    Honestly, "Impossible Mission" and "Gateway to Apshai" alone do it for me. I *love* both of those games!

    Great, now I'm going to have the old jingle "I adore my SIXTY-FOUR, my Commodore 64" in my head all day.

    It's an "eclectic" mix, primarily driven by what licenses were available cheap (Epyx and Hewson games appear on everything). There are still some great games though, since those two companies were two of the best! My faves from this bunch are Alleykat, Impossible Mission and Bruce Lee, though I enjoyed just about all of these back in the day.

    Jumpman was the video game of the year in like '83 but when the sequel was released the formula was regarded as saturated with home ports of Miner2049er and a certain ape battling plumber

    That is definitely not what I expected when I heard "Alley Cat from 1986".

      Thank you! I've been trying to livestream on Thursday nights, usually around 11 pm EST, but yes, I do random nights sometimes and occasionally miss Thursdays. It's a bummer about the notifications.

    When I think Commodore 64, I think about Wasteland, The Dungeons and Dragons gold box series and The Bards Tale. The fact that you never see these games on any collection must mean there's a licensing issue. Ya the Commodore 64 had arcade games but at the time the Nintendo was far superior. I even prefer Elevator Action on the NES to Impossible Mission. Maybe future installments will have some more RPG's. Nice review as always.

      Both Wasteland and Bard's Tale are owned by InXile, who is a Microsoft IP so yes they would have to get a license for them.

      Good luck licensing D&D from Wizards of the Coast, lol! 😆 Besides, the Amiga ports are FAR superior...I've played them on my A500 Mini.

      First of all, i still own the original
      Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 computers
      + games 😺👍.
      And second of all, i still would like to look for
      these classic games...
      - WASTELAND
      - MARS SAGA
      - ALTERNATE REALITY: THE CITY
      - ALTERNATE REALITY: THE DUNGEON
      ...for my Commodore 64 and also BATTLETECH for my Amiga 500.
      I admit, that i am a retrospective tomcat 😺👍🕹️.
      Greetings from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮

    Street Sports Baseball - Good job on hitting the ball (unless you were pitching). Most people who've reviewed this cartridge can't hit the ball. And one gave up without ever actually getting into the game. This is the only baseball game I've ever liked, precisely because the characters all have their own personality.
    Impossible Mission - In every review of this cartridge, when they show the first couple of rooms, they're always the same instead of being randomized like the original game. Does the map change if you start a new game without quiting back to the Evercade menu?

    • @thenosweargamer1449
      @thenosweargamer1449  Рік тому

      I had to learn to look on the right side to learn to hit. I need to see if IP randomizes when you reset. I thought it did but that could be a false memory.

    • @thenosweargamer1449
      @thenosweargamer1449  Рік тому

      You can randomize the rooms in IP. I did it during my livestream of the game after the 4 minute mark ua-cam.com/video/ZeOS1z1-ZMw/v-deo.html

    • @lurkerrekrul
      @lurkerrekrul Рік тому

      @@thenosweargamer1449 Thanks for the confirmation that reseting will randomize the rooms. I wonder if always starting with the same map is a result of the Evercade booting directly into the game, such that whatever "random" factor the C64 uses to generate the map is always exactly the same. I assume it's based on the C64's random number generation routine, which I think takes its seed from the timer, such that even a second's difference will result in a different number. I tried to replicate this with WinVICE, but I don't have an untouched G64 copy to test and my D64 has a cracking intro on it, which throws the timing off, even if I try to press the keys in advance.
