing dynamics help to build up the excitement. This is one track I can use to accompany turbo-training although I believe I've got a longer (and better) version.
This was undoubtedly their best period - with Peter Green. I can't stand the stuff with female vocalists where I feel they went more commercial.
Peter Green forever!
Guess you had to be there and in the right altered state. This is raw and real with the best rhythm section ever.
Imagine you're Jeremy Spencer: you're a pretty good guitarist, but with Peter and Danny in the band, you're playing percussion!
only until it's your turn to do your songs !
Great Peter Green song that came out of a jam!!!
I love Danny's style. So cool. Peter Green IS god.
This is my favorite Peter Green vid. It actually shows him jamming fast. Rare.
I would love to see a dvd of this whole show!!
Probably the only time that you will see Greeny play lead guitar inhibited. On this clip he shows why he is rated as one of the greats.
God, you are right... I never heard him play like that. The man was a monster... It's like: "Danny Boy, take a break and see how it's done."
i saw bob welch do his best impression of peter green back in 73 it was really good , but peter green has a special kind of blues that comes from the soul, he was such a great writer and soul man
absolutely fantastic!
Until recently, the supposedly only surviving track from a concert at the Njårdhallen in Oslo, Norway,November 3rd 1969. The Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK) taped the whole show and showed it in 2 parts on Norwegian TV one year later, in August 1970 in a youth program called "Flimra" and most of the show was allegdly erased some years later, save for three and a half track surviving at the end of an archival videotape. When rediscovered in the mid 80s, this was used and the rest was erased!
I remember our band covering this cool song when we were just kids. hahaha...great to hear it again! ~KSK
One of the all time greats. Fleetwood Mac!
MARK DOLAN For sure Mark! And man...I just loved them when they had THIS line-up. They played such cool music back then!! ~K
Man i could watch greeny solo aaalll day
This the real Fleetwood mac
this is one of his best solos I reckon.
Peter. Always musical. Magical. The real thing.
Right on..
even them just tuning up gives me chills hahah
Peter absolute genius
Awesome post, man. Never seen live footage of the Mac as good as this...totally live. Thanks.
Killer!!! Peter made it look so easy.
Easily, Peter Greens best filmed solo performance on guitar. Danny get's to accompany him , as taught by peter. Great Bass playing, great drum's by mick . Over all the true recorded / performance of Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac.
let's focus on the maraccas for 35 FUCKING SECONDS
John Carver too right. sorely missing a kazzoo solo
Needed more cowbell! ref: SNL!
The 24.39 version of live at Boston is phenominal
seriously love this song... anytime I need to do anything fast I put it on and rock myself silly
Thank you.
A very underrated guitar player
Boy were they a smokin band back then.
Fleetwood mac and humble pie would be a great show.
I saw them at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit 68 or 69, I remember this being faster. But so what THEN PLAY ON!
This is great to see so young in that time so good.
A master lesson by Peter on that one! The *only* English guitarist I would put on the same podium as Freddie King (well, maybe Rory, too).
Rory is Irish, not English
The late Paul Kossoff deserves a mention.
