Welcome back to the woods everyone and in this video I will be doing a simple relaxing overnighter in the Dutch army canvas mitary tent along with a few other bits of Military surplus gear like the Polish army swag bag bedroll .

Dutch army tent looks similar to the French one both great tents by the looks of them... Agreed military gear is bomb proof, lasts forever but bloody heavy! No good for hikes just short journeys into the woods.. Great vid mate thanks and take care

Nice camp, if you sleep in low temp conditions don't go to bed with all you clothes on, you can then put some on if you need to, also pack a hot water bottle., sleeping bag liners also help loads. keep your core warm and your feet the rest will look after itself :)

I don't hike I bike, - (well i do hike a bit now and then). I do get away with a bit more weight but nor much, I add the grams on shelter, food and sleeping system; clothes? I wash what i wear and take a bit with for cold weather or getting soaked. I do like the tent though. I think I might treat myself to one of them. (Arctic bag is on the list). I'm glad i got that trailer. I can do 3 kinds of stove, 2 tents, an FO big tarp ( 5 x 4 Metres in DPM) 2 hammocks, bed rolls, alsorts but i will be gone for a few days to a month sometimes, retirement is near so 3 month + tours on the plans. good channel honest stuff, love and no massive gear reviews, quality.
Thank you 👍. I try to go as light as possible but with military surplus gear its pretty hard to keep the weight down haha . The British arctic bag wasn't nicknamed the bouncing bomb for nothing haha but they are great bags and its never let me down so worth its weight in gold 👍

I'd give the SOL escape bivvy a go if you're getting a bit cold. Adds a few degrees to the bag man.
Failing that a foil blanket is a cheap and light alternative.
Thanks 👍 for some reason the bag nearly always let's me down , its the jura 2 made by DD , to be honest I don't know why I keep using it 🤔 but I think a bivvy bag like you was saying may be an option when using this bag .

Thank you 👌 as they say practice makes perfect 👍 it is a running stream but only just at the minute haha but the filter takes care of any dirt and the water comes out crystal clear and clean 👌
