Working on my commercial/ CFI ratings, and spent some time myself on the roofdeck of the Western U in ‘97 watching these birds. Thanks for sharing. DC-6, DC-8, DC-10, 747-400, and now 767.
1:26 My country’s old airline! I miss you BWIA! You will be missed. 🇹🇹 At least we now have Caribbean Airlines. Great video showing past airlines! Love it. 49:00 This is my favourite aircraft.
Thank you for pointing out that the sound is from the default 747. A lot of people how stream and review addon aircraft don't mention the sound or talk excessively over it to where you can't get a good listen. Your review and criticism of the aircraft is perfect. Thanks for the honest review...... And also not trying to fly to plane from unrealistic locations.
12:38 this 747-200 D-ABYP retired in2002, and the registration number has been reuse on a 747-8i later in 2014,this 747-8i is the 1500th 747 that Boeing built, but sadly she is the aircraft that hard landing in LAX too
When we say 1997 it means the majority of the video is filmed in 1997 but we took months to film so there may be some footage from 1998.... I do not believe this is a big issue, enjoy the video!
In 97 I was 22, around that time I flew to Thailand on a 747, to Austin on a 747 (NWA and Kzz as KLM) and a few local flights around Europe on A320’s, first flight was to Milan on a Sabina A320 from Edinburgh in 93. Edit 747 was just like the one at 20:30 with the clock on the side, return was Bangkok-Malpensa. Was delayed so ended up in a hotel instead of getting the connecting flight.
What are you talking about, AA retired their 727's in 2002. I think this was filmed after 1997 since Air Guadeloupe didn't have their 737-200 in 1997, they got it in 1998.
I'm 60 years old, here in November 2024. There has to be some way that we can elect officials who will end the corruption and greed in the airline industry and bring it back to it's former glory. Too many people at the top, wanted the glamour and prestige of being in the business but they failed to see the love and dedication that many airlines and their passengers had for each other. There was a family like atmosphere that is sorely missed. We need more CEO's like Elon Musk, who own companies because they LOVE and aprpreciate what they represent. Frank Lorenzo, Carl Icahn, Edward Acker and Robert Crandall have a special place in hell, 🔥👹. for how they destroyed this beautiful industry. And you too Jimmy Carter, for signing the Airline Deregulation Act; which started the chaos.😣😞

Great piece of researching! Quite eerie in some respect to read of the fate of many of these aircraft in the video.
Wow thank you for this, that’s some dedication on grabbing all that info on your end

Wow, that brought back some memories from a time when not all Aircraft looked the same but had real character and attitude.
Back when planes looked distinct....the gorgeous 727, the adorable DC-9, the majestic DC-8....everything looks practically the same today.
But sadly faded away 😔
Working on my commercial/ CFI ratings, and spent some time myself on the roofdeck of the Western U in ‘97 watching these birds. Thanks for sharing. DC-6, DC-8, DC-10, 747-400, and now 767.
1:26 My country’s old airline! I miss you BWIA! You will be missed. 🇹🇹 At least we now have Caribbean Airlines. Great video showing past airlines! Love it. 49:00 This is my favourite aircraft.
Atr 72 is quite a good plane
@ Yes it is indeed!
It's videos like these that make me appreciate many of the old liveries more!
some amazing views, especially close to the runway on many of these takeoff rolls, fantastic content
Great video!!!
Outstanding.
No wonder I fell in love with aviation during these days. Amazing. So many airlines that cease to exist anymore.
I am glad I had the chance to see the old American Airlines livery when I was little, they were so cool and unique

It's nice to see the UA widebody plus the Delta 767.

The Dash 8 at 6:39 is still active as of November 2024! Awesome!!!
Magnífico vídeo vintage.....
35:42 Maan, this livery was beautiful. I don't know why AA got rid of it.
I think part of the reason is a lot more composite materials used, so they couldn't have the bare metal anymore
@@joeg5414they could’ve swapped the metal to white

Iberia and Aviaco DC 9 in Miami? What's that all about?
