- On September 15, 2013, over 800 young actors and actresses gathered in New York City to audition for THE SOUND OF MUSIC Live! starring Carrie Underwood (NBC 12/5/13.)
Go behind the scenes with the Rodgers & Hammerstein office and meet some of the adorable kids that auditioned.
Lucky to see some smiling faces auditioning for a once in a lifetime chance. The real kids who were fortunate to make the cut served as really good back up for Carrie Underwood as Maria.
Its so awesome to see Evie Dolan from School of Rock the Musical! She was auditioning for this and didn't get it, but now she's in an OBC playing Katie, 8 nights a week on Broadway! It doesn't get better than that!
Kurt's high note is epic.
A little girl named grace got a part in this so happy for her !!!!!!!:)

Is every kid today gay?
Why? Because they like to sing and dance and act? I'm so tired of how girls can play sports and hunt and ride four-wheelers and do all of this "masculine" stuff and not necessarily be judged as a lesbian but because boys want to sing, dance and act they're automatically gay. I can bet you there's just as many gay guys playing football or wrestling in this country as there are in theater and chorus.
FierceONeill Come on! I'm not even talking about what they are doing. But every boy that appears in that video acts like the Diva Kid. They irradiate gayness from every cell. Video speaks for itself.
Maybe, maybe not. My theory is, if Joel Grey or Baz Luhrmann can be straight, anybody can be, lol. But you have to understand a lot of boys who are into theater and appearing in musicals DO act like this. That's how it's always been. I'm sure of those kids are gay, but not all. On the other hand though, I am somewhat glad you made this comment because it dispels the belief that being gay is a choice if, for some of these boys who are too young to even know their sexuality, you can already identify it even at such young of an age.
FierceONeill My gaydar is very powerful detecting even from very young age. I have a real concern about kids borning gayer then 20 years ago. It could be something related to the enviroment! :O Anyway... I think you are in denial.
♪ The hills are alliveeeeeee ♫ ♪ with the soundddddddddd of............ gay kids boning everywhere ♫!!!!
@@Syfercv omg what is ur problem. Is a child being gay a crime?? So what if they can sing or dance? Not all of those boys who went to audition were gay I can promise you that. A boy should be able to love theater and not be judged.
