Hugs. Every woman has experienced a miscarriage. We usually don't talk about it because it's devastating. The doctor usually tells you to go home and pass the fetus in the toilet. This woman should sue her state for damages.
This is what bans do it makes being pregnant less safe. Even though abortion is legal up to 22 weeks in OHIO, the political interference has created a climate of fear and second guessing. My question is where was her obstetrician and why wasn't her doctor advocating for her? It's seems like she didn't have a prenatal care provider based on her testimony in this interview. It's not a crime or negligence not to have one, but it's a point for other women to be sure you have them on speed dial when you have an emergency. We support you Brittany and wish you well.
They turned away my brother baby mama. She was miscarrying. They didn't help due to insurance, I think. And when they treated her, they really didn't. They discharged her while she was actively miscarrying. She was bleeding gush stuff on the bench IN FRONT OF THE HOSPITAL. Awful
Not all abortions are justified, but abortion must be legal for the sake of preventing this bewildering injustice, right here. Because pregnancy issues occur on a continuum and are not black and white at all, a decision to abort a fetus absolutely must be made apart from the state or, most obviously, free of the interference of politicians. For God's sake, how can this have happened? In a modern first world democracy?
Any woman who makes it their choice for an abortion has their reasons for doing so. If you don’t know the details you can not say an abortion is not justified. If a woman gets an abortion by her own choice it should be respected. All abortion is justified when it’s the woman’s choice. There is a reason for it and that reason is none of our business, it’s not even the fathers business because he isn’t putting his health or life on the line. No woman is out here getting an abortion “just because” or for funsies. That’s just propaganda to try to justify the bans.
@itzTeTe I don't completely agree with you, but I agree with you in spirit. There are abortions that come from dark place-- I'm going to be blunt here. There are abortions that come from utter callousness and desensitization, and the barren soul. But I'm not responsible for those, and I, as a male, am responsible for creating a rational and just society, in whatever ways I can help to bring those things. In the interest of being that, I've always said that the determinant, the final point we must arrive at and that settles the matter, is that abortion can often be a medically essential procedure, a matter of life and death for the mother, and that, since there are many shades of gray around pregnancy and just how it comes out, and many crucial factors around parenthood in these less-than-optimal pregnancies, to criminalize abortion is an imbecilic act. It's the height of infantile black and white thinking. It's also brutal misogyny, and a good example of overreach in state power, and theocratic in spirit, and medically stupid often enough. Not to mention that, at least early in pregnancy, the woman is most definitely the owner of what happens within her own body, and obviously has an intrinsic right to choose what her body will or will not do (I mean here primarily before the fetus has any consciousness, which is when the ethics change, at least to me). Thank you for your comment, and be well.
I cannot imagine the pain this woman experienced. not on the physical but emotional. Then to have the state criminally exile you? these states like ohio, are not of the union, they are still the confederacy, which means we the union failed. I think its time we finish what we started.
This is what Republican "leadership" delivers. The dems aren't saints but it's easy for them to be seen as better when compared to this sorry mess of a party.
Totally. I can't stand the dems with a passion (the repubs suck as well) but reasonable people are not going to support this. I mean come on, miscarriages happen for so many reasons. This is insane.

GOD IS FAITHFUL 🙏🏾🙌🏾 I’m so sorry she had to go through this. As a High Risk OB nurse they failed this black woman. If they deemed the pregnancy non viable they should have taken the necessary steps to prepare her for a D&E
What a disgrace. I'm glad the grand jury had sense enough to not pursue this but if I were her, I would publicly name those involved in this (specifically the nurse) and then sue. Sue the hospital, sue the nurse and sue the DA. While I am reluctant to believe that everything is race related, in this instance I completely agree that it was in fact race related. This disgrace of a nurse went out of her way to mischaracterize the situation and call the cops. She needs to be fired immediately and if I’m sitting on a jury, I’m awarding the plaintiff damages.
Medical advice?! After 8 hr delay?!! She needs to sue the hospital bc they neglected her, she was referred by a doctor who diagnosed her miscarriage!!! that is medical negligence and gaslightingl!!!
What people don't understand that is that if wasn't the nurse, it would've been a plumber making the call. The fetus was stuck in the pipes and had to extricated because it was so large. Once the pipes started getting backed up, the plumber would've found an almost fully wrong fetus covered in feces and would've called 911 right then and the same thing would've happened.
Why did she keep leaving the hospital against medical advice? What was so pressing that making sure she didn't bleed to death couldn't take priority? It sounds like when she found out the pregnancy was no longer viable, she wanted the baby out of her body immediately . That's completely understandable. Unfortunately, the fetus still had a heartbeat, so the hospital couldn't induce her because that would be considered an abortion. This lady was mistreated because of these crazy abortion laws. These laws take perfectly sensible medical options off the table for women who really need them. No one likes abortion but but in this case, it should have been an option offered to this woman.
You want to vote Republican this is what will happen. It’s sad and I see the dr side as well they fearing going to jail as well. Republican need to be voted out.
Unpopular opinion- some lawyers are complicit to this legislation, because these absurd laws would mean more chances of lawsuits = more income from these cases.
Why did she leave against medical advice? Not once but twice. She couldn't stay in the hospital and wait it out. I had to stay for two weeks. She could have miscarried in the hospital instead of at home.
The medical system is completely broken in the US! This is outrageous & disgusting that she was treated this way after attempting to seek medical treatment at a hospital! All hospitals, doctors, nurses, primary care, physicians, etc. etc. etc. only care about themselves, and that they are not liable!!! This goes for everything, across-the-board, and is not limited to this exact scenario!!!! I have multiple sclerosis, and have been in excruciating pain for seven years straight, and every time I have attempted to get my pain managed (which is the humane thing to do, as well as what we have always done in this country), I am now met with being called a “drug seeker”, & a “drug addict”, just because I say I am in pain, and despite the fact that I have no history of drug abuse or addiction!!!!!!! This is all medical malpractice by definition, and these people need to be held accountable for their actions!!!!!! All people who work in the medical industry/field need to understand that they cannot treat people this way, under any circumstances!!!!!! I hope that she and her lawyers have at least filed complaints against every doctor, as well as nurse, and the hospital itself!!!!!!! a lot of people don’t understand that they actually have medical boards and every state who control these “medical professionals” licenses, and that you can make complaints against them that will be on record for life!!!!!!!!! I hope she sues for medical malpractice!!!!!!!!! Advocating for women is great, but she needs justice for herself!!!!!!!!! Edit: I just want to add that all women, but especially women of color are more likely to be medically gaslit than any other people on the planet!!!!!!!!!! This is abuse and needs to STOP NOW!
I want that nurses name… One of many names I would want.. But her 1st. There is something very particular about that level of betrayal.. Not only as a medical professional.. But as a woman.. It’s another level entirely.

It is horrible that she lost her child. I wished this would never happen to any woman. Sorry woke people I don’t know the right pronoun for this other than women.
I’m against abortion, the majority of circumstances is because the woman was irresponsible and found herself in a situation she didn’t want to be in, very few pregnancies r resulted from rape or incest… that being said, abortion shouldn’t be the terminology when it comes to miscarriage or a life or death pregnancy (if I’m understanding correctly)… how who why made it so all these circumstances fall under the same category.. was it to stand a better chance at “protecting women’s rights to their body “ when calling for the vote? That’s the only thing I can see to why it’s categorized the same… common sense clearly tells miscarriages are far different than abortion.. it’s insane to even think this woman or any woman could be charged during one of the most traumatic experiences of their lives especially after all the years of hearing “it’s not ur fault, it’s nothing u did” … if I’m under the right understanding, I apologize for the rambling, but it’s just so insane … politics making stuff harder than it needs to be

Sad no one at the hospital adequately helped her and she was was in the dark for so long
How heartbreaking
💔 she needs to be compensated for all of the BS she has been through
How horrible. This really ticks me off. She was already suffering a great loss and for the medical staff to treat her like this, like a criminal?! The nurse that lied should be prosecuted for her false accusations in my opinion!
Thanks for the *two* upvotes lol. I hope I get more because you know I'm right! No hate on me please.
She hasn’t even been allowed to grieve the loss of a child. I’ve seen dogs treated better in this country. What a complete and disgusting disgrace. I’m so ashamed for America. God bless and comfort her.
Mercy health placed her life at risk!!! Sick
seems child had more rights than her life
The nurse needs to be exposed and have her credentials taken away.
Nurse should have had lost her license, what happened to HIPPA laws and privacy????!!!!
@user-wh5ir4fo4rthat’s a contradiction if I’ve ever heard one… HIPPA is suppose to protect the privacy of patients but then this abortion law says to report on said medical state that is suppose to be private because male law makers who are not doctors decided that women who are pregnant and miscarry have committed a crime…
…….. this is so backwards…
@@itzTeTeI think you are not understanding. HIPPA only is meant to call protect your medical history from being discussed with private persons, not the police. This is not new or tied to abortion, it's been the law probably from the time they started regulating hospitals.
This is so important to hear
Whaaaaaaaat 😮 that is ridiculous yea they were playing with this womans health and life were is the recording for that call? And i wasnt going to play the race card but we are in 2024 it is about that💯
This poor woman. We are horribly cruel country
This is horrible that she needed to go through all this trauma on top of an already bad situation.
The is horrible! and sad.😡😢
jesus that poor woman. This shouldnt be a crime period
That white nurse needs to be arrested for making a false report.
Nothing will happen to this nurse. SHE will be protected.
How do you know the nurse was white? It shouldn’t matter anyway though
You had to specify her race had you 😂
Hugs. Every woman has experienced a miscarriage. We usually don't talk about it because it's devastating. The doctor usually tells you to go home and pass the fetus in the toilet. This woman should sue her state for damages.
I have never experienced a miscarriage. My heart goes out to this Queen. Nurse is a d.........
Ok it's not always devastating. I'm grateful I had one and didn't need to seek abortion. I didn't even know I was miscarrying til it was over lol
Now this case! For this woman! THATS DEVASTATING! Unbelievable how this happened to her. Not her fault, they're charging the wrong person here.
It is imperative that maga is kept out of power this November and women's rights are preserved.
OMG.is this 2024 or 1924?
They turned away my brother baby mama. She was miscarrying. They didn't help due to insurance, I think. And when they treated her, they really didn't. They discharged her while she was actively miscarrying. She was bleeding gush stuff on the bench IN FRONT OF THE HOSPITAL. Awful
Im so sorry
That nurse breached ethical duty and must be fired. The risk management team must be fired.
I am happy and proud of you, Ms. Brittany, for standing up for yourself!! I am God worked it out!! ❤❤
ameen
An Evangelist Deacon Republican. Been doing some reading up on him. The shady things he has been caught doing he is the one that should serve time in prison😡
Both sides are troubled. Why we don't get anywhere ya know
GOD IS FAITHFUL 🙏🏾🙌🏾 I’m so sorry she had to go through this. As a High Risk OB nurse they failed this black woman. If they deemed the pregnancy non viable they should have taken the necessary steps to prepare her for a D&E
What a horrible thing for this woman to go through and prayers for her.
If this happened to her imagine all the women who never got heard and possibly in prison rn for same situation . So sad
Poor girl
God bless her!
Medical advice?! After 8 hr delay?!! She needs to sue the hospital bc they neglected her, she was referred by a doctor who diagnosed her miscarriage!!! that is medical negligence and gaslightingl!!!
People are evil
Disgraceful, bigoted neglect! Thank God for looking out after this young woman!
So she had left despite medical advice. This is the unfortunate hospital protocol to proceed to where she would be charged with a felony.
It was great to see a Brother, supporting and 100% backing up his own. That's where our peoe need to be.
I am Brittany Watts.
Wow. Theyre cjerging the victim and not the perpetrator (the hospital).
Where did you read this
Sick what they did to this woman. America is sick
Um...what did she do with the baby? Why is the most important part of this story missing?
We need to do better in America. Laws base on science & logic only
Those 'police' are self-motivated, law and reason have nothing to do with such hurried and wrong actions.
She should sue the hospital
Why did she leave against medical advice? Not once but twice. She couldn't stay in the hospital and wait it out. I had to stay for two weeks. She could have miscarried in the hospital instead of at home.
poor poor lady:(
The medical system is completely broken in the US!
I want that nurses name…
One of many names I would want..
But her 1st.
There is something very particular about that level of betrayal..
Not only as a medical professional..
But as a woman..
It’s another level entirely.
Hope She is Enjoying that Christian Love. 😊
Do people know that 50% of miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities? 20% of stillbirths are caused by genetic chromosomal abnormalities. And post 20 weeks that’s close to stillbirth. This poor woman was going through hell. I’ve gone through stillbirths and multiple miscarriages due to genetic abnormalities and I landed up in on a 72 hour psych hold after the second stillbirth after attempting to unalive myself . This so upsets me. How dare they!
They took her toilet? FFS!
What did they want a lump of blood clots
Authoritarian vibes
Medieval
It is horrible that she lost her child. I wished this would never happen to any woman. Sorry woke people I don’t know the right pronoun for this other than women.
That nurse is evil.
Women stick together. We are stronger than men. Let's show them... again!!
😢🙏🫶
This story is meant to manipulate the truth and withhold certain facts
The caption is ridiculous
I’m against abortion, the majority of circumstances is because the woman was irresponsible and found herself in a situation she didn’t want to be in, very few pregnancies r resulted from rape or incest… that being said, abortion shouldn’t be the terminology when it comes to miscarriage or a life or death pregnancy (if I’m understanding correctly)… how who why made it so all these circumstances fall under the same category.. was it to stand a better chance at “protecting women’s rights to their body “ when calling for the vote? That’s the only thing I can see to why it’s categorized the same… common sense clearly tells miscarriages are far different than abortion.. it’s insane to even think this woman or any woman could be charged during one of the most traumatic experiences of their lives especially after all the years of hearing “it’s not ur fault, it’s nothing u did” … if I’m under the right understanding, I apologize for the rambling, but it’s just so insane … politics making stuff harder than it needs to be
There are thousands of rape pregnancies
The cruelty is the whole point.
Its what Jesus wants apparently.
Christianity is a horrid immoral philosophy.
She lying 🤥
About what?
let's talk about women putting their kids in the river to illegally cross our border... who get care and concern and free everything.
she lost me at... "its because im black" smh
Unfortunately, I doubt the outcome would be the same if she was white. I bet if she was, she could've just gone back home without being arrested later.
Yeah because America doesn't have a past amd still is currently racist 🙄
Awe racist triggered
If you’re scared why leave ?
They weren't doing anything. Who wants to lounge around in a hospital for nothing?
@@santorasampson3430 if my child is on the line then I’d stay . Do you not love your children enough to spend a night let alone days to make sure your child’s safe?
@@AngelsTravelz If I had a child who's viable enough to live, I would. I felt she already knew it was pointless to stay in the hospital. She came back home and had the same event she would've had if she stayed.
Unfortunately, that baby wasn't destined to live with us. She could've stayed in the most advanced hospital in the world and still have the same result.
@@santorasampson3430 I’d still wait to find out what the next step is instead of leaving a hospital where my children are involved. No one said it was ok to leave and she isn’t a doctor to make her own decision. Pregnancies are serious . If doing the right thing means I stay a day in the hospital not knowing what’s going on then that’s what the responsible thing is I’ll do
Next time use birth control !
I don't blame her but I don't know it's a little weird to flush an almost fully grown fetus down the toilet and have it get stuck in the pipes of your house where you flush feces. I think because she left the doctors twice she thought she would get in trouble for it.
She should’ve stayed at the hospital or go to another one.
So she can just bleed out on the floor while doctors refuse to help her? Better to die in your own home.
@@joebidenisyourpresidentget2481 I gave 2 options. Better for her to have stayed so hospital can be liable; or like I said she could have gone to another medical facility.
@@Adrienne-wv7qo Or the politicians who created this situation should've left healthcare to the healthcare professionals.
@@Adrienne-wv7qothis is dumb. She was not wrong. If someone is buckled over and leaking fluids, you don't leave them in a hospital waiting room. It's an emergency situation.
The hospital is the ones who did something wrong. Not this woman.
Yeah .. who want to bet this story is all B.S.
Yup the 911 call is fake. The hospital records are fake. The lawyer is fake. Now let me sell you a nonexistent bridge.
You could actually look up the case instead of betting.
BRITTANY BEAUTIFUL SISTER ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE WITH YOU.
This FATE of Women in Every State an worse if GOP get what they Want. Yet there is a Exception. This will never happen to Rich Women
