I only found dr Robert Lustig when it was a little too late. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in August 2023. Mainly because of soft drink abuse and a 12 years history of chronic anxiety and depression. But, ever since I started following him, I have been successfully managing my T2DM. I would say this man is one of the blessing of God for our generation, I hope he lives a long and healthy life and convey his message to every individual on the planet so people can lead a better life. @@DuncanFer1 You will not need doctors. If your body have to repair, you must give him enough protein for doing this. On other side stop eating whatever is causing inflammation and oxidative stress. For 70 kilograms of your lean weight (weight without fat), you must eat at least 122 grams of protein every single day. Better is to eat 2 grams multiplied by your lean weight, so 140 grams of proteins every day. Than you will loose weight, your body will have enough protein for repairs. People today dont know how much proteins are eating. Processed food is very low in proteins and lot of sugar or sacharides. Body need exact zero grams of exogenous sacharides from food, we have gluconeogenesis in liver (endogenous glucose production), this process make enough glucose for your body / brain all day long.

Most of human behaviour is simply habit. An easier way to deal with food is to ask, 'why am I eating this' and it is mostly due to desire which then leads to habit. After 'finding' a talk by Dr Robert Lustig a few years ago I eliminated any sugar, other than fruit, from my diet.

1:01: 🔑 The scale lies about weight because there are three separate fat depots that contribute differentially to health.
3:38: 🔑 Visceral fat in patients with clinical depression can lead to weight loss, but also an increase in cortisol and liver fat.
6:41: 🩺 The speaker discusses the importance of getting various blood tests and highlights the misconception that certain ethnicities can eat whatever they want without gaining weight.
9:46: 🧠 Sugar consumption can lead to changes in behavior and brain function, including irritability, violence, cognition problems, and dementia.
12:39: 🔑 The most important thing is to solve the cause of a problem, not just the result.

The increased stress/cortisol in very depressed patients causes visceral fat .The clinical depression causes appetite loss and loss of fat around the body (subcutaneous fat.). Therefore , they lose general body fat and are visually thinner looking, but weigh more because of the increased amount of fat around their viscera/organs ,(verifiable with an mri scan). This is how Doctors realised that stress alone can cause visceral fat .

"To solve a problem," you also need to measure the problem. Wonder why direct measurement of visceral fat, say via a Dexa scan, was not discussed. Once you know how much visceral fat one has, progress and protocol efficacy can then be determined. I had my first Dexa scan in June, 2023 and it was an eye opener. Thank you for this interview.

It’s roughly the same as a Dexa Scan, but I was told the Dexa Scan is more accurate. I was able to get a reading on how much visceral fat I had inside around my organs.

If the medical schools and the entire medical system would have trained MDs just like scientists who work hard to earn their PhD then everything would have turned out alot better and medical services would end up to be a lot better. PhDs in physics for example or any line of the sciences are thinkers, people who look for solutions and are always Looking for ways to improve situations and solve problems. And MDs?. Introduction:
    - The speaker discusses the issue of people thinking they are healthy just because they appear thin, when they could have metabolic issues on the inside.
    Fat Depots in the Body:
    - There are three types of fat deposits - subcutaneous, visceral, and liver fat.
    - Subcutaneous fat is the fat under the skin that people can see. It takes around 22 pounds of gain before it causes health problems.
    - Visceral fat around the internal organs like the belly is actually caused by stress and cortisol levels. Only 5-6 pounds is needed in the belly before the liver is affected.
    - Liver fat is the most problematic, as just half a pound can lead to metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance.
    Hidden Metabolic Issues:
    - Many thin-appearing people unknowingly have fatty liver from sugar or alcohol consumption. Their liver is affected without it showing on their weight or appearance.
    - 88% of Americans have some degree of metabolic dysfunction according to statistics, showing how common underlying issues are.
    Fatty Liver in Children:
    - 20% of children now have liver fat unrelated to obesity, likely from sugar intake of juices, sodas, and processed foods.
    - Sugar consumption can impact brain development and behavior in children through neurotransmitter changes like glutamate and GABA levels.
    Advice for Parents:
    - Parents should avoid sugary drinks, juices, and highly processed foods for kids' lunches to prevent fatty liver development at a young age.

You are burning sugar. Your body needs to learn how to burn fat. Dr. Mindy Pelz thinks you should be able to switch back and forth.. Carnivores/keto advise switching to fat burning primarily. By eliminating most carbs you should be able to switch fat burning fairly quickly. This is a summary-there’s more to it, but that’s what would liberate you from needing sugar for energy. Depending on your size, you might try to make sure you get 25-30 grams of complete protein with each meal (of 3). Then fill up on non-sweet, non-starchy veg. There is a way out if you want it.

I must admit the lifestyle I adopted about 20 years ago that being the 'Hay diet' which implies you eat carbs separately from protein meals has helped enormously. It is better on the stomach and it reduces the desire for sweet foods over all. I have also been vegetarian for 30 years and my weight is normal especially for my age as most women in the UK put weight on in middle age and I get so many compliments about my slim figure. I definately recommend people to cut back on the carbs.

It’s a lot better but can still cause your pancreas to excrete insulin as it expects sugar when the taste buds get the sweetness.
If you need to get off sugar it’s the way forward.

This information is not for our doctors, who are in bed with America’s pharmaceutical industry.
This information is for US and global citizens to bring to their doctors attention after implementing the suggested changes.
    As of 12/11/2023 here’s mine.
Doctor help, or MD SOS: the caveat, don’t put your health or need for help in your doctor’s hands.
I’ve cut out meat and diary (MD) from my diet.
I am consciously and daily removing sugar, oil and salt (SOS) from my diet.
My next annual physical is due 3/30/2024.
I won’t tell my doctor about my lifestyle changes, until then.
I am eager to see what my next annual physical, and blood work will reveal.

Packaged Food should have a warning label about Added Sugar .A particular politician "deep sixed" such a proposed warning label (he blocked this proposal). That politician is now asking to be re- elected .His name rhymes with the word "lump".

"Packaged Food" = oxymoron. How did our ancestors ever survive without "warning label"s? Just take responsibility for your own health and stop believing that any politicians are looking out for you.
