That last run showed how Pro he was ....tail end of his career, running better than 95 yards , and still wrapped up the ball with both arms, instead of doing a Leon Lett, or spiking the ball before crossing the goal line. Best in the Biz, in his Era, Rookie to Vet, bound for the HOF!
I'm a Bengals fan. I remember watching the play where Jeff Blake fumbled and Woodson returned it for a TD. Before the snap I was yelling at the TV "They're going to blitz! They're going to blitz!". When Blake took the snap and was immediately hit, I just facepalmed. The play was the epitome of the '90s Bengals.
7:16 Oakland Raiders Vs Broncos Mile high stadium 🏟 (2002) Rod Woodson Raiders Free Safety Oldest player ever to intercept a pass for a touchdown in an NFL game (he was 35 years old)
As a Steelers fan I was glad to see Rod win a ring even if it was with Baltimore. And no homo lol but he looked good in silver and black who most agree are the coolest uniforms. No one was gonna catch Woodson in a 100 yd dash and he was 35. He was an actual track star. In his early days with the Steelers anytime the other team would break a big run you could count on Rod coming out of nowhere into the screen to run them down.
@Anthony Rivers Woodson was a natural safety moved to Corner for the Steelers. Because of his safety mentally he often crept up and got caught staring in the backfield on play action passes which if it was a pass, he gave multiple steps to the WR going deep. He also bit hard on pump fakes which did the same thing. Had Rod not so often bit on pump and play fakes he would have been one of the best lock down corners ever. However, by being so aggressive he became one of the greatest big play DBs when he gambled and won.
@Anthony Rivers The Bobby Shaw play was the greatest pass Kordell ever through. Shaw caught it right in stride and had a step for the initial 40 as I mentioned earlier like with most WRs or DBs. It was also later in the game when Rod had been playing all night which takes it's toll. DBs aren't really the ones to show up in playoff games. If they're quite they're often doing their jobs. The Steelers D as a whole held the Chargers to 17 pts in the AFC title game. Doesn't matter they have up 2 big plays. If your O can't score 20 points the O is the problem. In the SB vs Dallas they held Emmit to 49 yds and Irvin to 77. In 93 they contained Montana's KC O but Foster was hurt and our O sucked again. In 92 they were young and sucked vs Reich
@Anthony Rivers he won a ring and his talent is what elevated that 2000 Ravens D to the next level with a QB like Dilfer. He also helped the Raiders get to one. All Kordell ever did was "Not show up" in 2 AFC title games.
Woodson could always lay the Wood, when it was demanded...and Paulumaulo.....Sanders, did the ole' O'lay like a bull fighter letting the Bull rush bypass. Steelers Safeties Complete Football Players, Sanders was just Showtime
As a Steelers fan I can tell you that's not really accurate. The 91 Bills slapped the Steelers, including a long bomb to Don Beebe on Rod Woodson and the 92 Bills slapped the Steelers in the playoffs with backup Bills Frank Reich. Pittsburgh shut them out in 93 and slapped them in 94 and Pittsburgh slapped them in the 95 playoffs. However in 94 the Bills didn't advance to the Super Bowl, San Deigo did by upsetting the Steelers in the AFC Championship. So in the actual years Buffalo advanced to the Super Bowl, 90, 91, 92, 93 they played the Steelers 3 times going 2-1 against the Steelers but 2-3 overall from 91-95
Intercepted 71 passes in his HOF career

@Anthony Rivers Stone was faster in the 40 but not the 100. Yeah, Green was faster but I an offensive guy after an interception wasn't catching Rod
@Anthony Rivers well in an open field no one ever caught him on int or kick unless he got gassed
