This is the best review of the Elite 4 Ive seen. Thank you so much for taking the time to do so. As for me. I love Brooks shoes and bet they will have something else up their sleeve soon for long distance runners. I will wait till then.
It's curious. I ran a marathon race in these. It was my most comfortable and strongest marathon out of 4. Of course, it was also the best weather, I was well hydrated, etc. My marathon's have been in Adios pro 3, vaporfly 3, hyperion max (i did this one slowly) and the hyperion elite 4. Out of all, the least amount of pain was had in the brooks shoes. I was fastest in the first half using vaporflys but my PR is on the elite 4. It's weird, because you're right, they dont feel as fast as the VF3 but I can't seem to be consistently fast in VF3. My conclusion is that it's the normal persons racer but maybe im wrong. in any case, this was an excellent test. @Testers
@@Leporkchop34 I had a similiar experiance last year (first half ) In the puma deviate elite2, nothing outstanding to put my finger on , but just a light consistant ride that got me through the 26.2 in good time (and never bottoms out dispite a little less stack) I wonder if this shoe is the same
Hi (Kieran here) controversial amid all the noise about shoes and gains but I don't believe the shoes make the PB. I'm pretty sure I could run fast marathon times in the Elite 4 and I think they'd be a good marathon shoe for some runners because they're quite balanced.
That is what i call an inspiration... i'm a beginer, struglibg with 8-10k. Thanks for showing that just go out for a 42k because u want to check a shoe is an option... Udj
I like the upper which Brooks has mastered the uppers and I like what they did with the carbon plate here and even the outsole. The only thing against Brooks is the midsole. For racing shoes they really need to leapfrog to better foams. Even HOKA and New Balance has made the switch on the upper end. I guess for a company that has loyal customers for their mainstream shoes (or well established sales channels) the high end is really not a big priority. The designer of the shoe basically did the best with what they were allowed to use or given. That said, Brooks athlete and 50K world record holder CJ Albertson won two marathons in these shoes (CIM and Baja California a week later) in 2:11:09 and 2:11:08. I guess they are not that bad for someone that can push and compress the foam.
The solo marathon is a great idea. I agree; it's too expensive for a shoe that lacks a really premium foam when you can get real super shoes for the same price.
Kudos to you Kieran for doing that! Thanks for the information on the Elite V4.
No problem. Happy I get to run impromptu marathons and call it work! Glad you enjoyed it.
Kieran casually running a marathon to test shoes. Awesome.
yeah, just a casual sub 4, nothing special 😂
I’m all about this Kieran guy! This guy decides to review the shoe for a marathon and actually runs a marathon! What a madman and hero!!!
😂😂 Come join me on the next one mate.
@@TheRunTesters do you have ambulances on standby?

I gave you a 'like' just because you ran a marathon in mid-week. Awesome stuff :)
Thanks Ian.
Awesome work from Kieran. More of this with the other super shoes please!
Thx for this excellent video.
It's our pleasure. Thanks for watching and the kind words. It's appreciated.

Kieran is just the best!
Sounds like a Super Trainer for the price of a top tier Supershoe... Kind of ridiculous unless you' re a hardcore Brooks fan.
I think Brooks know they have work to do in this space. But it's hard to recommend them when you compare to what else is out there for the price.

You can run fast in these for sure. And there's a lot to like I think. The uppers are really nice.
Awesome review. 👏🏼 keep it up 👍🏼
…not like a review from another channel that only ran 6miles on a shoe (velocity nitro 3) and concluded it’s over.
Glad you enjoyed it. Try to test these properly. Can't do a marathon in them all but I was curious with this one.

I think the Hyperion Max is better
