In memory of Alan Pegler: 16 April 1920-18 March 2012. On 13 October 2018, his ashes were taken on board the Flying Scotsman for a journey from London King's Cross to York. As he had wished, they were scattered in the firebox as the train ascended Stoke Bank. His daughter Penny Vaudoyer was on the footplate. May his soul rest in piece. Thanks for saving our beloved Scotsman.
It's so good to see the story of the Flying Scotsman turns into the Railway Series look. Gordon and Flying Scotsman will be brothers forever in our hearts.
I encourage such a goal. Especially with the positive perception of rail not being the same in the US as it used to be (though I think there is a comeback). Therefore, the more the merrier!
@@GeneralLiuofBoston1911 I wouldn't necessarily say the perception of rail in the US is making a comeback. It's still being seen as either an unnecessary expense (despite the fact that freight rail is literally the backbone of shipping in the North American continent and without it the economies of both the US and Canada would collapse) or as a political talking point here. But people are getting fed up with piss-poor airline service here in the US and Amtrak and other intercity trains are becoming an increasingly appealing alternative simply on the grounds that you don't have to put up with being treated like cattle, robbed of your dignity by security or packed into a tin can like sardines. Even the old Amfleet cars have far better legroom, plus you can get up and walk around to stretch your legs while in-route. No random stops for patdowns just to get to where you're going either, and rail delays are generally a lot shorter than airline delays.
Dwight brings up a good point about rail equipment preservation in the US. Apart from a handful of heritage programs operated by railroad companies and some narrow-gauge heritage lines, most preserved locomotives in the US are purely left on static display. And there's a reason for that - the main railroad companies here absolutely HATE sharing their lines with anyone else. They barely tolerate Amtrak and the various commuter lines, let alone heritage groups. The T1 Foundation is going to be in for an absolute nightmare finding somewhere to run their Duplex once it's built.
Alright I finally got around to watching the movie. And I'm very impressed! As I'm sure has already been pointed out, I think the film is sort of lacking in the visual and audio departments, but I think it more than makes up for it with the story and little details! I also love how you personified every engine Scotsman met. Personally I would have made "Jacob" a girl and called her Savannah.
I think I noticed that you used one of the pieces that unlucky tug used for music during the 1970 tour, and the information was beautifully delivered. Did you use his video as a basis? I love how you were able to translate the information into dialogue. It’s a beautiful complement to this event, and I think that you are incredible for going through all that hard work just to do this.
@@safiuddinhanafy2014 that’s OK, :-), an easy way to distinguish the A4 class is the distinctive streamlined shape, or in a movie like this, or T and F, their face plates are square.
If I'm being honest I'm pretty sure the reason why that American turntable could fit Scotsman with HIS 2 tenders (I say his because and Thomas and friends The flying Scotsman is depicted as a male while in real life it is called a female) the reason it can fit that long is because back in the day there were probably other long engines like Union Pacific Big boy and other engines like that American steam engines are oftentimes a lot bigger than in British ones
I think the Fat Controller should have bought Flying Scotsman in 1967 when he needed another locomotive (and BoCo's brother CoBo in 1986). In my headcanon CoBo (D5705) joins the NWR in the early 1990s after a chance meeting between BoCo and the Norramby branch diesels Derby & Matlock, who met CoBo during their trials on the Matlock line on the mainland. I think the How To Train Your Dragon music suits Flying Scotsman; The Scotsman Returns uses the HTTYD music as Flying Scotsman's theme. I think the orchestral version of the Tornados Telstar would be good as Tornado's theme - and the Blue Peter theme as Blue Peter's theme!
The music used when Scotsman was about to leave the UK, that is, the music used during Sole Survivor Edge of Extinction when roblox players are competing for immunity at tribal council.
So back then I guess the UK kept switching from one minister to the next was frustrating I live in America, we a President of our entire country, the only problem is that half of us is divided on what the President is doing
Just letting you know there’s something I need to point out Amtrak doesn’t exist yet even though we see in the background it was founded in 1971 and this takes place in 1969 so Amtrak doesn’t exist yet and those coaches don’t exist yet
@@StuartStudios5 We’re not too far off each other then, I just googled most popular male American baby names, and Jacob was the first one that showed up on the list. That’s how I came up with the names for some of the characters in Redcliff Railway Tales.

This is fantastic! I loved it! Glad someone finally made a fan made movie of the USA and Canada Tour! :)
The sprinkling of historical information to make sense as real dialogue is great. Especially the beginning, it got me really excited to see the rest.
DAMN IT!! I wanted to make a Scotsman USA tour movie but you beat me to it. (Maybe I'll just do it anyway)

I remember when I first saw this movie and cried when Flying Scotsman reunited with Gordon after his tour. A year later and I still cry.
That was really brilliant! I'm so grateful to be a part of this.
i have heard of masterpieces but this is the GREATEST MASTERPIECE i have ever seen congratulations for making one of the best videos i have ever seen

I'm really surprised Gordon did not go off on Thomas about him saying that Flying Scotsman what the second to go 100 mph and not the first
