Many comments are seen saying that their mint stem is not rooting . There can be 2 possibilities : 1) the roots will develop only from the nodes . Mint leaves have long internodes . Internode is the area between two nodes . Nodes are those Points from where the leaves are present . While removing the leaves care must be taken not to damage the nodal area . Yes, remove all leaves except for a leaf or two and the length of the stem is 6" ( length of your palm ) so that energy is saved for firm rooting 2) the mint stems are too tender . That is too young . You can directly plant it in the pot / ground . Soil must be sprinkled with water to ensure that the soil is damp and not clogging with water. Water must drain out well .
@@bhartisadhwani1626 till good root system is developed and fresh leaves appear , it must bd kept away from direct sunlight. It can be in a place of bright light but not direct sunlight . That is the main reason for the tender plant to die off .
Was having the same issue, it helped cutting right 45degrees right under the nodes, with 4-5 leafs on top of the stem. This batch, I got roots from all stems.
Did this once but i planted it too quickly in soil before the roots formed..they did grow very little leaves now gonna do properly after watching this! Thanks.
I'm dyslexic and read change water every 3-4 days as Orange water every 3-4 days 😂 After googling Orange water for 10 mins, I made a start on my garden mint using this method, I have wanted to grow in a few small pots for ages, this was perfect Thanks for sharing.
@@creativityandfood189 Mint is very easy to grow. Mine in the ground is in the sun and does really well but it will grow anywhere so it will be fine in the shade too. I leave a few to flower and when finished for the year I just pull flowers off and spread them on ground, cut stems right down to two inches before the winter and every year it comes back bigger.
This method is absolutely true!!! I did place the mints in a large glass water and i did change the water and noticed the bottom leaves were getting rotten and i pulled them off and place clean water right where the sun shines!! And oh boy; miraculously, it was growing amazing long roots!!! Just place it on rich soil!! I live in a winter area and let mw tell you this; this miraculous plants comes year after year with fierce and it will miraculously grow and grow!!! I did all of these before i saw this video!! So; this guy it's AWESOME!!!! I just subscribed to you my man!!! Thanks a million!!!
I use a small glass bottle covered with aluminum foil to block light. The cuttings end floats in the water and does not touch the container. I think it might be better than bottoming them in a plastic clear container (but have not compared). It does not hold more than 3 cuttings though...
It’s my first time being a plantita. I bought my first plant, peppermint, but sadly, it didn’t live long. I also planted aloe vera, and it’s now dying, just like my snake plant.
Why did you cut the top off?? Also what kind of mint plant is that? I've never seen them root that fast... or grow that fast in the water, Looks more like a months worth. Where is the drainage hole in the pot? I would also gently push the plants down into the soil then spray so they don't fall over.
He cut the top bcos the leaves would take the food nd the roots would not grow. So he cut them so that they can root faster instead of giving food to the leaves.
How many inches should the new roots from stems be, before I plant them in soil? And what do I do with leafs that go black/start dying, even if the roots are comming along fine?
I got 3 mint plants you can't buy from the store a multi color mint i think it's related to peppermint from the leaf shape but grows really slow and spreads slow but is good mint an it's also gotta be related to the chocolate mint I have some wild canadian peppermint plants cant get that neither from the store unless you're looking hard off the internet you might can Most stores only sell spearmint plants an that's it
Hello. I did everything properly.. i planted the mint leaves in the pot yesterday. But this morning 90% of the cuttings are flat on the soil bed. Pls tell me what to do
After planting mint into new pot place you pot indirect for few day. otherwise its leaves will burn. and best time for plant plantation Start From 12 July in Monsoon season. hope you can under stand my words. Thanks
How come my mint wilted the next day after placing it in a bottle of water trying to root em? I also tried planting it directly to soil also same case. The mint jus turned soft and died similarly to putting into a bottle of water. Ive tried like 3-4 times different batches of mint, and they are all the same. Wonder whats wrong?

In this video the pot has no drain hole. Drain hole is compulsory. So kindly mention it properly.
