I am surprised this Saab is still for sale its in amazing condition, even here in Northern Europe they are rare and the ones that do exist are rotten on the floor pans and arches due to the vast quantities of rock salt we have on our roads ,if I could afford the shipping and tax for this car I would consider purchasing and having shipped back the homeland. You guys in the states need to snap this one up its a classic that is appreciating in value all the time. These sell in Europe for twice this price and very few are in original condition like this one, you are very lucky and I think its being under sold supply and demand is what makes this a bargain .

The Saab 900 turbo was the first official "yuppie car" back in the day. IMHO That is a great example of a real classic for reasonable money. Thanks for the video since I didn't know about some of those mechanical quirks on how the drivetrain was designed. Truly a unique car.

11:30 assembled by Saab-Valmet, here in Finland 🇫🇮. This era 900 is from my childhood, we had a lot of these here in Finland, but now they are rare to see. And the convertibles were almost all exported to the US where the weather is a bit more appropriate 😅. It’s such a unique design with the huge hood and all the quirks/saabisms. We didn’t have the airbag since it was not mandatory yet in those years.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the 900 convertible after I met a girl in a bar whose parents had bought her one.
We drove it nearly all night with the top down.

That sticker on the door is done because the speedometer was replaced which meant it went to 0 miles. You need to add that 12,000+ miles written on the sticker to the shown milage. I used to have to do that when I was a Tech before the electronically stored milage.

@@euroasianbob9268The reference kind of stuck for the wrong reasons I think. I've had several 900s, dash was sensibly laid out and were easy to drive. Only odd thing was where the key went and the gear lock out which mechanics often forced as they didn't know about it. It was a doddle to change the clutch as well. I miss the brand.

@@mlann2333 in Finland we called these things ’saabisms’. Like the power window buttons in middle of the seats, the giant hood, the curved windshield with the fully exposed wipers (which was easy to clean of snow) and the cabin air intake on top of the hood was pretty unique. We had several 900s and 99s in my childhood, I now have nostagia for them I didn’t fully appreciate at the time. The last one was a turbo which was the first car I was old enough to drive. Those days are long gone and most of the 900s have rusted away.
