if u find your self with an older version that does not support recovery adb, go to advanced (in twrp) and click sideload, then instead of using "adb push" use "adb sideload" and the file name after it, this will directly install the zip file on the phone. done
This should get pushed to the top

This adbd's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set; try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.

When typing the adb fastboot commando i get a serial code, so that's working.
But when I try to push my flashable .zip file, it says "error: device not found". I have a 64gb Oneplus One and I accidentally removed my internal storage, so no OS, and now I'm trying to install OxygenOS, but I encounter this problem.
Any help appreciated, I can't survive without my phone haha ;)
EDIT: Yay, I fixed it!!! My problem was that I had the wrong ADB Drivers installed haha ;)

Alwin Van Gent I used the universal adb driver, but if that's not working, try the samsung adb driver.
If you have this "The system cannot find the path specified", just skip the "cd downloads" and "cd fastboot" part. It's only to direct the cmd to open the folder in which you put your fastboot folder.
INSTEAD
1. Open your fastboot folder, press Shift + Right click wherever on the folder and select "open command window here".
2. Make sure the files is already inside the folders
3. Inside the cmd, type: adb push filename /sdcard/.
to make the command of your filename right, only type the 1st phrase of your file and then press Tab on your keyboard (Just ike on the video). Sometime it'll appear using " ", sometimes doesn't

So how do you get TWRP on your phone in the first place if your phone is completely dead / bricked? The recovery mode lets you install something from ADB but I can't even access that at the moment.
Did you end up finding a way around this? I have the same problem.
1. Download Odin tool (if you have samsung phone) and twrp tool for "your devices"; 2. Extract in C:/ or where you want the odin.rar or zip; 3. Put twrp (it's called twrp.img/tar) into odin folder (already extracted); 4. Start Odin.exe, as you can see there are (BL- AP - CP - CSC - USER DATA) check first the little box at AP then click AP and choose the directory where you put twrp.img/tar and select it. Into the option tab just check/hit only (Auto Reboot & F.Reset Time) and nothing else. Once done, link your smartphone device with usb cable at pc... wait till Windows recognize and autoinstall drivers. Now turn your phone on and bring it in download mode (pressing vol down + home + power as samsung device). Odin will recognize your device and will show it in ID:COM with blue status bar and you will see also the log tab info.. Now just hit Start on Odin and wait till you see the process in Log tab it's all done/completed. Your phone will reboot and you have now twrp on your device. Just disconnect from usb cable & hit exit or close Odin.

Hey Max. Thanks for the video. I have a question. I've pushed the .zip file into this route "/sdcard/." including that dot. Then i tried it without the dot and it worked, but there's space "missing" in my sdcard, i think that the first push actually copied the file into the sdcard but i can't see it, so, how can i delete it?

Please make sure you are connecting your phone to USB 2.0 port. Universal Android Driver from Google does not work with USB 3.0 as of yesterday 4/16/2018. I had my LeEco Le Pro3 phone without OS and I didn't have a backup.
Yes always use USB 2.0 port if possible.

DJ HAVVOK MIXES, try downloading & stalling TWRP, Then download an older version of your OS, I had Oneplus Oxygen OS, then move the download file to your phone and update with TWRP. You should be able to update to the newest OS by OTA or with TWRP.

If someone can't find the file after a adb sideload you MUST set up the option MTP disable otherwise it will not works (the option can be find on the mount menu in the recovery mode)

Download fastboot.zip and unzip it, then copy the os youre gonna flash to the fastboot folder. Open up a cmd and type cd downloads (if you unzipped fastboot in downloads) then type cd fastboot. Connect your android device to your pc, in TWRP go to advanced and press on ADB sideload. In the cmd you have open type sideload *filename* (The name of the os youre gonna flash) . And thats about it

Man u made me learn something. I got my Zuk Z1 OS removed accidentally, somehow I got into twrp and then followed your steps which was like fresh water in a desert. But I did a small change since my device was not recognised, I choose ADB in twrp, swiped, adb devices, adb sideload cm13xxxxx and enter.

my phone has absolutely no OS installed, it's a LG VS810PP. When I boot it up it just stays at the LG logo, and will not shut off unless the battery is removed, any way to get it to the TWRP menu without having an OS or am I just screwed?

Mihai Ciobanu I know there are tools that you can use on the PC to flash a ROM onto it, even with our "hard bricked" phones. Problem is though, the VS810PP isn't popular and I have yet to find a ROM for it. The LG G4 on the other hand is more popular and you may find one on sites such as XDA Developers or something.
Its ok, I just updated the firmware ota by using lg bridge and now i am on 6.0 and works perfectly

hi max, i used a rooted meizu m2 note, while trying to unroot i delete some system app and the device restart itself. but the start up cannot proceed and stuck when the flyme icon appears, i wait untill the battery runs empty. after charginf fully and attemp to switch on the device same thing happen. when connect with the computer the computer cannot detect the device, what should i do...please help

Hi Max, I am desperate man, I want to put emui 5 and Android 7.0 on my Huawei G9/P9 Lite VNS-DL00C17B245.
The Hardware Model: HL2VENUSM is exactly the same as the VNS-L23C605B376, but this one is VNS-DL00C17B245. When ever I try copy this OS, and load it via ADB Sideload or update it to this file version, tells me could not perform update and that the file is corrupt.
The best I could do so far was update via firmware finder, to a version that at least supports Google. Ending in B249.
But that is not good enough, I want to put EMUI 5.0 and Nougat. I think I am being blocked because of the IMEI, can you confirm this is the reason, and if so, how to overcome this?

Please note the HARDWARE Versions are exactly same, identical. However on doing a comparison on Google, through one site, supposedly there is two differences, the G9, as upposed to the P9 VNS-L23 has no removal battery, and the G9 has a Gyroscope. But the hardware version in the about phone section states the exact same hardware model: HL2VENUSM
(History) I bought this phone off Amazon, with the listing stating it was the model number VNS-L23, and because I have one, I thought let me get it fo rmy wife, but got sent this VNS-DL00. Amazon has refunded me, not the seller, who wanted me to send the phone back for a refund, but I live far the F!#% away, and the shipping would cost more than that, to safely ship.
More info, the SD Card reader, AKA sim slot two not functioning, and neither is the main receiver, or mic, to receive calls, but the Loud Speaker mic does work. I do not know what this seller was smoking when he sent me this phone. Nevertheless, this problem has got me addicted, and I want to solve it. Can you help me, Please????
Extra Questions: IS there a way to simply clone my phone which is VNS-L23C605B376, complete. Just bypass everything and simply put a duplicate, exact 100% duplicate onto the other phone? Or maybe even better Clone the OS, over?

i am using a one plus 3 and i had all the stuff screwEd up my phone was not booting up i was stuck at the the boot image my recovery BACKUP Rom was not restoring i was frustrated my phone was looking like it was bricked
SOLUTION=
but all i had to do was download the original Rom from the one plus website
put my phone into T.w.r.p recovery mode
plug it into my system as done in the video
and if your drivers are already updated you can directly access your devices storage and then copy the Rom into the storage and then use t.w.r.p recovery to install it onto your device
AND YOUR DEVICE IS BACK ON!!!!!

Hey Max, I've a Lenovo S660. I rooted it. Yesterday I tried to do the OTA update(official), and later I realised that I shouldn't have done that. The OTA update came to almost 90% , and suddenly it said "Error". And device got bricked. So now as I've done a pretty much research on how to unbrick it, I know that I can use ADB on it. I've tried 2 stock roms with ADB, but it says "Installation Aborted". I think I need to clear the files that were created due to rooting. I've tried Factoryreset but still it's not unbricked. So can you please tell how to clear the memory of the device using ADB?
I didn't use CWM/TWRP. The ADB feature is inbuilt. If I need to use CWM/TWRP, please tell me how to install it?

Hello, my Gaba A62 is stuck on bootloop since i did a little mistake while editing the BUILD.PROP file from root.
I tried android commander to pull the build.prop and edit and then push it back. But I couldn't push it back since there was an erro saying , "You need root permission" . My phone is rooted though. Then I tried install a custom rom/os via adb. After transferring all the files successful, my phone said, " Error _Install aborted" . Please help me through this. :(
Thank you for making this video. I have a Kolina 100+. Twrp 2.8.2.0 installed. No O/S installed ((sigh)) I have a Mtk backup of the Kolina. I made th backup using Mtk tools. Coughs I have 3 backups,, the Twrp says the device is not rooted and no O/S installed. Can I use the mtk backup? Mtk only shows me a light blue color in the window and when i tried a few different mtk tool versions they didnt like the scatter file. Umm can I copy a zip to the Kolina tell it to use that to fix the phone ?
Hi Max!. I rooted my phone: alcatel onetouch 4030e glory2. I have not installed a custom recovery. I can only boot in my phone's stock recovery. It is in a bootloop after I installed a damaged bootanimation. Can I push the stock bootanimation with adb, without a TWRP or CWM recovery?

I just want to get my pictures directories off before I do a factory data reset, because 6.02 OTA stuck it in an endless boot at the loop loading apps screen. Show us how to do it with out TWRP or Clockwork Recovery, because I kept mine unrooted and stock for security reasons. I have the ADB Developer Toolkit installed on my Windows machine and have installed APKs with it before (like when I deleted the fracking stock Google Keyboard APK).
Shit with out knowing this one-word " PUSH " I fucking paid 20 USD to local shop to sideload file to internal memory & that guy did the rest. I tried whole night to some how push OSfile inside internal memory for andriod OP5 mbl and got frustrated, at one point I thought of throwing this OnePlus 5, even contacted OnePlus 5 team to help to take remote access....That didn't work either, But it's always good to learn something which I didn't know.

Hi there, I'm a newcomer, trying to install a custom ROM on my old galaxy note 1 n7000 for the very first time. I'm really struggling to install a custom recovery, I have tried just about anything but didn't succeed. Now my question is, can I install a custom ROM via side load on my device which is running a stock Android recovery? When I type the command I get an error message (not the message related to drivers update, in fact my laptop recognises my device and when I check device manager everything looks ok and I can see my phone listed as ADB device) The message I get is the following: ADB not known as internal or external command etc etc.." I'm basically stuck so any tips would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. :)

Dear, my problem is that I've a MI5 phone whose internal storage is full and it has gone for an OS upgrade. Now the phone is not booting (there's no provision of adding a microSD card either). Is there some way to move some of the files from the internal storage as I'm pretty sure that phone will then boot normally.

Edgar Lemus asked 3 months ago what to do if you don't have an OS or recovery. This is the problem I have on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 which makes it a very pricey paperweight. I've searched all over including extensively in the XDA forums. Every guide needs you to have either the OS or recovery like twrp. I have neither. The drivers for the KFHD8.9 also will not install on windows 10. I have the android SDK studio and platform tools installed but there is no communication between my pc and kindle using adb commands. I also cannot get it to go into fastboot no matter what I try.

now's time for moving cwm backup file to mobile as it got deleted too during factory reset
but i cant copy anything to /data/media/clockworkmod since it requires root permission
and SU command doesnt work in recovery
also i cant browse for backup files in cwm , it just checks one folder and thats it
TL;DR :- i cant move files to backup folder of cwm recovery
please help
What to do, when Smartphones doesn't turn on even power / download mode, although using charged battery? While backup, Smartphone turned off and since it's black screen and doesn't show signal of loading after plugging into socket / usb, I Guess the Power Button could have trouble & Firmware Software - I have to send mine to samsung repair service center, do You have some addtional ideas, would be much apprecaited, thanks!

My Kindle shows up under device manager>universal serial bus devices>kindle. When I attempt to install android_winusb.inf I receive the following message: The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x-64 based systems. Any advice?
I have a iBall Andi 5h mobile, and my problem with my mobile is one day mobile has shutdown and i tried to switch on after power on it is showing "No Command" error in screen and i thought it is some software problem then i reset my mobile by holding Power button+Volume down button then i selected "Wipe data/factory reset" and "Wipe Cache partition" cleaned then again i restarted my mobile using "reboot system now" option but it is not working again it is showing "No Command" error. Then i thought to install flash file through sd card but my mobile it not showing sd card. I think drivers also need to install my phone...So how to install drivers in "iBall Andi 5h" please share the procedure links/methods and software's which needs to use while installing drivers(iBall Andi 5h drivers link).
Note:" I tried to do root also but i'm couldn't b'cz using debugging option it not showing in mobile"

I have an issue with my device. I did just as the fellow below on accident. I'm kinda new to this as well. I flashed a few custom roms. Then decided to go back to stock rom, but problem is I messed up and locked the bootloader before I installed stock rom. After that for some unknown reason. ( The proper drivers are installed. SDK pack ) My pc will not see my phone now. HTC One m9. So for now its a paper weight. I tried to do adb commands but pc doesn't see phone right now. Also, since I did that ( NO OS because of wipe ), I can't load an img from the sd card because it wont read the sd card. How do I fix this mess?
Could do everything you indicated on my lg-p710. Tried installing CM11. Yet it still bootloops to TWRP. I had purified stock on my device and it got bricked after I received an official OTA update.
Hi I have a HTC one m7 with no OS. I deleted everything on the phone. I'm currently able to get into TWRP and transfer file on TWRP BUT somehow I don't get the "succes" message on my command prompt screen + I can't flash the ROM so i'm still without OS.

hey Max, my kindle hd 7 (tate) was rooted and running cm 12.1 but since i was gonna give it away I wanted to delete all data so i performed a data reset and basically now i'm stock on TWRP bootloop, on my mac using terminal i'm able to run ./adb devices and it does show the number - recovery but after that it doesn't let me do anything. I was able to push the new updated cm 12.1 was sent successfully then after ./adb reboot recovery and back to TWRP bootlooping, what should I do?? I can also get into fastboot on the tablet but it doesn't register on ./adb devices. So i can't fastboot flash anything ??
I own a Samsung Galaxy tab E sm-t561. After an update over the air, the device stuck on boot loop. I tried to restore it using factory reset and it doesn't work as it says, MDM doesn't allow wipe the device and reboots. I have tried to flash stock ROM using odin. While I was flashing, it says MDM mode, can't download. Do you know how to get around this thing with ADB?

okey, guys. My situation. I have one LG G4 in bootloop. with important data in the internal memory. i dont have adb enable, looked bootloader, adb tood dont foun my device. only can send command and see directory with Send_Commands.exe conected in port COM4 when my phone in download mode.
Okey, how i can download data from pnoe in this case. and after go flashing anyway.

Ok, so my problem is similar to this one..in which i bought a Oneplus 2 and i found out that it is already rooted. So I wanted to unroot it in the Kingroot app. When it went to reboot, the phone is stuck and can't load the OS. I wanted to try your method, but the problem is, I don't have TWRP or CWM installed. I'm using the stock recovery and all I can do is use sideload mode which keeps failing to install the Stock ROM or any of the updates of Oxygen OS. Is there a way to fix this?
