Brilliant! It simply never occurred to me to lift out some of the foliage in order to place the sky hole. Excellent quick tip!

I'm glad I watched this! I've been struggling with a landscape in which the trees are basically in silhouette and are backlit by sunrise colors. I think these principals should be the same, however, so I'm going to give it a try. I was getting very discouraged trying to figure this out, so I really appreciate this quick tip. Thank you.

Susanne, if you take into account where the light source is located, it helps you know what to do.

Great demo Dianne and thank you for reminding us we need to blend the sky holes.

Any recommendations for long synthetic brushes for golden open acrylics?

I hesitate to make recommendations for painting in acrylics because I haven't used them in decades, but you can always trust brushes made by Rosemary and Co.

Why not just paint the sky first? You don’t have to wait for it to dry.
