Congratulations! Freedom as an adult is something you absolutely take for granted, until you lose it. I wasn’t held after my DUI arrest in 2020, but I did go to rehab a couple years ago, my first inpatient after 14yrs of addiction, and I remember the day I got out…being able to smoke whenever I wanted, with my own lighter, felt so foreign. Going to the store felt weird, too. Driving. Absolutely everything. And that was after only a month away! I can’t imagine how it feels after years!
nice! When I was a sophomore in high school many decades ago, I finally got the braces off my teeth after several years (and much mocking), and I can remember walking on air after leaving the orthodontist. My first stop was to a local fruit stand where I bought a big, crunchy apple and bit into it. All these years later I can taste it and feel it - it was freedom. Now multiply that by about a million and I'd imagine that's what you're feeling...
That’s exactly how I felt as well when I was finally set free of braces after a long 8 years. And what makes it more special it happened on my birthday date. I may have been pretty sore and not able to enjoy my birthday dinner as much but that didn’t matter to me it was the best present I could have ever had the freedom of seeing my teeth straight for the first time. It feels great to be braces free years later
