For someone that's really into NFL or NBA, etc. You could show them any evidence you want, including the NFL directly saying so, and they probably still won't believe it.

Gotti heard that Sammy had lied to him about getting permission to kill several people, including a Capo, after which Sammy took over all their rackets and businesses. Gotti was complaining about it to his then underboss in his secret meeting place, which he didn't know was bugged. He said something like "He's loyal but why's he so greedy?" and "Am I supposed to wack him now?" The FBI played this tape at their bail hearing as both a reason to deny bail, and to throw a wedge between Sammy and Gotti, and convince Sammy, who was already faltering on doing life in prison, that if he and Gotti were out, he would be killed.
Sammy originally claimed he flipped because he was gonna be killed. Then he claimed that he flipped because Gotti was trash talking him and didn't apologize. Then he claimed in his book that he flipped because he worried Gotti's lawyer might try to paint him as "the real villain that Gotti couldn't control"
Then he went to prison for 20 years. As soon as he got out, he's been doing interviews and shows and saying that Gotti straight up told him "Youse needs to take the fall for this one."
But it's not even possible. Gotti and Sammy were co-defendants in a Rico trial designed to convict the boss and his administration. Even after Sammy flipped, Gotti's lawyer never used this defense. They never tried to put any blame on Sammy. It just didn't happen.

Gotti got beat up by a black guy in jail and went to the Aryan brotherhood for protection and he paid them more than $25k for a hit on the guy that beat him and they never killed the guy and kept his money this is all documented. @@duckydarkstar38 He was punched in the face by a guy named Walter Johnson for uttering a racial slur(which was probably just casual wiseguy lingo). Gotti offered the AB an unknown amount to have the guy killed. They tried to carry it out, but the guy, or one of the guys chosen to do it flipped, and Johnson was immediately transferred to a different prison. You make that story sound so different from what actually happened, or what you can read on Wikipedia.
Gotti had spent years in prison before. He did 3 years for hijacking in 1968-1972 and 4 years for attempted manslaughter from 1974-1978. This wasn't his first rodeo. He seems to have done his time like anyone else. He was in a supermax where you're alone 23 hours a day. He never gave anyone up for any favors, a lighter sentence/lighter conditions, even when he found out what was causing his cancer. He just continued running his family as much as feasible like all the other imprisoned bosses.

He was on tape talking to Gotti about his title, the other families, making new members, etc. He was even asked in court what some of the talks were about.
