I'm a Zangief main, and have been since I was a kid playing SF2. I will never, ever understand the absolute abhorrence of that character. They didn't hate Hawk like that, not Abel, not Hakan, not Alex, not Hugo, not ANYBODY. Worst character by far in SFV, and they still complain!

1000%. I've played fg's my whole life and only recently decided to commit to a charge character. It took me less than a month to feel comfortable, and I seriously regret not trying sooner lol
I would've much preferred they kept bison dead till towards the end of SF6 rather than "Shadoloo is gone! We're going past sf3 finally" and Shadoloo is back basically a year into this game.

I love Bison tbf, and think he will defo be upper half competitively! I doubt he will dominate though. I think his scissors get better at higher levels when people aren't YOLO DI all the time haha. Has anyone noticed how tricky it is to go from down back to forward on his crusher? Is it just me but that never comes out
It's just charge being something to get used to I would guess. As for the DI thing, if you see someone yolo DI in neutral a bunch you can do jab - cancel into DI from midrange to check it. If you do it right the DI will only come out if they DI themselves, because otherwise the jab will whiff. Then, IF they adapt, you can start doing scissors in neutral. Might take a bit of training to get the timing down but I'd say it's worth it.

My take is that they only nerfed headbutt because Honda was getting some pretty big buffs in other areas. Also, I don't think scissors are on the level of headbutt. They need to be spaced somewhat, you can always punish if he cancels from a button and at the ranges it does trap on block it often doesn't create much value if it hits. Sure it's strong and the pushback on block could be nerfed, but people are definitely jumping the gun on the actual value of the move imo.

Begging them to make Scissors charge again. It's much more balanced, and much more fun, as a Bison main. I hate the way they keep hybridizing all the charge characters. I'm okay with him having Back Fist as a motion, but there's no reason for scissors not to be charge
It's not that the Zangief nerf ruins the character, but rather why it was needed. I find it hard to believe that Zangief was suddenly overrepresented in tournaments and taking the other top 7 places in those tournaments. Viewers were forced to watch hundreds of Zangief mirror matches because one of his pokes was quite pesky. Give me a break.
it was a good poke they took away good poke. That simple, don't overcomplicate a nerf I assure you a lot of the times the developers don't actually know the full ramifications of their actions until after the patch is live.

Bison is so comically over tuned it's absolutely awful. Until his inevitable nerf it's miserable out there. It took me one day to get him to master and I didn't have to understand a single thing about him to do it.
Jamie literally has everything but a fireball. And theyve buffed him the most of every character in every balance patch so hes progressively getting better and better
Bison may be annoyingly overtuned but the constant dooming i am seeing online about this guy is infinitely more annoying. A character being a bit cheap and hard to deal with wont hurt the games scene in the long run but a constant echo chamber of vitriol certainly will. Unless you are playing this game for money, at the end of the day we are all just here to have fun. Save the malice for some more pressing issues please
Eh. Aki, Ed and Rashid on release were meh. Theyve just overtuned bison and maybe akuma. The first 3 only becoming good recently makes me think the last 2 dlc characters being strong isnt an international thing
@@EXFrost the thing is they specifically nerfed everyone so that one strong move wont be used over and over but then release akuma and bison with those exact things. they nerfed akumas air fireball after a while and i bet they will nerf bisons scissor kick after a while. there is no reason they would not know those two moves will be spammed besides letting it be op on purpose so people would buy them, mainly casuals or noobies who get destroyed by it. imagine making guiles booms non charged, bisons kick is basically that maybe even better.
