Not only do the top 10 get automatic equivalent UTMB entries, but so do the age group winners. According to the Runner's Guide: "In total, 225 runners are granted automatic qualification for the 2023 UTMB World Series Finals. This includes age-group category winners and the top 10 male and female runners in the 100M, 100K and 50K categories. Each age category represented at the start line will be allocated at least one bib. "
Great video, interesting to see the golden ticket races and I agree that a couple of them are a bit unusual but I guess that having UTMB winners will add some real depth to the field. I thought the Arc was a qualifier in some way (says it is on their website). Western States will be great to follow this year.
Very true, will certainly be a really interesting race with that much depth. The Arc finishers get entry into the WS lottery, which is the case with 100s of races worldwide. But the odds of getting in that way are pretty slim. The 7 golden ticket races are the only guaranteed ways in, for elites looking to finish in the top2.
@@theultratrailbreakdown OK got it. Will you be doing a video for the UTMB-Snowdonia? I'm hoping there will be some sort of coverage but all seems quiet on the media front at the minute.
you should start to have simon widjman on your radar

I don’t think I’ll ever understand the UTMB entry process, it seems just as confusing for elites as for the rest of us 😂
Thanks for the info though.
love your videos!!
Thank you 🙏

If only you had a microphone....
Sorry, I do but must have got the levels wrong, it sounded alright on my headphones. I'll try on a few devices next time.
