The three houses really are connected! Antoine Lie as the perfumer who sources ingredients from L’Ateliers des Matieres (run by husband of woman who runs Les Indemodables). They’re in the French Alps so I guess that’s why they keep mentioning it. I loved your reactions in this video-I’m blessed to live near a stockist that carries this line of perfumes and I really love smelling them when I stop in. I smelled Patchouli Noisette last time I was there and really picked up the nutty facets. I wonder if maybe your nose was overwhelmed? Great video!

It was so great seeing your first impressions of the Les Indémodables fragrances, Sam! I was so happy to see you started the video with Iris Perle. I think it is such a sublime perfume, and it was actually the first one Antoine made for the brand. Cuir de Chine is another favourite of mine. The first one I bought as a customer, actually! Thank you so much for including Sainte Cellier as a stockist! Really really appreciate that!

What timing! I just got my sample set a week ago. All of the fragrances are excellent, but my lord, Musc de Sable and Ambre Supreme-I was absolutely smitten

I second @phoolmaala9350 😄👍 Divide in 4 if you must, but a leather one would be DIVINE from you!! 🔥
(My favorite from LI is Escale en Indonesie … such a lovely refreshing real ambergris! Ambre Supreme is beautiful in the bottle/paper but goes pretty awesomely funky on my skin 😆 I still can’t keep it on longer than an hour. Escale en Indonesie is summer refreshing perfection 💛)

Great first impressions Sam! Definitely would love to see more of these from you. I really love Iris Perle and a Musc Des Sables. They’ve been tricky to get my hands on but Brooke is amazing and I can see I may be buying a few bottles from her this year! ❤

Completely loved our coffee table discussion. You are amazing and the descriptions make me want to try them all. It is often difficult to obtain certain brands in Brisbane (Australia) but if Cherie (Topnote) can get then there may be hope for me. Thank you again for your perfect descriptions. X

I want to second that! I'm here to learn and you are one of a tiny group of reviewers who treat feminine fragrances and actually know something! As you undoubtedly know, this hobby goes back to 18th century courts and has substantial intellectual content. Your videos present some of that content. Many thanks!

Just discovered your channel, liked and subscribed! :-) Great first impressions on that wonderful brand, thank you. Your descripons are so on point, wow! Antoine Lie is one of my favorite perfumers; I would really like to explore Eris, but right now my budget is maxed out. I am saving on a full-size-bottle of Ambre Supreme; such an amazing scent.

Excellent video Sam, I’m working my way through the discovery set I got from Brooke, already bought Vanille Havane as I love my vanilla/tobacco/booze frags (and it was a VH sample that turned me onto the brand). Considering Fougere Emeraude as a follow up, as I’m a 48 yo bloke who looks like a bouncer so I try to balance that out a bit. First tuberose frag I’ve ever liked! Agreed on Patchouli Noisette, I had such high hopes but it’s just ok..

Thanks Sam. What timing -- my discovery set from this brand arrives tomorrow! I ordered because of the quality of ingredients. A sample that recently impressed me was Hekate from American indie brand, Darren Alan Perfumes. I mention because it seems like your type of fragrance. Love these brand first impression videos. Have a great day!

With Patchouli Noisette, the brand made a new way to extract the hazelnut note. I don't think anybody really smells it as hazelnut, more of a creamy drydown. I've been waiting to try it, but everyone describes it as a "masculine," scent, so it's probably that greener, woodier patchouli. Which is not my favorite patchouli.

    • @nlmnx5763

This is a brand that I'm really interested in. I've only tried Vanille Havane, but I recently sold my bottle when I got a bottle of Van Py Rhum. They are both great but I like to keep a tight collection and I didn't need both. But I do respect the brand for the quality and transparency of ingredients. I definitely would like to check it out more

my first love is musc des sables ! i managed to get a full bottle it's so romantic i wish everybody could smell it once ! i loved it when i tested it but it's the next morning when i could still smell it on my wrist that i felt deeply in love! it smells like angel's skin . I also have vanille havane the first spray was offputting i could smell like old, overripe bananas but the dry down is magical !fougere emeraude is also amazing but i have to test the others properly !!they have cologne too , and one called "escale en indonésie" is a beautiful classic cologne from what i heard but i never had the chance to test it! thank youuu for that amazing review! did you love wearing musc des sables?? i'm curious ah ah

I would LOOOOOVE to see you do a video on the greatest hits in the leather category. I adore leather but I’m having a hard time finding one with the right balance. I really enjoy J’doube from Mind Games but the leather isn’t quite prominent enough there. It gets drowned out by the patchouli. Terenzi’s Spirito Fiorentino is nice but it’s a bit too sweet and I have to be in the mood for it.

When you were describing the leather fragrance, I thought of Élisire's Extrait Noir. At first spray, I got a black leather with the scent of motor oil. Something very addictive about it, especially as it dries down. Ambre Nomade, is my signature scent from Élisire; definitely a brand worth trying if you haven't.

The term “amber” confuses the hell out of me because people use it to describe so many things that smell nothing alike. Ambergris, amber accord which has a subdued vanilla, and ambroxan. I don’t even know which one is the real amber now.
