4 out of 10 of my placements were lost because my tanks left mid game due to frustration. I’m a support main, but due to the healing deduction I am healbotting significantly more than I care to. I’m happy that dps players seem to be having fun, but once again the game just feels all over the place.
What DPS players are having fun? No decent dps players are enjoying this patch. increased bullet sizes make it impossible for widow to miss and removed skill expression from this game. Pharah and Kunkrat are giga trash too.
@@suzuya0 Im having fun:) If they have widow i just switch to sombra nad its end for her... And junk is sooo good man... Dont know what game you play:) You just need to pick deoending on map and comps.
@@suzuya0 maybe that holds true for you. I was speaking in regards to the players I personally asked in my games yesterday. also keep in mind that I am in lower diamond, so my skill level and the people in my games have a vastly lower skill difference than ML7 and other high ranked players.
but again, it seems that causal dps players who are playing ranked seem to be having fun.

Bruh - playing support was wild on quickly play yesterday. I guess everyone was testing out the new changes but, there was absolutely zero cohesion.
It felt like playing Overwatch 1 all over again when it first released, everyone was so scattered out.
Placed Diamond 2 (haven’t placed in season 9), but man…. I’m gonna hold a bit before doing placements lol.
Yes, I did only do placements on an alt acc to see how it was. Didn't notice too much difference actually, just more HP, and dps passive was mostly annoying if they focused 1 target (tank). Oh I main support.
Bro, exact same happened to me. At first I was so confused that people were all over the place, I was unsure if that is what super low elos looks like or just people testing stuff, but it was quite the experience.
rank with ease, your placement is still bounded to mmr. I was Diamond 2 last season, place 8 wins 2 losses and place me Diamond 4, so the 10 wins would have left me right to where I was last season
Like it or not, the energy i'm getting from content creators playing OW2 is feeling great. People seem hyped to play again.
I don’t know I thinks it’s probably cos there’s a proper rework now plus there’s actually something for them to chase now with the champion rank. I say give it 3-4 weeks it will die down.
Its trash, worse than last season you heard it from me first. It's the exact same ranked system with a new coat of paint on it and terrible balance changes overall

"rank reset" but you play in your regular rank to place
I dont like the blanket nerf to all healing. It's unfair to supports that had no burst heals before, and affects all self-heals even though some are more fair than others. Like brig/lucio's self sustain with their basic aura doesn't deserve a nerf as much as bap or kiri's self heal.
Some low-heal support duos were viable before, but now it doesn't feel good because squishies take more damage from hitbox changes and everyone receives less healing from any source. I liked combos like brig/zen because everyone had to play smart but now it doesn't feel possible because inspire+packs just aren't enough.
I start to see lots of brig zen popping up tho
@@hillwoop9101 Brig Zen is a really solid combo because of the peels and good damage with decent sustain. I can see why its even more common considering Brig and Zen can do big damage and heal simultaneously. The comp I don’t want to talk about is Zen Ana though, their like a demonic duo that ensures that the tank will never get to play the game without being deleted.

look at paladins they also have thing called "Cauterize" that reduce healing received when u hit an enemy, but this thing applied to all heroes. Also, cauterize effect is up to 90% in paladins.
in Paladins also have that heals you when out of combat, and this thing already in paladins like few months / years, I think blizzard is copying paladins at this point.
Expect a climb they said lol. The reset was softer than it was on day 1 of OW2
mine was rough as hell, although I did have my internet crash on one and that probably contributed

I havent played a game yet, but just by watching ml7 I already know playing tank is going to be SO annoying with that new healing debuff, especially keeping the tank alive in a fight as a support lol. Gonna have to pocket tanks like a mauga now
Honestly, I've just been playing zen and going with the strat of killing the tank before the other team kills ours. If damage is the name of the game, then I'd just lean in to it, for how cold that may seem to some tanks that need a pocket, such as Mauga or Rein.

tank placements made no sense to me. after one game i was predicted gold 2. this was way lower than my rank last season. then after going 8-2 on placements i still got gold 2 and there was a lot of games where we rolled. so confused
isn't that the point? if you rolled it means whoever you were against was a way lower rank so you won't get as much SR for beating them. it's the hard games where everyone is evenly matched or if you're the underdog team that wins that grants more SR. keep playing and your true rank should even out if you think they've placed you lower.
Half of my games so far in DPS and support have been losses. Major losses. I was getting brand new players on my team or players who were bronze past season and then there would be a diamond, or masters on the enemy team! I would be the only person on my team getting eliminations.
Unless u checked them this is a lie because your Mmr was not reseated as it was a visual reset

i hate to sound like a hater but as a tank player this game has never felt worse. I can feel myself getting angry at the game. Targets that would normally die on engages from my Wrecking Ball are living with under 25 hp, it feels like i can never get healed cuz i'm constantly stuck with the heal debuff, which blizz should have seen coming considering the size of all the tank hitboxes.....basically as a tank main since i started in season 3 of OW 1, this is literally the worst the tank role has ever felt. Let me know if i'm delusional or if it's just a ball main thing
Nope, you're absolutely right. Tank isn't fun right now. This 20% healing reduction makes playing tank feel awful and makes supports mostly healbot.. Add the bigger projectiles to the mix and tanks die even faster than before.. Sig seems to have the best chance in the meta since he can negate most damage.
Went 10 - 0 with Sig and Queen and placed Masters 5. Not really a tank issue ball is just bad bro. Learn the meta.

bruh the dps passive looks horrible at that, there's constant times ML7 is just pumping heals but they just kill right thru. I understand the frustration of burst healing and they want to fix it but tanks and support have to be the least fun roles with dps having the most fun out of all.
Even tho I saw yesterdays stream this is still great to watch while cleaning 😌

This so called reset is a joke! It's a soft reset and nothing else, based on your previous rank. I tried on an alt acc, gold3 s8, won first game complete overhaul, predicted rank: silver3, ended up with 8w, 2l, and got gold 2. Played with a friend who was gold1 s8, and guess what, he got plat5, still 2 ranks above me with same placement result since we grped.
Then watching Jay3 losing first game, predicted rank diamond 2, and ML7 winning first game, predicted rank Master 3. So yes, your previous rank and mmr is still very much there affecting your placement games.

I actually love this patch. Tank overall feels worse ya but not all of them. DPS feels amazing and I primarily play support and it’s a mixed bag but overall better
First game I was like "who needs OWL when you have the all grouped here in an ML7 game" literary the best you can ask for!

had a game where someone crashed the whole team and the game canceled and gave the lose to me but at first it didnt say it. it said 8/10 so played 1 and won and it showed 10/10. the game was 3 to 3 and the enemy had just pushed but c9'd hard and as we were switching sides i saw 1 guy leave on my team then i got kicked out literally 1 second after. it was on the new junkertown map changes but idk never had that happen before. didnt get suspended either it allowed me to q up right after

i went 10 and 0 in my placement matches and only got into diamond 3
I was excited for this season, after a week of playing not so much..... out of 15 games Ive played total I have won about 4 of them. the whole hard reset is putting my up against Champ/Grand Chanp people, and though I felt hard stuck in Silver this is not what i expected....

bruh, you want get enemisted to lhcloudy and ml7 being you platinum? mmr its so important for that, never and never gonna be a good option reset mmr total, only how this patch a soft reset mmr.

First thoughts: DPS passive is oppressive. Dive tanks get obliterated. Tanks and Dps need to learn patience with healing. They forget that they themselves can heal themselves

For me so far, (I've only played mercy for three qp games) the game feels the same aside from the roster wide passive and the DPS passive. Aside from the HA micromovement cooldown buff ofc, which I'm really feeling. Today I'm gonna try Moira, LW, Ana and maybe Sym and Sombra
playing mercy and saying the game feels the same is crazy of course you wouldn't feel the difference
@@suzuya0 mercy is still getting hit by the increased projectiles, the dps passive, affected by the role wide passive, health increases (it affects her healing and her own hp), the support passive buff, sympathetic recovery buff, and the GA buff. She got more changes than most of the roster. Idk what you're talking about bestie. I also said "so far" and said I'm trying out other heros today.
I played with the worst players in the game yesterday when I played support. went from diamond 3 to gold 5 lmfaoo, games dead again though so it will be easy to climb

No, it wasn't an actual rank reset. It took the rank from last season and went based off of that.
Anyone else think heal debuff is way overtuned? Healing feels just so bad now and I only won with damage heroes like Zen or Moira.

My first 5 games were filled with bots. Ignoring the payload and c9ing, a moira who was getting bullied by a genji, unbelievable stuff
No healing was too strong before. Heal bottling is dead thank god
@@TruGmER17 agreed it was strong before but now with a debuff it is impossible to sustain a tank in a fight with even 2 healers focusing. With healing being so useless now, the choice is clear going full DPS even with supports. A Zen meta is not exactly a healthy one. Now tanks in ranked get vaporized literally in 2 seconds.

Nahhhh it’s not even that bad. And actually, it makes the games actually last longer. PLUS having more health too. I’ve actually enjoyed the season a lot. Just fix the hit boxes just a SMIIIIDGE!!! make the head smaller. I don’t mind the body, just make the head smaller. I’ll be happy.

Hmm, I was GM1 (probably top 500, but hadn't won 50 games in a few seasons), won 8, lost 2 placements, achieved Master 4... Assumed that was ok but I can see that you've placed GM3. Of course your much better than me but makes me worried what OW thinks my MMR after being mostly inactive for past couple seasons

i won 6 and lost 4 and somehow got bronze 2 even though at least half of my 6 wins i rolled them i have so much grinding to do

Sorry my dudes but ya'll are delusional. Not saying ow ranking system is great, but... I started low silver or what is now silver 5 because well... I was a silver player. Next season after learning the game I was mid plat or plat 3, next season low diamond or diamond 5. Got stuck there for a few seasons until I decided to take it seriously again and then became a master player. If you continue playing (yes, you will lose games where you are doing great personally or have a thrower) and contribute enough (and are statistically better than everyone else at that rank) you will climb. If you just play the game and win (but not become a better player) you will stay stuck.

@ Man i dont even know anymore, im consistently having the best heals in the game, almost having 2x the enemies heals and always the lowest deaths while being in positions to be able to heal everyone and easily escape if im targeted, what more can i actually do cause it just feels impossible as i just watch my brain dead team run into the enemies lines while 1 hp after i just bailed them out. What realistically can i do man

Its so unfair?=? they say "We reset the ranked" but after your first match you are already back in masters? my first was with moria we won my stats where 9k dmg 31k healing and 2 deaths and I was put in silver 5 ?=?=? This ranking is absolud shit you are only in Masters becourse you Stream the game!!
It was a soft reset. They reset the rankings but the data from your previous rank is still there. ML7 is playing against past GMs and you're playing against silvers or even bronzes (i assume). If you do well with the next matches (cause the game would place you in matches against higher ranked players) and do good, you'll climb. If not, you stay in your rank.
To people complaining about the dps passive. You can look at it as detrimental. It affects mostly tank and supports. Tanks are forced to play more passive and supports turn into heal bots if the tank is being shot at by more than one person including a dps. But there’s another side to the story. For the past few months, supports have been the undisputed best role in the game. The passive now makes it so you limit what they can do because they’re forced into healing way more. It doesn’t necessarily weaken what they can do, but it makes it so they cant use the full capabilities of their kit as often. Im personally iffy about it. I think it’s good to have, but the numbers are too high. 20% may be too much. Either way, too many big changed were made at once, so now it’ll take time to balance unless they fully revert. Tank isn’t fun.(still) Dps became too strong. And supports gameplay became…boring depending on who you’re playing
