Good morning John God bless those still suffering in Western Carolina, it snowed all day yesterday, freezing rain most of the evening, everything is glazed over with ice, nothing is moving,
John, when I grew up, in the 30's and 40's in the woods of Maine, we had a hand pump in our kitchen to get our water from our well. Sometimes dad had to "prime it" to get it to suction water up from the well. I was about 10 before we got electricity to our house, to then buy a pump, to get plumbing into kitchen for a tap in the kitchen. Had a wood stove to cook on etc. Grateful we had a tiny house to live in during winter storms, with tarpaper for the covering on the outside.
So glad to see their 2024 Fall season . I hope it went well for this God fearing honest hard working family ! It’s always a pleasure to watch any of their stories on video and of course John from the Appalachian does an amazing job putting this all together ! Now this was a great tour by Eddy Gunether Mark usually did the ones I seen or his wife, and by the time they get to dipping them straws Im craving running a buttered biscuit threw a plate full of Sorghum I have to run to the Cracker Barrel and try to fill that void God Bless this family and all of their different business’s
Thanks John for another great video. Thanks also to the Guneththers family for sharing their life and values with us. I think we'd all be a lot healthier and happier if we followed these values and work ethics. I'd love to purchase some of your cookbooks. God Bless! 💖🙏
I love the ways of the menonites as we have them out in Lake of the Ozarks. I buy my produce all the time if I can get their in spring and summer at the farmees market. I see them come into home imprivement store I work at. I respect them. I don't push anything even ask them to sign up on a rewards thing as I know some don't believe or use internet much. I have to come out travelling that way and visit.
Absolutely we had to work from the time we were 5or6 years old we would pull weeds with our hands until we learned how to use a hoe , and carry wood in the house and carry water . That was the good days. 98 percent of the Children now day's don't know how to do nothing , most of them aren't even made to pick up after themselves. Learning children how to do things will be the best days of their lives if parents would only take time to teach them. I came from a family of 14 children and I am so thankful for the parents I had HARD WORKING AND VERY LOVING. Thank you John for this video it brought back a lot of memories. GOD bless and keep you warm and safe ❤🙏
