    • ASIMO Robot Next-Gener...
    Robots have been one of the most fantasized electronic gadgets from a long long time. Now it's time to unveil the top 3 humanoid robots in the world today.
    1: Honda ASIMO
    Astronaut look alike Robot ASIMO by Honda probably is the most famous Humanoid robot till now.It is the first ever robot to walk,move and even climb stairs like humans.ASIMO is 4 Ft 3 inch tall and weighs 53 kilograms. One could call it the foundation for the future generation of robotics.It took over 15 years of extensive research to get it in this shape.
    No. 2: Kawada HRP-4
    A slim,fast and more advanced robot by the Japanese.
    No. 3: Aldebaran Nao
    One of the cutest and most intelligent robots,the Aldebaran Nao can behave on its own and can always be programmed to do more.

    he Robot at the end was mind boggling, it said it "wanted" to do something else, and ontop of that it responded to the man like if it were another person if he did something to it or said something to it.. That robot by far has my vote for the smartest A.I. on Earth.

      Russian Turnipz the robot's reaction to being told to stay quiet looked a bit like a toddler tantrum also was it just me or did the eyes turn red

    • @DanFrederiksen
      @DanFrederiksen 9 років тому +5

      Russian Turnipz it's just an act. There is no understanding in it at all. It's speech recognition like a cellphone does and then preprogrammed reaction to a few known sentences. It's 100% fake.
      Asimo is the most advaned by far but it's a fundamentally flawed premise that you can program discrete abilities. Reality is far too complex for such a simplistic approach which is why Asimo is 100% useless in reality. Nao is kid's toy. None of them have any AI of significance. Not even a little.

    I find this aspect of human psychology fascinating. It's a machine just like a toaster or washing machine or laptop. But once we give it human features, movements, and a voice people start giving it gender pronouns, empathizing when it falls, and attributing feelings of connection to it. Anthropomorphism is a powerful thing.

    Laws of robotics:
    1- A robot must protect human life above all else.
    2- A robot must protect it's own existence unless it Interferes with the first law.
    3- A robot must follow the commands of a human unless it Interferes with the first or second laws.

    ASIMO is nothing more than a mascot for honda and thats all, it has no practical use, it is probably the most advanced humanoid robot, but its got a hell of a long way to go.

    • @hzuiel
      @hzuiel 10 років тому +8

      You realize that even if asimo as a unit serves no purpose, the technology designed to create him has practical uses in industrial robots and other consumer products, and may eventually be a building block to a real self thinking robot that is capable of carrying out tasks.

    • @nzoomed
      @nzoomed 10 років тому

      hzuiel Quite true, but how much of the technology has Honda actually developed on their own for it? The main thing would be the software to run it that they would have developed, things such as processors, and sensors etc more than likley built by third parties. Its still a big step in robotics, but we need to see more.

    • @hzuiel
      @hzuiel 10 років тому +3

      nzoomed en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimo#Development_history It mentions no third parties. I'm not sure why that would matter either.... My point is that it's a stepping stone to more advanced robots. Every thing we develop or discover leads to the next.

    • @nzoomed
      @nzoomed 10 років тому

      hzuiel
      I was more getting at that most of the technology used in ASIMO has already been here, its just a matter of putting it all together to work.

    • @hzuiel
      @hzuiel 10 років тому +1

      nzoomed What are you basing your discrediting of honda on though? It's hard telling how many have worked in that division of honda, with however many man hours, over the course of what looks to be about 34 years now. Are you seriously implying that they just took some sensors from some other company, and a few parts from a hobby shop and threw them together to make a mascot?

    well, that looks promising on the looks and movement front. but the main difficulty is to emulate the brain. i.e. human thinking. we're so hopelessly far behind on that one. we think the way we do because of the time we spent growing and learning. but what we try to do is build an A.I. that already thinks like us without any self-development.
    the key aspect is learning: perfect A.I. is not one that thinks, feels or reacts like humans but one that learns like humans.

    • @SuperKimxD

      So hopelessly far behind compared to what?

    • @teeds88
      @teeds88 10 років тому

      compared to how far we are concerning the design of the exterior. robots we make are already beautiful, we can make them pretty small or we can even make them look exactly like a human (minus their movement). but they're dumb as shit.

    • @dizzykiwi3
      @dizzykiwi3 10 років тому +5

      As well, most of these designs dont function at all how the human body works, using gears and axes rather than tissue and muscles. It's kind of like planes and birds. They both fly, and planes fly faster. And so these robots can do certain things better than humans (lift objects, etc) but because they're not designed like humans, they can fundamentally never be like humans, as cosmetically as they may seem like one, which is why you can make a robot walk but making it pick up a feather or write with a pencil is a completely different issue.

    Asimo wins, the other two robots are just coding. Asimo actually thinks

    • @nielzdg
      @nielzdg 10 років тому

      At the base of their intelligence they're all just coding, really. The way they process and use information from around them is pre-programmed. Self-conscious computers/robots still don't exist in this age of time.

    • @LukeHan2001
      @LukeHan2001 10 років тому

      True, but Aismo basically plots a chart and is up to date with all sorts of stuff happening. Check out their website. It's coding but more complex then the other two.

      M. Victor Howard how about we make a robot that is fully adapted to nature then having a robotic human head

    • @TheNerdynigga
      @TheNerdynigga 9 років тому

      David Nguyen the thing is something can't be fully adapted to nature. To adapt is to respond to change. There is a nearly infinite potential for change in any environment so its impossible to fully adapt. To create a robot that can adapt like we can is incredibly difficult. It would essential be a true Artificial Intelligence. We don't understand enough about how our brains work yet. We will but as it stands its just not possible.

    As soon as I can have a very small robot which can prepare my dinner when I m back from work, alarm me via SMS and a huge alarm when someone try to steal my bag at the beach, let my neighbours know that strange people are around in hour Street and... Make foot massage when I m in my bed at the beach.. So need full connectivity sensors, alarm, speak with me and huge battery and solar as well... And very reliable... I think that I ll bring it to all my travels and that robot will be my best friend for my mobility and for keeping my family safe. I m sure to be the first customer!!

    This is quite impressive, very true. But I wish Sony had continued development on QRIO, it's not widely known that QRIO was fully autonomous unlike ASIMO. Honda rely on several different models of ASIMO to carry out all it's functions.

    Pinocchio, up a notch! I find it marvelous. Every new frontier, the mechanics of neurology and physiology and the interplay as the motions are learned, anticipation is developed, memory is expanded, refined, transformed, ethics reevaluated and enabled, where is the center, the edges, without fear of casual senses, yet awareness is key, sensitivity, who is pulling or pushing which strings, keys, formulas, code is the mode, while we decide whether we like, or agree, the technology advances and shall settle itself into our history, or settle us into their' a... Whoa, not so fast... Better start remembering my passwords now!!!!!
