It is a tight race for my fav mashup by them between this one and their 'La La Latch' which is a mashup of Disclosure's 'Latch' and Naughty Boy's 'La La La' both of which featured Sam Smith. The transitions and the overlapping of the two are so smooth and seamless it seems as though they are just one song. I think you would really enjoy that one as well.
PTX could probably write a book on how to do mashups. They started on _The Sing-Off_ and they haven't stopped since; I've never heard anyone else do it as well as they do.
That's really New York City you see in the background through the windows - Kirstie was appearing on Broadway in Kinky Boots, and couldn't break free, so the rest of the group came to her for the video!
I just have so say, I love your reactions! I've only seen this performance a couple times, because I am not familiar with the original songs (I'm old). I knew you would, though, and you didn't disappoint! PTX always rocks in their performance!
Loved your reaction! That's how I feel every time I hear this song. Matt and Kevin are fire. Scott is so soulful. Mitch and Kirstie are amazing. This mashup is seamless.
I believe that this was filmed in NYC because Kirstin was doing her Broadway stint, the ingenue role (Lauren) in Kinky Boots, during this time. Certainly the setting seems to be a plush NYC highrise apartment. Lots of folks believe that Mitch is channeling Freddie Mercury in his look at this point; I sure see the resemblance (I was a hardcore Queen fan in high school and college).
This is one of my very favorite Pentatonix videos. Thank you for reacting to it. Glad that you liked it. They are the kings and queen of mashups and medleys and they are highly skilled at weaving songs together seamlessly. The idea for this mashups was Kevin's. I love how Kevin and Matt produced that iconic opening sound with their voices and kept the perfect beat throughout. Scott was an amazing lead, as usual. Kirstin and Mitch harmonized and did backing vocals beautifully, as always. I love everything about this PTX video..
Just want to suggest doing some soli Kevin. Kevin's fifth is a live performance and will blow your mind. Or his Kover of Down or Sign of the times. He can really sing and his cello boxing is amazing. He's so talented
They are the unrivaled masters of the mashup. This one is epic, and as others have mentioned an old one "La La Latch" is another great one. My favorite of their mashups is "Despacito x Shape of You". Sadly, there's no official video for it, but there are a few fan-shot videos from concerts with them performing it. The audio only version off their album is great too if you don't mind not having the visuals.
I love it when we can hear Matt and Kevin riffing together (am I using that word correctly?). Matt tends to be so subtle with his bass that we have to listen very carefully for it. I count this as one of Matt's strengths, but I still like to be able to actually hear him every once in a while.
My favorite ‘intro to Matt’ song, just love the obvious fun he & KO are having together
This and Sound of Silence were my first Matt vids and I was sold immediately.

Kevin and Matt CRUSHED THIS!!! That human ping run is crazy!! Matt with that DISTORTED BASS!!! Holy cheet!!!
That was the BEST reaction I have seen!!!! It is necessary for newbies to save this for later in their dive into the PTX hole. 👏🏻

The are the mashmasters. No one touches their mashups.

Love Matt's bass!!! One of my favorites.

The drum and bass lines are just fire.
Yes!!!! This one is all kinds of 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Super reaction to this 👏🏻😁
I believe mash ups are Pentatonix's super power!
It’s legit crazy how they keep getting better.

I knew you would love this.
Sorry, I missed it on the live. My internet was being a jerk.
Will be waiting to see what else I missed.
it's ok!

You should watch LaLa Latch…another phenomenal mashup. It’s Sam Smith/Disclosure/Naughty Boy. It’s one of my favorite!
Now that was fun!!!🎉
Recommend their cover of Seasons Of Love (PBS televised version).
la la latch is my favorite mash up of theirs.
