David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Rip. I grew up listening to Davids songs. He was the best and always will be.
He was a big part of my childhood.
Was the best in ZA WARUDO
Haha funny Dinosaur man
I'm growing up listening to him now, and yeah, it's a loss.
@@tonsopeanuts7073 shut up jojo fan
He has complained that young groups don't play long enough at their shows. Bowie sang three hours nonstop when I saw him in New Orleans, 2004. But we still wanted more!
is he still playing to this day?
@@STATFANs yes, he plays quite a heavenly venue nowadays!
My first concert was Queen's Day at the Races tour in 1977. Two, two and a half hours of pure greatness.
@@STATFANs sadly, no, he hasn't toured since 2004 or 2005 after a health scare, and then died of cancer in 2016
@@9988ScooterGirldo you remember what show was it? Or at least where was it? Maybe there is a recording of the show here on youtube!
I love this song
Only because it's about you xD
No way it's diego
I attended the serious moonlight show in Berlin. The best concert I've ever seen.
omg really????😭😭😭how was it???
Lucky you! I saw the Sound+Vision tour and it was great but I've always loved Serious Moonlight. What a show!
Rest In Peace David, you were one of a kind
This is Scary
Just like you are, you Monster xD
I would say: it is superb!
I really like how Carlos Alomar does his guitar solo and transitions into singing the closing chorus.
Carlos Alomar is AMAZING!
@@occommunitycats7616 He really is a major reason the albums and concerts are as good as they are.
@@dunnmax1 his intro for the Glass Spider concert.....EPIC!
On album guitars players is Robert Fripp & Carlos Alomar.
If there is such thing as an under rated Bowie song, this is it.
Just Brilliant every time, every iteration
RIP comment section when SBR comes out
It's already out
It's just fate, my friend.
Just gonna say this.
Here before 100 comments
Don’t worry we still have a good 3 years before that happens
@@illeatyochildren6673 think he means when it gets animated
David and Carlos, the dynamic duo.
When we heard this concert would be simulcast one evening, a bunch of us who dropped at least a $ grand on stereos all recorded the show and put together a super mix tape.
I just played the Serious Moonlight DVD for friends on the big screen last night!
This is such a fucking great version of this song. The Serious Moonlight tour was so awesome.
Diego brando the best characters of part 7 and with a cute stand, the name of this song. Go little cute dinosaurs
*Happy diosaur noises *
I preffer his alternate version 😐

Freakin... WOW! 40 years long...just finding it today ...speakers blown...mind gone.
When the interweb was born and we could buy pre-owned CD videos, I snagged the Serious Moonlight tour video. It is priceless to us.
love this song!!!
It was like he floated on stage for this tour. What an aura, what a band, what a song. Happy Halloween 40 years later
only Bowie could get Nehru to play lead guitar !
Seeing Yoshikage Kira singing about Diego Brando.
How can I put it nicely...
I got a B O N E R .
You expected Diego Brando, but it was I, Yoshikage Kira.
Wryyyyyy
Im not even gonna lie these comments genuinely piss me off beyond belief
@@thatchonkyfonky3327 really why?
Me a DC fan: Lucifer.
@@thatchonkyfonky3327 Lmao get rekt, JoJo's will always be legendary. If you got a problem with the musical references blowing up comment sections of song videos, do something about it... oh wait, you can't XD.
Oh well, stay mad as the rest of us groove to posing dinosaurs and hand fetish Japanese David Bowie XD deal with it.
Bowie is not my first music love- but he is up there with the best - I caught this tour at Milton Keyne- brilliant - love this song
I've heard quite a few different Bowie versions of Scary Monsters ( And Super Creeps )
Love NIN's cover too.
diego brando : USHAAAAA!
had this entire concert on vhs video in 1987-88 but i lost it...must have watched it 100 times, although the tour was in the summer 1983,two shows in his beloved Toronto, and we went both nights! Always you Dave!
J
Danny Elfman when he was the lead singer of Oingo Bongo was a big fan of this one of David Bowie’s songs!😃
I would love to see a 4k remaster of this one day
AFFASCINANTISSIMO...ISSIMO...ISSIMO...ISSIMO...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Still have the VHS of this fucking amazing 2nd glorious night in beautiful Toronto,Canada...met 'em twice seen him when you were all in diapers,or better yet your parents hadnt even met yet kids...but enjoy..he left us much to talk about...Gemma Inc.

A wise man once said, "USHAAAAA!"
and "rocks are good for digestion you know"
And "They're called gastroliths"
An interesting version. I prefer the original, but still find the charm in this interpretation. To this day he still reinvents his songs, just listen to his Live by Request version of Let's Dance.

oh to be alive in the 80s and see david live🥴🥴🥴
I saw this tour in munich.
I still dream of that day
David var et geni Wow love Bowie ❤️🙏🤘🤘🤘
Saw him in Vancouver on that tour. What a night, First it was The Tubes then Peter Gabriel.
OMGGGGGGG!!!
i LOVEd when he did this song with Trent Reznor
This should be the theme song for "To Catch a Predator" with Chris Hanson.
Carlos Alomar a total legend
You mean Robert Fripp
You guys! I love those strands. Hair and all, I think he's a very handsome -- and TALENTED -- gent. And I like "Tonight" and Never Let Me Down" a lot. So shoot me.
R.I.P diego brando
Carlos with that delicious riff at the beginning! I thought it was Earl!
it's strange to see Kira Yoshikage singing about Diego Brando while Diavalo plays the guitar
Cripes I still have this on VHs from the muchMusic bradcast from I think 1987 in Toronto television...the only city to show Dianond Dogs concert twice in one day in June 1974 just before we left high school for the summer...Now what other city had 2 Bowies Dogs shoes in one day people...NONE!
Toronto,Canada....yes people we live!
No its live in Toronto for sure...1983 and the Exhibition was on for 2 weeks...should see the ferris wheel and etc. in background at some point...there was the Sat.nite show n the Sunday nite show..we attended both...Yah Vavy!
which venue?
I was at the Milton Keynes Bowl gig,
I think it was 1983,
supporting acts included
Icehouse
The Beat
MISTERJOHN JOHN It's in Vancouver, Canada. I seen this in Murrayfield Edinburgh.
Saw it over 8 times from Europe to my hometown T.O. Cda....what a summer that was....compared to Diamond Dogs summer in '74...close on the Amazing Summer meter!

Carlos på gitaren and David er rått wow🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lead guitarist was Robett Fripp!!!
There might be an alternate universe, where Funny Valentine didn't bring AU Diego to deliver the corpse but Kira Yoshikage.
Well that would be inpossible because the corpse only exist in one dimension buuut that could be really awesome
@@sacris6214 Uh not really, obviously people from alternate universes can have Stands too (just like the alternate Hot Pants who Valentine got the other Cream Starter from).
@@mrreyes5004 I guess I didnt know much about JJBA in that time lol, but I guess he cant bring Kira into his universe since SBR happens in 1890 while DiU happens in 1999

Man I fucking love this song
this was a great tour

Hey man bought this album back in the day...at a record store with a guy working their from London....was in Chicago....dug it...not many people did back then
This actual video is from the Vancouver , BC, Canada show (Pacific Coliseum) taped 2 nights in a row Sept 11/12-1983
He also played BC PLACE August 9 a month before this. I was at all 3 shows.
The coolest motherfucker in music even at his most commercial.
*Happy diosaur noises*
Wryyyyy
this is great... really., an explosive moment. . .
i`ve made a version of who can i be now. . .
nice track but missing that acidic Fripp guitar sound
I love you
83ツアーは完璧だと思うな。
Como olvidar cuando kira hiso una cancion del stand de diego
@hendodabest that's awesome!
Let's just say that the hair works with everything from the dancer faces to poor always-flexible Mr Alomar's dumbing down of Robert Fripp's original guitar work for the song in creating a hilarious, foot-stomping Bowie parody.
It is a tragic solo compared to fripp
Everyone in the performance was solid except for him
Oq aconteceu com o Kira ??
Ele tá meio diferente
Ele n queria viver uma vida tranquila ??
Desde quando aql serial killer sabe cantar, e tão bem assim ???
The spotlight makes him look Godly...
Seems fitting...
Thank You Yury...I intone the same feelings exactly
! ! !
Not to speak ILL of the Dead.
Yet, MJ only wishes he had the Talent BOWIE, has in His Little Finger...SO TRUE ! ! !
......LONG LIVE BOWIE.....................
*hey look this song is about me!*
It's about Dr Ferdinand
That's just a Chat between Diego and his Dino personality?
I was hoping to see Bowie play sax and Robert Fripp on guitar.
@UTBESUX It's not a matter of putting a low quality clip on here. The actual dvd was of relativly poor quality. Twas the 80's after all.
Guys, when I listened to this song, hundreds of dead turned into dinosaurs, and there's a blue giant one with the word 'DIO' written in golden letters all over his sides, what do i do?
Pray
@hendodabest that's awesome :D
Why does it was posted 4 years but comments are about 10?
Really good trousers though...
what a night that was 2 nights in a row in beautiful Toronto,Canada...the very La Bowie sexy city in Canada...they always get 2 shows....Thanx for this memory,we wenr swimming all day ,both days then attended David's shows...Hmm

Anyone have a guitar tab for this?
Quite possibly, the advent of goth culture.
Anyone know who the guitarist is?
Walrus Pirate I don’t wanna get lynched but it looks like Carlos Alomar
I went here for Bowie and forgot Scary Monsters was in JoJo
Lmao same.
Haha you fell for IT fool sich!THUNDER CROSS SPLIT ATTACK!
I remember thinking that his hair was ridiculous even back in 1984 when I first saw this vid. What was he thinking? Excellent concert though.
Nearly 50 Yr old ffs that's impossible
@aphexvancouver I wish I'd seen this tour. I had to wait until the Glass Spider tour for my first Bowie experience! I think I've seen him 13 times since!
is the guitarist wearing a fotua
tira fuori il tuo mostro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kono kisamaa DIEGO BRANDO
@supersonicbird11 I didn't care so much for MJ's songs. He was a pretty good dancer though. Thats what'd always impresed me most about MJ,.. was his dancing more so than his music. Anyway, MJ was probably the more popular,.. in a mainstream sense for sure. Wana bet that they wont have Bowie displayes in Wallmart stores when he passes on ?
Micheal Jordan?
@@KaiserWilhelmIV i hope you are joking
Scary monster to Za warudo
i'm sure he does except this is carlos alomar..
We should just Use d4c to Take bowie out of a difderent universe Inside ours
with the exception of the horns, this sounds pretty much like the Scary Monsters version. Vocals are identical and even has guitars by Carlos Alomar.
and Earl Slick
Of Course but Im just talking about Bowie's general 80s output. Ashes to Ashes is possibly Bowie's greatest track but essentially represents the last gasp of his true greatness. Believe me im the biggest Bowie fan there is!
Sounds a little Beach Boys on the guitar.
