since i have no mac platform, this really help alot, thanks.
Glad to hear it
Hello thank you for your tutorials and vids, ESXi perform better than Proxmox for MacOS ?
They both run remarkably similar, but ESXi does have VMware tools for MacOS, so you get a little better video acceleration. I haven't spent alot of time with MacOS on ESXi, so I can't say for certain if there are any other issues. I haven't run into any yet though
Hi i12breto. Thanks a lot for this great video. Any hint on how to get a least a "decent sound" (I am not asking for perfection here) on this vm? I tried a lot of setup, plugged a USB audio, unsuccessfully so far. Thanks for your help.
I don't have any information as of now. I'll make a note to investigate and see what I can find
@@i12bretro Thanks a lot i12breto.
thanks very help full
You're welcome, thanks for the comment
the installation process does not start when I click on Install macOS Monterey nothing happens anyone know why?
What about IGPU Passthrough? You still cant figure out? Any update on this? I wanna try it On my Laptop...
Still no consistent results with it. I've only gotten usable output using the SystemRescue live CD, which is based on Arch linux. With the same exact settings nothing else will display (Windows, MacOS or other Linux distros). I re-test every Proxmox release hoping there's been some improvement, but nothing yet
after finishing running the unlocker script, my esxi failed to start the webUI. have to reinstall the esxi.
how you solved? i got same prob like you. pls advice. thanks.
possible GPU passthur, so the macos can get native GPU performance ?
There are hardware/PCI passthrough options in the ESXi web UI, but I've never personally tried it
Hi can use airdrop
I have this working. Is it normal to be sluggish loading windows and what not?
Yeah, there's minimal video acceleration for the animations. Works well enough to be usable, but not to replace your daily driver
Here it is 😘
👍 enjoy
How to fix qe/ci on virtualbox?
I don't know of any fix at this time
Hi @i12bretro would this work with proxmox?

@@i12bretro oh wow! So just to be clear the same esxi unlocker would work on proxmox (I can't use esxi coz I have incompatible hardware)?
No, the steps on Proxmox are slightly different. It doesn't use the ESXi unlocker, but you can easily get Monterey running on Proxmox
@@i12bretro I have searched and searched on UA-cam and I have not seen one proxmox tutorial to install MacOs, would you be considering making one?
I have 3. Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey. They are all on my Proxmox playlist

anyone find a remote desktop with good audio
GPU passthought for OSX?.
I cant find a youtube video showing it working with OSX in a virtual enviroment.
I've been trying to get GPU passthrough to work in ESXi, but the closest I've gotten is having it show in Windows Device Manager and installed the drivers successfully, but there's still no output to the GPU. So the VM can see the GPU, but isn't outputting to it. I'm still trying to figure out why that is. If I can figure it out how to get output I'll try the same on a Mac VM
@@i12bretroThat would be fantastic if it can be figured out.
@@i12bretro I can get OSX to work on Vmware workstation 17 on my laptop running fantastic but to get the accleration going would be the icing on the cake. I am even contemplating getting vmware sphere but if it wont work on that as well then there is no point.
Agreed. I'll respond if I make any further progress on it. From the form posts I've found it seems GPU passthrough with esxi is hit or miss and isn't the best implementation
