    I brought one they are a awesome bike . I agree about the seat . The Harley Sundowner seat fixed that problem. S&S Grand National Slip on muffler sounds better but nothing like a Evo motor. There a lot of Harley Davidson riders knocking them without ever riding one . They should really ride one before they open their mouth about them . I have left so many of the red faced when l blast past them . Don't get me wrong l still love my M8 Softail Slim with stage 2 . I perfer riding the Nightster Special for power and handling

      I will admit I kinda ragged on the Nightster until I rode it. Riding it opened my eyes though, it's much more fun and capable than any Evo Sporty I ever rode or owned.

    I test rode the Nightster Special and had a similar reaction to you, loved it overall! Great acceleration and handling, but it definitely needs a better seat so you don't slide off. I also wish they would have finished off the left side of the engine, the exhaust side looks great and the opposite side doesn't even look remotely close and unfinished in comparison. Even with those complaints, it was an absolute blast to ride, and I kinda want one.

      I agree about the left side of the Rev Max, it looks unfinished.

      *If Harley can make the right side look like the left side, I would buy it today.*

    Those Rev Max Motors just kick ass. They have the grunt of a twin, and the pull of an inline 4. I totally agree about that exhaust sound. That looks like a great demo ride loop. You have to use your knees and squeeze the tank a bit like you would on a Sportsbike. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed getting your thoughts on it, real time.

      Appalachian HD does indeed have a fantastic ride loop. It's probably the best demo loop I've seen from any HD dealer.

    Looks like a fun bike for a short ride, but I agree with you, no windshield must have been rough.

    Hi. My name is Fabio Pelegrini. I'm from Brazil and I live in São Paulo. I don't know how to ride a motorcycle, but I'm thinking of buying a HD. I'm in doubt between the Low Rider S and Nightster models. What do you think is the best bike? Thanks!

    • @MotoMengy
      @MotoMengy  Рік тому +2

      I've ridden both, and both were nice. The Nightster was more fun to ride but also more sport riding oriented, while the Low Rider had mid controls and felt more cruiser like, plus it had better wind protection. So I'd say this: if you want sporty, go Nightster, if you want cruising, go Low Rider. 😎

    I think Harley Davidson did a fantastic job designing the new 975 Nightster. It looks as close to an old Sportster as it can, other than the engine and the muffler and the engine is what makes it better than the old traditional Sportster.
    I really don't care about ride modes. If I want to rip around, I'll downshift. If the road is wet I won't rip around. It's called common sense.
    I do wish the seat was hindged on the right side so when you dismount from the left (like most riders) and flip the seat up it would be out of the way and make it much easier to get the gas hose down to the filler cap. The way it is now, you have to drag the gas hose over the seat down to the filler cap or walk around to the other side of the bike. Just seems strange to me why Harley Davidson designed it this way.

      @MotoMengy  Рік тому

      The only two ride modes I use on my Wing are Tour and Sport, but I admit they could easily be combined and aren't really needed. Although I do use Rain mode sometimes if I'm in a monsoon, and it does help honestly. I think I'm a bit conflicted on ride modes, LOL!

    Wonder how it would be on dirt roads with a little more aggressive tires

    • @MotoMengy

      The suspension travel would probably hurt it a bit off road, it sits much lower than the Pan America.

    I really wanted to love the Nightster, but it doesn't sing to me. Performance wise, it's plenty good and looks wise it's growing on me a little bit, but overall, it's just not my cup of tea. Also, the price tag is just nuts and really is the icing on the cake for me, not to even consider it. Im buying the 2023 Indian Scout Rogue 60 for $2k-$3k less than a Nightster and it's got everything that sings to me. I'm just waiting for it to arrive at the dealer I ordered it at so I can complete my purchase and take it home.
    Granted the Indians are also pretty pricey as well nowadays so im not totally happy paying $12k for a Rogue 60 either but it is the bike I want and I really wanna reward myself for many years of living conservatively and recently paying off all my debt. Also had a very bad past year with my dog dying, dad getting cancer and my Aunt dying so I need a toy to lift my spirits up because the past year really put life into perspective for me. We only live once and life is short, so enjoy it!

    • @MotoMengy
      @MotoMengy  Рік тому +2

      I agree with you, the Nightster isn't my style and the price is too high. That said though I greatly enjoyed riding it, much more so than I expected to.

      @@BurgerRunBiker Yeah I think you'd be ok. For comparison the Low Rider ST had my knees very high, I think you would feel very cramped on that at 6'2", but I think the Nightster would be allright for you. Sat very much like the Pan Am but more forward leaning.

    Only positive review I ever seen. Won’t buy one though as you know they will be discontinued in a few years. They just can’t sell them. Seems the only people that like them are coming off a bagger. Looks and sounds cheap, was made for the European and Indian market but is priced too high for them as well.
