WOW, 5 thumbs down on a Will Greer vid? Astounding, who _ARE_ these people who have the audacity to thumbs down Grandpa Walton? Shoooooooey, five children are sure to be sent to their room to think about what they have done.
He's so cute. :) As for his singing, people need to do some broadway character research. Unfortunately there is a misconception these days that all broadway stars are belters. Broadway has always been made up of character actors/singers with the occasional "star talent". This is an older man in a character role which takes the piss and isn't auto-tuned to hell and gone. Deal with it.
You are right, his announcer did say it was a skit he did in a movie that he did back in the 30's or 40's.. It kinda reminded me of the Ziegfeld Follies..
They spent too much talking about Geer, and not enough providing context for this. No one here has a clue what this 'protest opera' is about, or the history behind this remarkable work originally produced by the WPA in the midsts of the Great Depression, class friction, unionism and the 'company town' that this play satirizes. We don't even know what he is singing about, so are we a left judging is the Geer's aged voice. I urge all of you to read up on the play, Orson Wells and John Houseman fought so hard to bring against incredible odds to any stage in New York.
Michael Learned is a beautiful woman, and Will is like the grandfather every child wanted. And, no, he didn't deserve the blacklisting he got, so good riddance to you Klutzy!
yes he cant sing very well, but he is def an old salt actor who is maybe bidding farewell to the stage here.. he wasnt always old ya know he prob was much better longer ago
He was,he had a wonderful slightly husky tenor/baritone.he's actually on 3 or 4 old Woody Guthrie albums,( originals of This Land is my land & Hurricane come to mind) & helped him write more than a few (mostly uncredited, like many were before huge record conglomerates)
Wow, she is gorgeous!

Probably the same tards who hate him because he was bisexual.

All criticisms are autobiographies.
The act was, no doubt, inspired by Watergate, which was the big story of that time.
