I love that they reworked sisters vis, gish, C.H.A.D and Steven with attacks from the original games, and they even resprite them to look like the original ones
All of these are pretty much objective improvements, but then Blue Baby hits you with the ‘what if this wasn’t just ONE vastly improved boss, but two new bosses as well?’
Love every part of sister vis's redesign. For Gish, I like the wall sticking design, but I think he should jump slightly more frequently. Obviously, the original was quite lackluster and basically just a monstro copy, so I still vastly prefer to wall sticking and projectiles designs. Forsaken is alright, but kind of lacks variety. I think the 3 forsakens attacking ends a bit too fast and feels a bit lackluster. Maybe they could throw the 5 bone spreadshot, then proceed to charge at you? when they bump into the walls, they are destroyed, throws a valley of bone projectiles, and spawns 2 bonies. Could be evil of me but I think he could also spawn with 3 death's heads. Love the ???/Forgor/Lost fight. Love Steven. It was just a gemini copy before Love Hush's first part fight. It was literally ??? before I don't really like Rag Mega's redeign. The plasma balls sticking to rag mega makes him much harder to hit, and generally makes the fight much longer. I feel like in combination with rag mega, invincibility already, the fight could be frustrating. It also feels a bit more generic because now the plasma balls are just there to protect rag mega and shoot Isaac. I think the balls just being there to chase Isaac is fine. If anything, I think rag mega should utilize the spheres for more physical attacks. So for example, he can have a visual cue of trying to suck up the balls, and the balls will stop chasing you and get sucked into him, only for rag mega to spew them out, bouncing in different directions. This could also be fun because chugging a bomb at this moment can also make rag mega swallow it, severely damaging him. I like satan's both phases, but just having the legs stomp down while creating shockwaves without the leeches feel a bit lackluster. Maybe he can spawn nulls? (I personally hate exploding leeches). I still like the random brimstone from Blighted Ovum. It kind of forces you to watch out for circling around not too fast, but also watching out for the little ghost shooting brim. But I do like the change that the little ghost enters the chaser's body I don't really like mask of infamy. Tbh, it feels too much like visage, although obviously visage was based on mask of infamy originally. And I feel like sometimes the heart and head charging at you while creating shockwaves could potentially create undodgeable situations. I still think shooting behind him is fairer. I think that once the heart is "defeated," it could be fairer to have the mask charge you, but leave red, throwable bombs behind, that you can use to explode him (mask of infamy can be damaged from the front with a bomb) stain is cool. A bit like worm friend Generally, I still really like the redesigns. Feels like there's no unfair extra hard attacks and everything has a visual cue. Experienced Isaac players won't feel out of place and most attacks are somewhat familiar
Forsaken has another attack that was not shown in the video Rag Mega also has a few attacks that were not shown (coincidentally, the one where he sucks up the orbs and then spits them out is one of them)
@@witchamy Yeah, I think Forsaken had some kind of brimstone attack with his copies? Not sure, but I remember fighting him yesterday and that happened. And Blighted Ovun's second phase has an attack where he turns transparent and walks throught obstacles.
I actually like how they went with the mask of infamy because in the OG fight it would be very hard to hit its back if your speed stat wasn't high enough but i think that TMOI was a bad choice to be a boss because of just being the enemy but big syndrome
The reworked first phase of hush is something I believe should be in the game. It has attacks that hush would use, and feels like a proper intro. The one in vanilla just feels like “what if we took the chest boss, and did it again?”
I absolutely love all of these, especially the ??? fight because I personally believe it adds accuracy to the lore and all that. However, the first two phases of the ??? fight seem a little ridiculous. Some of the attacks can be basically unavoidable if you were unlucky enough to position yourself too close to the wall or haven’t managed to find a “safe spot” in the room. This was most notable with the 1st phase’s tear ring + homing attack and the forgotten phase’s melee attack. But again, I still love the idea.
I feel like the Lost phase of ??? should happen when you drain it's health completely, and it instead has a barrier you're whittling down until the first shot you actually hit it with afterwards finishes it.
I like how the blue baby boss battle uses all 3 of the dead Issac forms in order of decay, 1st blue baby, which has basically just died, then the forgotten, which is just the bones, and finally the lost, where the bones are no more.
Man i wish little horn and big horn has mor synergies like 2x hp for both and each having a rage mode when the orher dies and is called the horn brothers it gives guaranteed chance for little horn item with the boss room items
i really hope this mod also updates all of the boss champions, or at least their artwork. if half of the bosses have this new style, but the other half are just vanilla, that would kinda take me out of it :(
To be fair you kinda already get that effect with Repentance, you can clearly see the difference in quality at times between new and old bosses (it helps though that Rep *did* actually update some old boss art to make it more consistent)

No most isaac bosses are terrible the game is unplayable without this mod
